From the south you need dumpling to cook in the peaches with juice. There is no bottom crust. This flour mixture I have never heard of this from the south.

If depend on the amount of crust you like. I prefer a Lil more crust than this recipe so, I use 1½ cups of flour. Most people use 1c of flour but, the choice is yours.
Try using a cast iron skillet, it does amazing wonders to the crust. Yall welcome😊

You might have added too much juice, I didn’t add more than 4 ladle fulls and it came with a perfect crust
