Getting a Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 that has been sitting for 4 years Cars, lowlife , twin turbo, awd ,aws, will it start, building a 3000gt in less than. JESUS IS KING 👑
It’s cool to see someone who doesn’t know a thing about working on cars and then seeing them progress throughout the years. Mistakes will be made, very expensive mistakes, but you keep all that experience under your belt. Keep up the good work man, and it never hurts to learn more
There's a reason why he was willing to trade something small for that car.... because he KNEW something was wrong with it and that it was about to fail. Sad to hear about you getting ripped off your 700xx and then it getting ripped off HIM, but best wishes in getting a new engine for that 3000GT VR-4, because those things are extremely rare.
These are great car's , im currently restoring my 92 VR4 😁 they can be a little intimating to work at first , but as i learned, there not all rhat hard to work on, just need to have patience , it's tight under that hood,. Nice car you have, good luck with the car, it's a legend 😜 VR4LIFE 😍 VR4EVER 😎
@@BradenBuildz honestly I've never ran a solid belt tensioner , I've thought about it, I owned 5 of these car's ,I have 3 now, 92 VR4 😎 93 base😁 94 SL. 😊 Seems like all I do is work on these car's 😲 I've had a on new tensioner fail after rebuild, first start up, lucky it did no damage, cheap brand tensioner 👎 I buy nothing but true oem japan tensioner from now on 😂 Good luck on yours 🏎️
Love the video dude. Looking forward to seeing more of this car being built. I'm looking into getting a VR-4 myself but they're either really expensive or hard to find lol. Keep up the good work!
I've owned my 93 VR-4 for 27 years now and i cringed so hard watching how this video went. You don't know what you don't know but man those noises did not sound like a test drive was a good idea! The guy parked it for a reason after all. Live and learn, it's always fixable and better than spun bearings! Also Fram filters really are junk, it's the only filter that ISN'T recommended for these cars, the cardboard inside fails and blocks the oil circulation. Lemme go watch the rebuild video now lol
Hey man! Just watched your vid. I'm seriously debating getting a 93 twin turbo one.... it's very similar to this one, except the paint's looking a bit rougher... thanks for this video, gave me a lot of insight on how these work and look!
Any vr4 is worth saving, parts are becoming hard to find. Injust rebuilt my SL from ground up and put a SC on it. The only vr4 parts I used were gauges and front brakes.
Yup when I saw the Mitsubishi in the thumbnail and you said in the beginning of the video that you had to redo the motor I knew exactly what was going to happen from experience with my 03 lancer
Honestly u got a bad ass Car boy don't let no one tell yah it's not the baddest Car of the 90$ zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds Seriously Fast and fun had the red 91Gt vr4 it was sick as hell 130 on ice Issane fun
I also bought a 92 VR4 with no idea how drive a manual or work on it for the purpose of learning. I taught myself how to drive it. Still trying to work on it. It’s tough. Good job to you.
Bro I hope you realize how blessed you are that vr4 is clean and has hella mods that guy could have easily sold it for 4k not working I saw in your car a custom exhaust custom intake piping and the guy said it had custom turbos You are really blessed I hope God bless me as he dit with you
the radiator fans being wired to come on makes me think it had a blown head gasket sometime in it life. i had a dodge neon i drove to and from work for 2 years with a blown head gasket, i removed the thermostat and it did fine. i have a 94 stealth base model 5 speed and it somewhat easier to work on, some parts are not made any more. just my 2 cents before you go WOT with the car make sure the brakes are good mine was stopping with just the 2 calipers.
A lot of us Hotwire the fans. Especially if you have a front mount intercooler or you turn up the boost more then 12psi. It’s a good mod but you will be replacing that air conditioner cooling fan every year lol
Those are interference engines if your timing belt breaks a couple of the valves will smash through the top of the Pistons..... damn i started this comment right before your valves smashed your Pistons damn I was cringing the whole time you were driving it too LOL
It's a shame you did not understand how serious that noise was. I am a Mitsubishi Mechanic and I already knew what was going to happen to that poor engine. All could have been avoided if you did not run it and fixed the timing belt issue first. OH well I will watch the rebuild.
Thanks for all the great entertaining video's , you have a new subscriber . And i like your German Shepherd's to ... Love German sheperd's and other German dog's . Regarts from Holland 🇳🇱.
Man U remind me of myself when I was younger, my first car was a Mitsubishi eclipse gst turbo that had some stuff done to it and when that turbo spooled up it would break the tires loose, I miss that car so much I had a lot of fun in it!!
@@BradenBuildz naw awd was the gsx I actually had 2 eclipses I had a 96 and it was a fully built show car won lots of trophies my second was a 98 turbo convertible I picked up so many hoes in that car man it had this tan leather with tvs and shit back in my day tvs we’re just getting put in cars and stuff so it was cool. That car was the funnest cars I’ve ever drove everyone always wanted to ride in it
What I don't get is why did dude just park it????? If I only got 1000 miles out of a 15,000 dollar rebuild that car would be back at that shop getting fixed on their dime. 15 stacks and no warranty? Something don't sit right with me on that.
You took out an upgraded fuel pump out no put in an oe spec pump? Not good for the mods that it has. It’s going to run Kevin and that’s dangerous for. Modded turbo car.
@BradenBuildz , You shouldn't believe him. He might be lying to you about the bike because he's jealous that you are making the car to the better condition. Also he might file a complaint on you saying that you stole it and you cheated on him for the car. The car's amazing. I'm perfectly sure that he's jealous. Please take care.

They’re not rare at all and I def didn’t get ripped off. Engine is rebuilt and will be in next video
@@BradenBuildzthere’s only been 287 VR4s made in the US

Lessons I’ve learned after blowing this car up 3 times is that you should run a solid timing belt tensioner

That 3000gt is in pretty good shape tbh. Just cleaning it up made a big difference.
Don’t eeeeeever use a gram filter on anything.
You know that whole deal with FRAM was years ago. They are perfectly good filters for the money.

So excited for further updates on this!

This is identical to the dodge stealth. I'm pretty sure everything is interchangeable.
