Worse yet dad decides that it's a teaching moment and he makes you do it while criticizing every move you make.... "Why do you have to do everything left handed!" 😧
Very refreshing to learn more about tackling those irritating but practical niggles such as switches, locks and windows. This will be even more a go-to channel now that MTD removed itself.
WD40 is primarily a solvent, which means that it dissolves contaminates so parts get nice and clean. As a solvent, WD-40 will strip away any existing lubricant, leaving your chain, hinge or lock dryer than before application. This means that using WD-40 as a chain lubricant is worse than using no lube at all. I like CRC's 3-36 General Purpose Lubricant, -50° to 250°F
Since Roadkill et al went pay per view, here in Europe I haven't seen Lucky in years. Great that UA-cam suggested this video. I'm subscribed now, so let the binge watching catchup begin !
I’d love to see a show where Lucky and Dulcich are freed from the antics of the cowboys on the MT roster. Pick a pile of garbage, lord knows Freiburger has enough laying around and restore it to perfection over the course of a season. By having that extra time you can explain the depths of what your doing, what you need to look for when deciding of a parts good. How to assemble a bottom end properly, how to refresh brakes properly etc etc..
I am dealing with the same thing. Glued in side windows which where NOT one of Fords better ideas! But it looks like the already fixed that because I see it's a new side window.the door light should work whenmthe door is open. There is a screw that goes in the door cup of pull. Missing the window rear gasket. Nice job over all.so much better.
Hey Lucky, love the idea of using the collision/body protection wrap as the plastic under the door panel. So many times the factory plastic is either missing or shredded. I will have to start using that. Thanks for that tip!!
A heavy plastic garbage bag with clear tape to hold it in place works well to line the door panel. Making it water tight is important to protect the door panel from warping, and grewing mold.
and just to prevent the car filling with water. sounds insane but true. amount of cars we had in the dealers i worked in with that exact issue in the UK, and the inner plastic membrane was missing or split was unreal. tape it up/make a replacement and all was good again. we found almost any reasonably heavy duty polythene (rubble sacks, pond liner etc) would do the job nicely.
Plastic fender covers are nice weather shields, seen people use cellophane/sandwich wrap also with a mix of different adhesives, it all works but just annoying if you need to work on the other side of it as you normally need to repace it vs the thicker stuff.
Lucky , now u have done a few Ls swaps , is it worth it ? A small block get lousy mileage with cam, carb, etc Would like a better mileage, they say Ls gives u 20 per gallon, my el co , 11 on down hill , trying to figure out
This car has been like that dog that gets found in the alley covered in mange that gets picked up by that family that gives it this crazy transformation. I still cant believe this thing was driven out of that junkyard...
Wish I could leave my 73 Grand Prix with Lucky for like a year, I’d pay him as we go , from sorting the 455 out, to the little things, like rattles in those big GM doors, bushings in the hinges, plastic between the door and the panel, I have power windows and doors, door locks are slow, you gotta beg them to unlock w the switch, in NY however
At some point, all the videos of the Disgustang rescue/restoration should be compiled into a collected work. This story is unique. At some point, David will auction the car for BIG BUCKS. I hope we see it one day in a classic movie. Then it should be added to a premier car collection.
I misread the video title. Read “locked up” as “knocked up”. Was expecting Lucky to perform some unsavory act with this mustang. I am both relieved and disappointed by my mistake.
AFTER they went to exposed screw on the window crank. Prior to that they had those godawful clips buried deep inside. Even with the required special tool it took ten times as long. A real P.I.A.
Please don’t use WD40 as a long term lubricant. It dries out in a few weeks taking any grease or oil with it. Then it caused things to seize up. It’s much better to use a grease.
It's like watching my Dad do something without having to hold the flashlight while getting cussed at.
I regret there is only one like available to give!
@@tobycatron2103 No Shit!

Attention to Detail is why Lucky is such a Class Act !
I've never been a big Mustang guy but I love this thing . Seeing the guys pull it out of the junkyard to become a real nice driver has been neat.
This. Right here. Bam!
shame they havent given it a decent paint job to finish it all off! rust sorted, new interior, all niggles sorted, engine sorted, but looks like SHIT!

Lucky’s demeanor makes you feel like everything will be ok just trust Lucky
He’s Lucky

You know a guy is a great mechanic when he wears a Rolex Submariner while he is fixing up these classics.
🤓
Tar paper was the usual stuff from the factory between the door and the panel on old cars.
I found a leftover partial roll of tyvek house wrap on a job site. I find it makes great vapor barrier for door panels. A lot of door panels.

Its the number one rule of old car restorers. EVERYTHING IS BROKEN.

Thanks for your videos Lucky, this one got me off the couch and into the garage to sort the windows in my Valiant 👌
Good day lucky. Thank you for everything you do bro. Your awesome man, your definitely one of the best brother. Great great channel take care brother
👊🤓
It's so nice to see something done properly and work afterwards.
Positive comment for the algorithm. Love the show Lucky. Keep up the great work
Sweet, good job, I once used white brake grease on the window tracks ......maybe a magnet for dirt though
Lucky and the Mach 1 is always good content!
Good to see lucky cares enough to install the plastic that the interior guys didn’t care about

Thanks for this, such trim work gets rarely on video.
Dave's care is really shaping up.
Distgustang on the outside...nice and fresh inside! Perfect
I first read that as "69 Mach1 gets KNOCKED up!" ... was hoping the Disgustang was making babies! Freiburger would be such a happy Papa! :o)
Lucky, Dave watch your excellent work? That is a lucky car. That's what I call my camaro. It got a lot of love.
To believe this thing was rotting away in a junkyard to now! Amazing 🤩
door panel hardware, someone on my 46 used some larger screws and hogged out the screw holes, looking for a thought of correcting them a sound way
Why wasn’t I subscribed before now? Well I am now! I’m miss Hot Rod Garage! Hope to see you guys back at it soon!!! Great content Lucky!
I'm in the same boat lol, have you seen Tony's new YT channel? Its called Stay Tuned
One more thing checked off of the Disgustang...Becoming less and less disgusting!!👍
Such a cool car, Be nice when he finally puts the charger back the way it was too
Good God Freiburger just got it back and blew it up doing donuts!

nice to see a window crank with a screw in it.......old school
Super nice car, I love my 69 Mach 1
Nice sounding door 👍🍻

that orig quarter window reminds us of what it was
Working Door locks and windows on one of David’s cars???? Man lucky is spoiling him!

Davids new daily driver. Cool. I hope he doesn't lose interest like he did in the roadrunner!
It's always nice to see someone put it back together the right way nice lucky
So I hear that after you did such a beautiful job done and the Disgustang was finally sent home... Freiberger blew up the motor. Dangit!
Wish David put the same wheels he had on it when he drove it out the junk yard, those look he stole everyone's spare tire from the 60's.
damn, that thing is coming far from where it started
Best of days to you Lucky !

Love your channel.
You're way too nice Lucky. You should never give Freiburger a car back with tread left on the tires.
Confidence is locking the door and closing it before you check to make sure the key works...
That door would not have had plastic as it was used to protect cardboard door cards from moisture in the door. Your door card has a plastic backer.
This guy misses all the free burrittos and chips now that Tony has left
Finnegan scraped up poop with that 1/4 window
Ready for paint! LOL!
I was looking for a mini-spool installation...
I misread the video title. Read “locked up” as “knocked up”. Was expecting Lucky to perform some unsavory act with this mustang.

Lookin' good Lucky!
You need to time the window crank to not hot your knee if you drive more with the window up or down since it is in a different position.
that interior tho!!!
I'll bet the remote mirror cable fell back into the door when you slammed it shut LOL
theres one of those in my town thats been parked for 50 yours practically a rust pile but is complete and is even red
Film crew must be gone. Shop looks productive again.
Where did you get the Plastic door liner material?
Makes me miss my Mustangs. May need more attention but a breeze to work on.
It's such a pleasure to work on 60's-70's door panels.

Man David is having you go all out. And on a mustang?? This one has a great story though
Looks mint inside now. Gonna have to drop the 'Disgustang' name now.
I need to get some of the plastic like you used for the inter door seal. can i get the name and part number etc. from you? Please
collision wrap film
As always not a lot of talking, but really great job, i like it.
Nice work as always, Lucky. Is that other show going to be available via my typical Motor Trend sub?
We with the Freiburger to do all that work man cut off right before you do the Dew wipes to keep the windows from scratching
Looks great
I wish I were lucky enough to work on a 69 fastback
What year is the car again?
New outside window weatherstrips please!
High quality “other grease”. lol
Thank you for the video
Lucky, did you ever cross paths with Gary Van Allen?
Bluetooth mic clipped to your glasses is the way to go.
Nice job
Looks good

lucky for President
I would have gotten black interior, shows a lot less dirt
💯💯💯✌
What product did you use for a vapor barrier on the door?
It's a paint protective plastic you can put on your fenders so you don't scratch them. Not super sticky, so it peals off easy.
@@tlr-nut7275 any idea what its called?
WD 40 is only a temp lubricant, it doesn't last
Is that the Disgustang ?
Mint!
Personally I blame squirrels
Watching the episode where they drug this thing out. It was really bad lol.
Nice
As much as I love the 69 and 70 cars exterior styling I really do not like the interior styling. Much more a fan of 65-68 interiors.
Aaaaaaaaaaand its broken again
You need a throat mike, Lucky :-)
And Freiburger blew it up.
Just wished you would wear a mic so we could all hear you better !
Yes!! Wear a mike
Now it needs another engine #becauseRoadkill
