Bang for the dollar Kastking is hard to beat. I really like my Spartacus (original version with the dual brake system). For the $35 bucks I spent it works as good as my $100 baitcasters I have. Has excellent casting distance and out of all my baitcasters I can cast this one the best.
Kastking is great if u ask me. I own a Sharky 3 and its just as nice as my SLX. Best bang for the buck. Im thinking about getting a Spartacus2 baitcaster combo brand new for $100 (best part)😂
The thing about Kastking reels including the Spartacus 2, which I own and don't use is that their quality control isn't great. Mine is defective. My Mega Jaws now sounds like a coffee grinder after a year's use. You get what you pay for. Save your money and buy a Diawa Tatula, AB RevoX Shimano or Lews. In the long run you'll be much happier.
@@davidstone3780 I have the abu Garcia black Max and I also have this reel . Id say the black max does feel and cast better . Although , I would say the handles on the kastking do feel better .. waaayyy better .
Could you please do a teardown of the reel and show us what is inside? I don't get it why this reel have a Spartacus name, all the features are worse than previous generation

Belongs as a kids toy in a box of crackerjack. Run a deep diving crank bait with no actual fish hitting just the stress of running a deep diving crank bait and the reel is toast

After two of my reels from kastking malfunction I stop buy from them, I bought the parts from their website and fixed it. Then the same reel one of them the crixus had bearing problems and made raspy noise I msg them to have them send me parts for free but they just simply ask me to buy it. I don’t abuse my reels infact I do maintenance on them. So fixing the same reel twice when I have to buy parts cost almost half the price of the reel I think I’ll pass.
@@KeatsKeats was out today and one of my royal legend elite reel had the problem again with the one way clutch bearing, I really want to like kastking but this is getting kind of ridiculous, I know oh maybe I’m just using it wrong…trust me when I say I’m not. Using for jerkbait found myself with a backlash spool while jerkbaiting I said to myself not again…….I know it’s the one way clutch bearing because I’ve had this before. 100% certified! If I were u stay away from royal legend elite. Get a different model. Strike 3 for me. Blue reel now is also making raspy noise when casting that means one more thing it’s the other bearings I’ve also fixed. Now to mention I service my own reel, and I don’t throw in on the ground on the dirt. Needless to say kk royal legend elite is bad reel.
The Amazon listing says this is rated for saltwater also, anyone using it in saltwater? Curious to know how it holds up. $35 is impossible to beat for a saltwater bc.

ABU makes the black max and this is way better than that. The black max is not bad just not the same specs.

a reel does not work correctly if not filled with line to less than 1/8 inch to top of spool..
Yes it does. The rate of retrieve changes but he reel works fine. That rate changes depending on how far you casted as well.

ive been using the OG spartacus on saltwater for years. splash it under tap water after every use and no sign of corrosion nor rust.
Garbage...bought two units and both were bad out of the box...cheap materials. Went back to Lew's...never had an issue.
