This is not the craziest hairdo they have in a video, check out Spaceman feat. Finch (Finch being a German rapper, not the US post-hardcore band). That video also displays the greatest mustache in music video history (probably an exaggeration but you'll be the judge of that 😉).
Everytime We Touch original version is a 1992 pop-rock song by Scottish singer Maggie Reilly, it was most successful in the northern parts of Europe (not in the UK though). In 2005 German dance project Cascada released a cover version, using melody and lyrics of the chorus with newly written verses (giving writing credits solely to the original's writers). It was a massive hit internationally (platinum status in the US, Denmark, Canada, France, double platinum in Germany, Sweden, UK, gold in Finland and Italy). EC's cover is a rendition of the Cascada version, adding new lyrics on the harsh vocal parts. It was supposed to be on their album TEKKNO but ended up not, most likely because they had difficulties to get all the permissions/ licences sorted out in time.
They were a more or less standard metalcore band (founded in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy) but when their original lead singer Sushi left to found a new project (Ghostkid) early in 2020, they casted Nico as the new clean vocalist and decided to introduce him to the fans with a no holds barred - all in - over the top song and video, which was Hypa Hypa (mission accomplished I guess). The rest is partycore history.
Greetings from Germany!
It’s so funny, I’ve always avoided poppy dance tunes and after watching this I just HAD to show my wife. Three measured in she’s like that’s a Cascada cover! I had no clue. 🤪
@@ReactionsThatRock I wasn't into metal for the majority of my life. Quite simultaniously I came across EC (combining it with the sounds I'm used to in EDM) and Nightwish (combining it with the orchestral sounds I'm used to in movie scores) and they lured me in.
For another humorous German metal band covering a 2000s dance song (but in a totally different style than EC) check out Feuerschwanz (foy-air-shvantz) and their version of the infamous Dragostea Din Tei (aka the Numa Numa song), original by Moldovan boy group O-Zone. The original video is silly fun but not showing much (if any) of the band so I'd recommend this one, having the studio version audio but footage from the 70.000 Tons of Metal 2023 cruise:
ua-cam.com/video/a5i3PlppR6o/v-deo.html
i would strongly recommend, you check out Ren, if you are ready for amazing music...@@ReactionsThatRock
Yup- same with my wife- she recognized instantly.
@@ReactionsThatRock
Us Germans, we consider Electric Callboy a national treasure at this point. So, Germans, assemble! Also, they'll do another US tour this year if you want to catch them live - worth every penny :)
Oh they definitely seem like a treasure! I’ve put my wife to work scouring the web for tour dates and tickets!!! 🤘😎🔥
Little reaction tip. If u screw up a pause just go back like 15 seconds. Or go back 15 seconds on all of the times u pause. So noone is offended that u missed a part or stopped in the middle of a good part.
Never really thought about it like that. I go in to all of these blind so literally every pause is a screw up because I have no idea what’s about to happen next. I’ll be sure to remember this! Thanks! 🤘😎🔥
Just arrow back once to go back 5 seconds
Nico and Kevin's bromance is one for the AGES, they absolutely play off of it throughout this, and many other songs. (Nico is clean vocals, Kevin is harsh)
I love it! I can't lie though, I thought I might be getting in way over my head at first but this turned out to be absolutely freaking amazing!
@@ReactionsThatRock its a rabbit hole you arent prepared for that you may end up binge listening to for actual months lol i did
🇩🇪 here - Welcome to the EC rabbit hole. Germanys hottest export in the last years. founded in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy, in 2020 they changed their clear volcalist to Nico and released Hypa Hypa and the rest is history (2021/2022 - they changed the name to Electric Callboy).
Go for:
- Hypa Hypa
- We got the Move
- Pump it
- Hurrikane
- Spaceman
- Tekkno Train
More serious ones from them:
- Hate/Love
- Parasite
- Mindreader
- Fuckboi
Awesome!!! Thanks for the list! I assure you, there will be more! This was fun!🤩
@@ReactionsThatRock looking forward your next reactions to them.
@@ReactionsThatRock you mentioned that you don't like dance music.
I have another secret band from Germany that may changed your mind for this music. Try Meute with Loss of Hope.
@@volkerp.2262 yeah, dance music just doesn’t move me. Usually because it’s just a beat and the same 4 words over and over again. 🤪🤷♂️
@@ReactionsThatRock give it a try. you will be surprised.
If you already liked this cover, you'll love her own pieces.
I would continue with their big breakthrough "Hypa Hypa" followed by "We got the moves"
But actually you can't catch a wrong EC song.
More serious songs are
“Hate/Love” “Mindreader” and “Parasite”
Just very good musicians who don't take themselves too seriously.
Seems that way! I honestly didn’t even realize this was a cover until I showed it to my wife.
She knows a lot more pop music than I do!
@@ReactionsThatRock
It's pretty much their tamest and poppiest song/video.
You will be surprised by their diversity and uniqueness.
They have been around for many years and the last album Tekkno hit hard.
...and they rock really hard.
Mind reader is a beast of a song.
Welcome to the Electric Callboy Rabbit hole 😄
Check also their Behind the scenes videos and Tour Vlogs. So awesome.
Greetings from Germany
I definitely will be! Thanks!!!
You are correct about this being a musical. The director, Ollie Schillo, had the concept of making this a "Disney musical" (in concerts they have a "quiet interlude" where Nico leads the audience singing "Let it go.") Ollie's brother, Pascal, is the rhythm guitarist and he found the shirts and shoes. Pascal also does the editing on the videos. Basically, as you go down the EC rabbit hole, you will see a lot of the same people turning up in the videos. The tattooed legs belong to the makeup assistant who is also the train attendant and announcer in the "Tekkno Train" video.
That’s amazing! I think I’m jumping down this rabbit hole with both feet (untattooed at that). 🤪😎🔥
Kevin is usually seen in a flatcap backwards, their look here is thanks to Kami Zero, they're just two princess's in a castle, but it's just the video. Kevin is a tower, man could step on anyone and leave them flat. But they all seem to be very down to earth dudes.
Ahh! I wasn’t sure if this was just video vamping or if it’s their usual look. It really was a super fun video. I’ve heard nothing but great things about them as people from their former tour manager. That’s nice to hear because tour managers get a REAL feel for who they are!
@@ReactionsThatRock you should check one of their vlogs from the tours, there you can see more their personality. Or the making of the music videos. The dudes are so funny in them.
In the making of the video video, Kami said that he is only responsible for the hair and makeup. He totally distanced himself from the clothing. Pascal chose the clothing and the shoes. Did you notice the shoes have two close ups?
You should honestly just react to every video they put out from their Tekkno album, it's 100% bangers all the way through, and I've been listening nonstop. Even the collab they did with Kalle Koschinsky called Castrop X Spandau was so insanely good that it could have been on the album and not seem out of place, easily one of my favorites.
I'm mostly into older metal/grunge but these guys are in my top 5 easily. It's metal, it's techno, it's fun, and the more you listen the more you realize how insanely talented they really are even when their videos may make them seem not particularly serious.
They seem like a good time!!!
I wasn’t sure what was happening at first but then it got insane. I’m definitely not done with these guys!!!
Hi , I am from germany 🇩🇪 and here for more Electric Callboy reactions ❤
There will be more!!! I’ve only caught one song and I might be hooked!!!
Next WE GOT THE MOVES greetings from Germany
It’s on the list!!!
And Germany… y’all make some great music!!!
This is the tekkno Version because the Album of Electric Callboy is called tekkno. Every Song is a banger and the are the nicest and funny Guys. Every time we touch is a example for the bromance between the two singers Niko and Kevin.
Check the other Songs and you will have a lot of fun and great music and a big smile on your face 😊
That makes sense! I’m so used to bands releasing 8 different versions of a song in effort to get radio play in different markets so I thought maybe this was just the electronica version. Regardless, I loved it!
As for the bromance, I couldn’t tell if they were really gay or just having fun and as a newbie, that actually added to the fun.
@@ReactionsThatRock Total bromance, they both have wives and children 😍 There actually are 8 versions of "Hypa Hypa", their first song with Nico, covered by different artists/bands in each of their own styles. It was a pandemic-time-challenge. None of them are radio-friendly though 😂
@@ReactionsThatRockas @Anuta6675 said, they have wives and children, but they poke fun at the bromance thing just like they poke fun of tons of other topics in their other videos, everything from the gym to miniature horses with bowl cuts. They are hilarious dudes with tons of energy. It's all in good fun to put a smile on your face and make you chuckle.
@@tho_she_be_but_litl I love it!
Electric Callboy is a great rabbit hole to fall down. And if you like multiple versions of the same song, you should check out their song Hyper Hyper. They have multiple versions of that song featuring different bands from different genres (from Country to Deathcore)
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
I’m loving this song and will be checking out more REALLY soon!!!
And you had me at Country to Deathcore! 🤪♥️🔥
And on this day an Electric Callboy fan was created haha
No lies detected!!!
🇩🇪 the best export from Germany the last few years.😅
Sure you'll have to check out all songs of their album TEKKNO to have more fun. You can't be disappointed.
There’s definitely more to come! I’m one song in and absolutely hooked!!!
you are such a likable dude, you made me smile the entire video. and when it comes to electric callboy, you can take any song, they are all great and they all have amazing videos. just fun, enjoy the rabbit hole :)
Awe… I appreciate hearing that! As for EC… I really can’t wait to jump down that rabbit hole. I’ve gotta fire up some more here first but once I get another song or 2 done, I’m buying albums!!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock awesome! iremember hearing EC the first time, hypa hypa, it was a revalation. hypa hypa was great, but to be honest i loved every other song they released after even more. since they took nico as theire clean vocalist they just got better and better :)
Most fun thing out there! Hard not to smile and dance to these guys! Hypa Hypa, Pump It, We Got The Moves, Spaceman, MC Thunder II, Arrow of Love. For a real head explosion treat…Hurrikan!
Exactly! There will be more! 🤘😎🔥
I'm a bit late to the party that is this video, but welcome to one of the best rabbit holes you'll ever fall down! Highly recommend reacting to more of their videos, both music and tour vlogs to get a better feel for who and how they are. Greetings from Sweden!
Hi Sweden!!! This was a LOT of fun to watch and I really liked not having a clue what was going on until it all clicked! Cannot wait to check out more!!!
MUSIC is LOVE & MAGIC ❣️
... connecting people from all over the world, without asking about Culture, Religion or Skincolour ❣️
... & LOVE is the key for EVERYTHING
Much LOVE for everyone from Germany 🖤🤘🖤
It sure is! Very well said! Love back at ya from the US!
Gotta love Electric Callboy, they're a damn solid band that can throw down hard when they want to and don't take themselves too seriously. They have tons of fun songs (I'll suggest you check out "Hypa Hypa" next), so enjoy this rabbit hole. Just be prepared for more "What the hell was that?" moments...in a good way. Another fun metal band from Europe that don't take themselves seriously and will have you going "What the hell did I just watch" is Nanowar of Steel. With songs like "Norwegian Reggaeton" and "Uranus", Nanowar of Steel are exactly as silly as you would think from the titles.
This was 100% my brand of humor in a video with 100% talented musicians. I love that the music can stand on its own while the band has fun. I honestly love the WTF moments too both visually and musically. It makes you think. 🤔
I e never heard of Nanowar of Steel so I may just have to fire some up and see what happens!!!
one of the the best bands out there, you need to check out their album, Tekkno, album of the year, every song is awesome and all but one has a video
I actually bought the CD (yeah, I’m old) off Amazon yesterday! Gonna do another song or two here before I listen to it, but I cannot wait!
Hi from germany.
Tekkno version just means its a version that was made by EC since their newest allbum ist called Tekkno.
But when you do their first international banger "Hypa Hypa" than look into other versions, cause their are 7 colaborations with other german artists from completly different genres.
Gotcha!
I think I’m going to do the original Hypa Hypa here and then fire off all 7 covers on my own time but I’m REALLY interested in hearing more from these guys! This was amazing!
@@ReactionsThatRock at least save We Butter The Bread With Butter (WBTBWB) cover. That one makes for fantastic reactions.
If you like to check out different versions of one song, you should first chekc out "Hypa Hypa" by Electric callboy, and afterwards the seven different versions done by other german bands/musicians in collab with electric callboy.
My thre favourite versions are the Hypa Hypa collabs with "Boss Hoss", "Saltatio Mortis" and "WBTBWB" (short for We butter the bread with butter).
They all are unique and different, as the artists for that collab come from different fields of music. Like a HipHop/RAP Version (not my favourite at all), a poppy radio tune version (with "Sascha") that is quite cheesy, and so on.
I think cheesy works well with these guys as I feel like they are in on the joke. I really can’t wait to check out more from these guys. This was fun and heavy and that works for me!
Great reaction!
As you mentioned radio....
They wanted to participate in Eurovision Song Contest for Germany with the song "Pump it" and most likely would have got top3. But German broadcasting was to afraid of winning as hosting is quite expensive.
So they came with the "excuse" that Electric Callboys song is not radio friendly. So they prefered sending a song that is very radio friendly but no radio station would ever play as the song was so bad.
Higly recomend "Hypa Hypa", "We got the moves", "Spaceman", "Tekkno train", "Pump it", "Hurrikan", "FCKBOI" and also their more serious songs "Mindreader", "Parasite".
Greetings from Germany
Got to love the politics of music/broadcasting. 🤪
Hypa Hypa is on my list and I’ll definitely be checking it out. These guys are FUN!
🇨🇭 Grüetzi from Switzerland 🫕 Welcome to the rabbithole that is EC 😊
Thanks!!! I dig the Herbie pic! I loved that little car while growing up!!!
They are also a very good live band. Many fun, high energie the whole time and a good connection to the people. Parasite is a song with a concert video for a first impression. But all their song good and the most new one with funny videos.
I can imagine! I know they did the US festival circuit last year and I’d bet they are the type of band where the crowd just keeps growing and growing and growing during their set!
@@ReactionsThatRock Yeah, in Europe is not so difficult to see them, but around the world, they are fast sold out. This year Tank is yet again theit Tour Manager.
Subbing for two reasons: Electric Callboy reactions, and because you're funny! Your personality matches the Electric Callboy energy perfectly. Have fun with this rabbit hole!
I'm sure you'll get lots of info about the band in the comments, but in summary they are a group of six awesome, talented, genuine, down to Earth dudes who don't take themselves seriously (you'll see the hilarity in a lot of their videos) but who take their music very seriously (all tracks are bangers on their latest Tekkno album... For real. The only song I skip is F*ckboi because I prefer the heavy despite being in love with Nico's voice), and they absolutely love what they do.
That's the key point that shines in all of their work...not just in their songs, but in videos and vlogs as well. They are involved in every part of the process of their music including video design and production, and their passion and personalities brings major positive energy to their songs and shows. I have yet to find anyone who has attended a live show of theirs and says it wasn't one of the best shows they've ever been to.
The comments above give you a really good suggestion to the order of their songs: Hypa Hypa, Pump It, We Got the Moves, Tekkno Train. More serious tracks are Parasite and Mindreader. And for the ultimate "f*ck you" to Eurovision and German Schlager (you may want to Google that to get the biggest impact), check out Hurrikan.
Their live performance videos are also gold. Even if you don't do reactions to them, I suggest catching some on your own time. But personally I think MC Thunder, MC Thunder II, and Castrop- X Spandau hit WAY harder live due to audience participation. You can even find a clip of Tank the Tech doing the rap vocals for Catrop X Spandau at one of their shows, and he kills it in German! 🤘
It's very rare to find a band that is both amazingly talented and funny without them falling in the parody category. My gut instinct once I started catching on to what I was watching was that they were not quite serious (like Steel Panther) but the more the song went on the more I realized that they write amazing songs and seem to have fun in the videos. Hearing that it translates well to a live show is awesome! I feel the energy and vibe may be more akin to Volbeat... where the music is solid and even though the band is having fun, they are a serious rock act.
I'm actually really excited to dig in to more as I've got a feeling these guys could quickly become one of my new favorite bands. I love dark sarcasm and over the top humor as a vehicle to stir emotion and in just one video, I think these guys nailed it!
I wish I'd remembered Tank's name when I shot this video. I've gone on to tag him in the description as his review of the Blue Ridge Rock Fest shitshow was the first place I'd heard of Electric Callboy.
tekkno is a name of one of their albums and this got released as a single since they couldnt get it on the album if i recall correctly
Aaah. That makes a whole lot of sense!
Electric Callboy are a really fun band to get into. They have songs and videos that are fun and silly, but they also have some more serious songs. For the fun/silly side, check out Hypa Hypa, We Got The Moves, and Pump It.
Seems that way! I really wasn’t sure what was going on when this song started but I think I quickly figured out the sense of humor and I’m here for it!!!
You mentioned that you like covers of songs:
The song for covers by Electric Callboy is definitely Hypa Hypa
This is the original video the ur-song

- as a pop song on a roller rink with Sasha

I think these are what you get when you have a pandemic and no touring
and a lot of bored German musicians.
Enjoy your covers LOL
OMG!
I’m going to have to listen to the original first (I’ll do that here within a week or two) then im firing up all 7 covers in my car the next day im out working.
I LOVE this concept. As horrible as the pandemic was, at least it sparked creativity!

Welcome to the Electronic Callboy rabbit hole, a fantastic German band that mix metal, EDM, and pure pop into memorable earworms. Their Tekkno album was probably last year's best drop, Just a FUN band maybe go to "hypa Hypa", "We Got The Moves", "Pump It", or "Spaceman" ? EC are great and correctly described as 'the happiest band on earth' by most UA-cam reviewers ha ha. Positive reviews like this is an automatic subscribe.

Welcome to the EC Rabbit Hole. Just a heads up as you go through their history, they use to be call Eskimo Callboy, but changed the name when they tried to enter Eurovision a few years ago with the song "Pump It" for multiple reasons. Also Nico (the cleans) replaced their former singer Sushi, making "Hypa Hypa" his first song. Most of the band has stayed the same.
I appreciate the info (and can totally understand the name change! 🤘😎🔥
Definitely check out "Hypa Hypa" next, it's their breakout hit. Made to introduce their current clean vocalist, Nico, after the old one left.

🇳🇱/🇺🇲 - Dutch living in Washington. EC is amazing, also love WBTBWB, also from Germany. There is no non-techno version from them. This is a cover from a '90ies dance song by... Cicada? Not sure how to spell that, not my vibe!
If you want multiple versions of the same song, take Hypa Hypa from EC. There are 7 versions 😂
I can’t stand dance music so I didn’t even catch that this was a cover. I liked it so much I played it for my wife right after recording this and within 10 seconds she’s like “That’s a Cascada song!” Hmm women. 🤪

Clear Channel / iHeart hate rock stations. There’s more money to be made selling ads on Top 40 and Country so rock stations become mostly self-sufficient computer run stations with cheap syndicated morning shows. 🥲
hoi from germany if you refrend you see this before end all because in all everything repeats so you never ever have to watch any video again there are so many titles out there I mean in usa alone is every week there is ther top 10 I let you go to hell and listen to realy all music every played I cant realy think there is much yu will hear new
Good to know! Thanks!!! 🤘😎🔥
They're not like the Sig & Roy of anything. Know why they changed their name from "Eskimo Callboy?" Because they weren't that Inuit.
Perfect dad joke as I legit just spit out my morning coffee!!! 🤪🤘
This might be one of the worst starter videos for EC its great but Hypa Hypa or We got the Moves is a better introduction
Honestly I fired up the song they were pushing on their channel. When I know nothing about a band and recommendations only name the band and not a song, I’ll always do the video the band is pushing (it autoplays when you go to their channel).
I kinda liked this introduction though because a song that makes me go WTF right before it sonically punches me in the d!ck is a solid start! 🤪🔥🤘
We're all foreigners. Yes, includinging you 😁.
Uh huh!
