    Hi new sub!!! I’m two years loc’d going on three and I can tell you from experience that SOME oils applied directly to your scalp will make you itchy. Some won’t but it’s all about the brand. You can always apply the oil to your new growth and massage it into your scalp if that helps. And tip: retwist and clip all the way down your locs. It will help with locking faster and take care of the fuzzies and will make your locs look more uniform. Especially if you ends are taking longer to lock than your roots.

      Hii, So I seen someone saying she didn't retwist her locs all the way down to keep some of the texture, I wanted to do the same thing but I was wondering if you knew anyway I could preserve texture without having the fuzzies

    I’m so glad I found your channel! We have so much in common; similar hair textures, and we’re both blind 😂😂
    But sis, if you aren’t having dry scalp issues then I’d just use the spray bottle because the oils will get to your scalp that way. Don’t worry about using the nozzle, or applicator bottle.
    I oil my scalp directly with a light carrier oil, like almond or grape seed. Those oils are super light, and they replace the sebum that my scalp doesn’t really make. I have always had dandruff and a terribly dry scalp, so this works for me.

    How can putting oil on your scalp cause your scalp to itch when the oil keep it moisturized and dryness is what causes itching? Um, who said that? Smh.
    Anyways... Your scalp produces its own oils that goes down your hair but that's not as simple with kinkier hair so we tend to put oil on our hair but mostly the ends since the oil from your scalp takes longer to get there and older hair would need it more... Me personally I put some conditioner and oils in a bottle of water and spray my hair every morning and evening. The water gets on my hair and scalp plus I double spray my edges so everything gets moisturized.
    The key is knowing what oils do what and what works for your hair. Coconut oil grows my hair becaue it keeps it soft but some people say it burns their hair 🤷🏽‍♀️.
    I don't trust "hair oils".. I buy the oils straight from the person who made it at home so it's the raw coconut oil or whatever. Mostly because that oil is what my hair likes and I don't want added ingredients my hair doesn't need.

    • @shackie6866
      @shackie6866  3 роки тому

      Thank you ! I was told that when the oil or any product sits on your scalp , it could cause itching . I guess cause the scalp isn’t breathing . No biggie though . I oil it sometimes but mostly just use my spray bottle . Haven’t experienced any itching or dryness yet .

    • @jolisawilson92613
      @jolisawilson92613 3 роки тому +1

      Some oils that people use don’t moisturize. They’re sealants, the water is a complement to the oil which seals in the moisture so maybe that’s why certain oils will make your scalp itch if you’re only applying oil and nothing else, you’re basically building up oil on your scalp which makes it cakey and itchy. Plus your hair will still be dry. Coconut oil is a moisturizing oil so that’s a good one to use.

    • @jolisawilson92613
      @jolisawilson92613 3 роки тому +1

      Also, yess I agree with going straight to the source! I’m about to start making my own oil for my scalp/locs. I don’t trust anything anymore.
