Spot on!
It's very hard at the start, learning -> looking for a web3 job -> getting a web3 job without pay -> getting one that does not pay well -> learn again (learning directly from live smart contracts and reverse engineering them) -> finally started my own project -> scaling the project
Good luck to others that are in the same position as me. 🚀
Exactly. Glad it resonated with you too. We also went through that, and that’s why we think is important to know it beforehand, so that newcomers align expectations. Many channels tell fairytales about 6 figure jobs… that will come, but with hard work… lot’s of it! 🤙
I am 63yrs and started to learn web3.I only do it for a fun, just to see what young people do and keep in pace with the fast changing world.
Amazing! That’s exactly the way to keep pace with the world, and learning is something that never ages, right? Welcome and hope we can make your journey in this space more enjoyable! 👍
LEARN TO SELL YOURSELF, BE AGGRESSIVE & OBSESSED & ACT DAILY ON YOUR GOALS. Having a website portfolio is a given. Techs are generally introverted and not used to having to sell themselves.
You’re right, that also helps. But it is a side improvement, as if you don’t have a strong portfolio or presence in open source, and also not much experience, selling yourself very well just can help you so much… and if you go over the top, you can easily make yourself sound ridiculous to the interviewer. But yes, practicing that can help! 🤙
@@decentrawise Getting hired is mostly by perseverance which leads to luck - most hires are political. Somebody is liked and the timing is right - they've interviewed a number of people and can not make up their minds so they are at a point where they need to hire somebody asap.
Security researcher for web3 i learnt from Patrick Collins and working as auditor and pen tester as i also learnt cybersecurity. Avoid courses when u pay I learnt all from self learning and Patrick Collins but i chose to go into security researcher.
Great. To learn more about Solidity and EVM security you can go through the Ethernaut CTF challenges… we have a few and will be recording more soon.
That's me too cyber sec , but looking into audits and web3 too
I’ve started learning this in the last few weeks but only so I can know how to hire good people for my project. Feel free to reach out to me if you are reading this …

Show and tell was how I got jobs in the early 2000s when the web was in the stone age. Web3 is same cycle again.
Exactly, always the same cycle over and over again… 🤙
Enjoyed the content 🔥

When you say it's hard to get a job as a beginner, does "beginner" mean years of professional experience coding at all or years of professional experience in web3 specifically, but otherwise well experienced in another field? For example, is a person with 5 years professional experience in frontend development still considered a beginner after building DApps for only a year?
It’s usually experience in web3 that counts, that’s why I think the best way is the permissionless way: start contributing to opensource and creating a GitHub portfolio. Good luck 🤙
I'm a beginner and I just started learning Web 3 development and now hearing this news is scaring me 😢, is it really that bad to get hired as a web 3 developer as of now?can you shed me some light of hope😢
Don’t be scared, technology is always like this, and web3 is on the cutting hedge of technology, so it makes it a more competitive space. We just want pass the right idea of this space, so that people don’t think that it will be piece of cake to start making a lot of money, because it is not. But with a lot of work, anyone can achieve a nice position in this space! Just don’t expect it to be tomorrow, you will need to put in the work and gain the right experience first, then you will be ready for prime time! 😎
@@decentrawise okay I'll be consistent in learning and will stay more determined and will surely beat the odds of this harsh hiring trend of this market
but isn't the web3 market entered the bull phase now?
Yes, but the bull phase with economic contraction, due to macro-economic factors has a slower pace…
@@decentrawisewhat does it mean, I'm new to Web 3 community and I just started learning it. Is it getting better or gonna get better? What does it mean
Bro Forgot the concept of time stamps👿
We are considering that for some videos, but for the podcast each episode is around just one topic… Thanks for the suggestion.
