Howbuska I did, but they were done a while ago and the performances were no longer up to my standards. I can do better now, so I will! Thanks for watching!
Love the fill at 3:35 and never new there was some double bass thrown into the mix. You are a maniac at the end. Watched it like 12 times in a row trying to figure out what you are doing. Bravo!
After 4 months of drumming I can play this..and barchetta..I didn't know I had this gift. Been playing guitar 15 years. Life's weird. Live for yourself. Nobody else.
This has to be one of Neil's most intense drum parts. All the more amazing that it's his first major recording with Rush and he played like that out of the box. Incredible.
Sterling! You were one of the first cats I thought of when Neil passed. Don't know if you seen a comment that I put last week, but I was watching your playlist of signals the Thursday night before the news came down about Neil. If you ever pull this channel down and delete these videos I will publicly mourn!
The recent RS article brought me here. I never realized how many complex bits were in this song. Definitely WAY ahead of its time. Superb cover, Sterling.
Mate I've watched a few of your videos and I've got to say you're a fabulous drummer. Rush are my favorite band and it's fascinating to watch how you play Neil Peart's parts to the songs. He was an amazing drummer, but congratulations to you for emulating his work.
Thanks for posting these vids. You capture the talent of Peart....timing. The man knew what do at the right time. Not too little, and even more importantly, not too much (a mistake made by a lot of even the great drummers). BTW, I noticed there tends to be one thumbs down on several of your vids. You by chance piss off a girlfriend? LOL!
Darn It they should have documented every rush song with this view. id watch. i know there are some on his drum vid and extras but unbelievable. nice job
Well played! So on point! The best part for me is that you even imitated Neil's intensity when you started to speed up just a little bit in some of the drum fills, but you don't rush the song at all (pun intended). no doubt he would be proud to hear this cover. Keep it up! I'm keen to hear more.
If Rush were to every continue on with another drummer you are definitely more of a fit than Mike Portnoy or any other big named house drummer. Excellent!
Kin Productions Yeah, I’d be grateful for that! The audio is not very workable, unfortunately. My mixer combines everything into one stereo track. I admit I haven’t done much research on how I can record multiple tracks through one USB interface.
@@SterlingPatrickFuentes Ah damn! I don't know how much you'd like to spend but an 1818vsl + TubeOpto 8 will give you 16 separate channels to record everything through USB! It's what I've done and it has yet to let me down! I'd be more than happy to guide you through it if you decide to go with it! It's a total of about 1200 CAD and can even work with a laptop!
Hopefully one day, Geddy and Alex arrive at your door for a private evening jam no recording or fanfare, just a special nite just for you. Oh and a big toast to Neil at evening's close.
Im no Sterling but the first one I learned was Closer to the Heart. It's one of the simpler ones but still has fun fills and nothing too crazy on the kick drum.
Neil is looking down and smiling. Awesome cover as usual.
A performance the master himself would be proud of!
How the hell do you do every song so perfectly? You dont miss a single beat dude.
One of my favorite rush songs, definitely top 10
Noah My fave. Unrelenting energy. Also love the edge on Something for Nothing-Early RAW Rush is the best!
I agree, that music and album is the pinacle and Growth of Canadian MER (Metal and Rock) music movement
Neil Peart did not mess around when he joined the band. This must have blown the world away when Fly By Night first came out. Incredible cover.
Keep Neil's work alive Sterling! The professor is looking down on us and smiling!🥁👍
dude that was awesome like you even purposely missed the snare hit at 3:21 like neil did in the original recording like holy crap thats awesome
DUDE I REWATCHED IT AGAIN AND THE LITTLE TICK YOU PLAYED ON THE HIGH HAT AT 1:38 IS ALSO IN THE ORIGINAL RECORDING WTF
I could’ve sworn you did all of the Fly By Night Covers, great cover by the way!

Brilliant job brother!!! ..... Who would "thumbs down" this?!?!?
wow...never realized what a powerhouse of song this was...and Sterling provided an epic performance as per usual..bravo!
Easily some of Peart’s best drumming of all time
The introduction made me smile - effortless and clean playing to my eyes and my ears at least! Keep it up
... Absolute and unreachable - the prodigal disciple...👌🏻👊🏻✨🙏🏻🥁🥂
You played this really well!! Great job on the fills & the feel!! Not an easy song to play!!! 🥁 Great job!!!!
It's like the professor literally possessed you. You are a legitimate PHENOMENON, Mr. Fuentes! =)
Somehow just landed on this tonight. Absolutely spot on!

Earlier Rush is my favourite stuff, good job
Dude, that was awesome! Your timing is impeccable !
We'll done maestro! I'm a guitarist and don't play drums but love them. Peart's drumming has always amazed me, so much going on
WOW,PHENOMENAL Job Sterling!!! This cover is SO on point,I would've thought I was listening to the actual recording of this song!!! Well done!!!
I NEVER get tired of watching you play.
Just epic and love it, especially at the end, don't know how to describe it, hertas and triplets together, that's Neil for me.

Sick! Hats off to you and to The Professor 😊
Nailed it man, phenomenal work! Love the overhead view on this one too with the aggressive bass pedal work.
Absolutely incredible! Absolutely stunning ❤
Just incredible. Every nuance.
I'm watching all your Drumming.. this song is also to the t.... I've listened to a lot of drummers man, and I never heard one as good as you 👍

Haters gonna hate.
Outstanding, young man!
Jesus, Sterling! Rush should hire you and continue to do a bit of touring. That is some amazing playing right there.
Awesome cover - well done.

Fantastic as always.. Always pleased to see a new upload 👍👍👍👍
AMAZING COVER
Big fan... got chills... keep it up, man.
Excellent job. I enjoy watching/listening to you play Neil’s creations. You’re the best, next to him!
Darn It they should have documented every rush song with this view. id watch. i know there are some on his drum vid and extras but unbelievable. nice job
Man! U make rules with this drum performance! Sterling rules!
Great cover
Easily one of the best rock and roll intros of all time
Never noticed there were so many catches in this tune. Good job!

This was amazing! The Professor would be proud!!

So sick
Smooth
Nice 👍🏻
0:37 learning time stamp one, got the first forty or so seconds down
🖤
Oh my god!!!!
💯🥁
Is just me or the double bass kick on the drum, also know famously as pedaling of double kick influenced these pedals in Trash Metal?
I See potential in him
Could you do a solo like the exit stage left one?
Who are the idiots that thumbs down ? people that don't know real talent , that's who.
Great cover, I think it would sound even better if you mix in more kick and less overheads!
Excellent suggestion. I'm always looking to improve the mix. I'll try it for my next video.
@@SterlingPatrickFuentes Would you ever be interested in sending your videos to be mixed by anyone?
I'd be happy to try if you'd let me.

🎯
You should to full albums in one sitting :)
Bruh you should try a cover of O Baterista from Rush In Rio. That’d b fire
I used to play these songs years ago when i was a young kid.
hey sterling! Can you tell me about all your different drum gear?
Laser sharp.
Better than that Roll the Bones shit. I checked out after Grace Under Pressure.
Youre fucking awesome. Are you in a band? You should definitely get a rush tribute band together if youre not
Are you covering fly by night album again? Because there is no playlist on your channel
how do you learn all these rush songs? by sheet music?
Sterling,
Any advice to a beginner Rush song to learn..?
Im no Sterling but the first one I learned was Closer to the Heart. It's one of the simpler ones but still has fun fills and nothing too crazy on the kick drum.
