I SAW THEM PLAY THIS AT LEAST 15 TIMES AND IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES To WATCH LIVE. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK NEIL! I’M SIMPLY AT A LOSS FOR WORDS.... Doctor David
My duder, I've been watching your vids for a few years now and holy shit dude, I know I can count on a nearly perfect cover when I watch your stuff. Appreciate it man.
Bruh. At 3:55 is insane. The speed and ability to be so precise in the way you play is pure talent. I used to want to be very precise when I played, and the markings on the drum heads were good indicators of how sloppy I was. Looking at your drums, you keep it clean. Pure talent. And your kit looks amazing, very polished.
Sterling is definitely a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff. Detail is the name of the game. I’m so happy he’s decided to share his love of our favorite band on UA-cam. It is an incredibly fitting tribute to one of the greatest musicians to walk the planet. It’s just a shame Rush didnt record another 20 albums to keep Sterling busy lol. Or he could just do the entire 1970s Genesis discography. I would not be offended by that one bit. You hear me Sterling?????

Been a huge Rush fan since 1975 when I got this album fly by night for Christmas watching that cover sent chills down my neck you nailed that unbelievable great great cover.
Fly By Night, and Caress Of Steel have some of IMO Neil’s hardest drumming and you nailed both albums. Love both also, so that made me like your drum covers even more. You are really talented, I always watch your videos after a long day it just make me happy to listen to people playing songs by my favorite band (Rush) and favorite drummer, Neil.
Incredible. Note for note, beat for beat!!!! This older stuff really shows the talent and arrangements by such a young band at the time. Thanks Sterling for bringing it back. WOW, incredible playing.
Just love your Rush covers, bro. Really good job and I can always turn to watching them when I need help deducing how to play a certain part. Cheers man!
I haven’t watched a ton of drum covers, but I’ve been watching the video of the original song for months, to hear the song. That is no doubt why the algorithm sent it to me (though what I’d been watching immediately before this was an isolated bass track of Won’t Get Fooled Again performed live by the Who). Anyway, however it appeared in my queue, I’m so glad it did. This performance was incandescent, and as someone else remarked, your drums are wonderfully tuned. I love the toms and the cymbals but that note of your ringing snare on the stop-time section-13/10. Keep sharing your amazing talent with as many people as you can. You could save lives, and no joke.
Damn!!!! You really nailed the hell out of By-tor..Not only are u inspiring us like Neal did but your making a lot of us who used to practice to this go back to woodshed! Keep it coming!!!!
Damn that's insanely good. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out who your favorite band and drummer is lol. Neil Peart has always been the guy that has made me want to play drums and I'm planning on taking lessons in a couple of months (gonna finally do it at age 57). Since you did a Max Webster cover, Canuck by any chance?
I really, really hope your lessons are going well for you, and that you have found both a greater love and appreciation for Neil and his astounding work, as well as a love for the instrument itself! I don't at all buy into the argument that you have to start playing an instrument as a child in order to learn how to play. That is total BS. For the most part, any person can learn any instrument at any age; I'm glad you didn't buy into that myth, as many do, and decided to start learning. Learning new things like music is so great for your brain as well. Keeps us young lol. I started on drums before I became primarily a guitarist, and drums are still an instrument that I have a great passion for. Once you've got that musical beating inside you and know how great it feels, it generally stays around inside you for a while, no matter the age. Keep at it, and keep the music flowing!
@@STSGuitar16 I actually started taking lessons (only had 1 due to Covid, lessons start up again on Wed. night) and have been practicing basic stuff on my own. I'm encouraged with what small progress I've made. LOL! Learning to decipher notes (my Kryptonite).

Great as always, Sterling. Quick question, are you playing with a drum-free track or are you just so incredibly right exactly on time with every beat so that it just sounds like one drum set playing? Really incredible performance either way, but if this is just the original full track of the song with Neil's drums included, you are within an atom of every single beat and it just sounds like one fat drum set. Excellent work, brother, you'd make Neil proud, I'm sure. Keep on doing what you do.
Thank you so much for watching. I don’t know of any drum-less versions of Rush songs, so you’re hearing my clunky kit at an increased volume over the track as it appears on the album. Neil continues to inspire me to do the best I can with each song. Thanks again for watching!
@@SterlingPatrickFuentes That's incredible. You're far from clunky, my man haha. Great stuff, I even try to nitpick details in every video but I have yet to find a single mistake or mis-hit in any of your covers. I think pretty much the only way you would be able to get a real drumless track would be to either have access to the master tracks and turn the drums off (leaving everything else on), or somehow get ahold of the type of file they use for video games like Rock Band. I can't remember the file type, but a while back I was able to find the Beatles Rock Band track files, and if you load them up into Audacity or any other music software, it will appear as a master track where you can turn every instruments/parts on or off. This is because when they make the Rock Band games, they use the master track files of the real artists actual songs so that if you stop playing the drum part in the game, for instance, in the middle of the song, the actual recorded drums will drop out of the mix too to simulate as if you were really on stage playing the parts yourself. I know there are some Rush tunes on Rock Band, but I have no idea where to find them, but they do exist out there somewhere. Anyway, great job.
