Great project! I redid the wiring on my 1969 Mustang but used the stock harness and modified it where it was falling apart. I should have spent the money earlier and did an entire kit like this when the car was apart. I would have saved myself some headaches... Just found the channel and love the content!
Yo Smackey I’m just about ready to find someone who can do this for me. Issues with my hands and just life, time and general stuff, I can’t really commit to doing this myself. Was hoping to find a youtuber close to me Into mustangs. I got all the harnesses, I just need the loom clips and connectors. No compromises. I don’t want to be taking it back apart in a year for crap I should’ve done now.
David needs to install some bronze bushings in his door hinges, or have you do it. Makes it much nicer to open and close the doors, they don't squeak and the doors latch properly. And - if you care - the capacitor on the center channel is used as a filter to block low frequencies because small speakers can't reproduce low frequencies. Capacitors are short circuits to high frequencies, but block low frequencies. If you know the frequency you want to start blocking, the formula for calculating the point where the capacitor starts to shut down low frequencies is 1/2(pi)C, or 1/6.28(C), as it is wired in your circuit.
Thankyou for showing the original harness and fuse block, I didn't know that mustang and Galaxie fuse blocks looked almost identical. This is gonna help me on my current restoration.
Lucky is a player y'all he is a blue collar baller and a shot caller thank you again lucky for all the great videos you get gas brother let's get back on that 67 Chevelle though that's what I'm rolling in and I love all your videos on the upgrades thank you DJ
I love that car and what you're doing to it. And that's a lot coming from me, not generally being a Ford or a Mustang guy. But you guys are turning it into a sweet ride anyone would be proud to drive. Nicely done.
I will only use AAW harnesses. The classic update kits may take a little thought to lay out to make look nice but their components and customer service are outstanding.
I used the American autowire kit on my 67 mustang, love it! Used custom SpeedHut Gauges. I actually ran engine wires through driver fender. Makes engine bay look a lot cleaner
Greatest thing we like to do after Thanksgiving is go on vacation in the Texas Hill Country. It gives me a chance to get caught up on my video watching in the mornings while the wife sleeps in.
Hey Lucky. Just doing the wiring this week on myk 70. Thanks for the heads up on all the stuff. Didn't even notice the dash pad needs a grill that they may not make any longer. Guess I could make a template and cut one out of some type of grate material. Thin holy aluminum designed vent cover. Make our own I guess.
I just finished wiring my 34 Ford with an American Autowire kit. My first time doing wiring and it went great. Good kit and easy to follow instructions. For anyone not wanting to drill holes to secure wires, look into "Mag Daddy" magnet kits. I found them very useful.
Hello Lucky great video on doing the wiring on David Mustang. I remember on Roadkill when he got it now look how far it has come. I really enjoy your channel and of course Hotrod Garage Take Care Sir
Tech tip request: What is your preferred way to label wires as you are working through a project? Masking tape and a sharpie? Label maker? Photos? Perfect memory?
I was wondering the same thing. I’m thinking of doing this for my 69 Coupe but it seems tedious and like I need to have experience to pull it off hahah.
Nice work Lucky. I have that same dashpad on mine. In the Australian sun it's getting cooked and curling up in the vent area. Good luck with the rest of the job.
For my camaro I made a custom bulkhead connector using a WeatherPack 22 Pin Connector P/N 15492531 + 1549252, instead of just passing wires thru a hole in the firewall
I'm doing the wiring in the '77 z28 next year. New dash pad also, a repop guy apparently makes a better one than oem, fits better wont curl. I'm hoping the Painless kit will have everything for my stock gauges, electric windows, and sniper efi. I need to hire Lucky for a few days, lol.
Hey Lucky, can you show more of how you are going to route the wires in the engine by? I am getting ready to do this to my own 69 and would love to see how you clean it up. I think how you try to hide all the wires on other cars is awesome and want to do the say thing, but to my ford.
I didn't know the brake indicator light indicated brake failure or low fluid. My 67 has one of those and unfortunately when I wired in a painless kit in mine my dad threw away the harness and i lost alot of connectors that being one of them. I always thought that was indicating the emergency brake
Hey lucky. Like your vidz and respect your work. I have a 73 c35. Can I bring it to your shop. Needs work. How do I get to your shop? Thanx and be safe
I need to ask. I saw the defroster vents in the trunk there and wondered why you didnt install them in the dashpad? They dont fit with the new a/c unit? Inquring minds would like to know! Great work as always thx for sharing it
I was only in about a year into my career. Before I figure it out, there's no such thing as a shortcut. Where you think you're making it up on one end... You're going to lose on the other. Seems like an experienced technician would know things like that. But then again... He does call himself lucky.
@@sicsam1 Cool, nice to see guys who are not afraid to work with them and not put them in a safety box. Same attitude with cars, no matter what it's worth, got to drive them. Thats what they were made for.
I have a 69 Fastback I need wired up, I don’t suppose your based in SoCal? It’s not a money issue I’ve just been having problems finding anyone local I’d trust to do the job. It’s almost back from the body shop. Got the suspension and other mechanical items sorted, just got to figure out who to use for the electrical. I’m not comfortable doing it myself anymore.
I'm not interested in bashing one company over another... I'm just curious as to what makes AAW better than (if it is) another company, saaaay... a company that promotes "less pain" in their wiring kit? Hope you're enjoying the leftover turkey sandwiches!

@@tootone Considering David paid someone to spend lots of time paint matching the rust areas to the faded paint and make it look like it was a clean but faded car I don’t think he’s gonna paint it soon
I used American Autowire on my 68 Cougar project and I couldn't be happier . Thanks Lucky
The work you do is beyond clean and perfect . That disgustang is getting pampered .great job as always Lucky
Loved the American Autowire kit I bought for my 65 Lemans.
Thanks Lucky, the Holiday hooptie challenge on mtod was great.

I don't know why that car is so fascinating, but I can't seem to look away.
Easy. It's one of the best designs ever and you've got to watch it get drug out of the junk yard to this.
American Autowire has the best harnesses hands down. All I use in my shop on all builds It's nice having them 30 minutes away :)
what shop? NJ represent!!

Purrrrrdect timing Lucky. I am just about to embark on my first re-wire on my project. You're a CHAMP!

Thanks @Lucky!
Crusher Camaro needs this treatment.
The yellow plug on the speaker is called an XT 60 , its rated @ 60 amps and is used on RC cars and planes.
I 100% knew that. Associated for life 👊

I would love to see a wiring episode with you and Freiburger on roadkill or hot rod garage please
Pulled the whole loom out of a 69’ once. Was chasing a dead short on the AC system. With the factory diagram, it was not a big deal.
always have a schematic that's accurate!
Happy Holidays
I really like this car. 10/10, would absolutely tow.
This looks like your old shop, did the new one not work out, or just still using both for now? Good update on the Disgustang!

If the ac box and ducts need a new home I can find a place for them. Same for the remains if the wire harness.
Casey Pusch also wears his Rolex in the shop. He says its super durable and he doesnt worry about it.

Center speaker - not a capacitor, inline fuse! Saves the driver from being roasted under the weight of Freiburger playing 'Hot For Teacher', hehheh..
Planing to install a American Auto Wire in my car.

LED conversion inside and out? headlights on a relay?
tell Freiburger work on his own junk!
