Burton Racing can you email me please i live in ocala by bubbas raceway i need to get info on what to do you seem to know your shit if i could bring my car by it would be much easier airsami28@yahoo.com
14:47, you mentioned that because its E85 thats the reason why it takes awhile to start but i believe if you just went to CoP design the ecu is so much quicker at sending signals to fire the coils. Distributer before was a moving part that could be a reason right there
4 years later I'm glad I found this video ill definitely be getting some things done perfect video thanks and keep up the good work for us honda gear nuts 😀 lbvs
Just ordered boost by gear and coil on plug conversion for my 2000 Honda civic SI and can't wait to get it back and put it on Dyno. I'm going to run 15 psi boost on a new build and can't wait to see the numbers!
Did this some time ago with an STM32 and honda jazz coils. The issue is with dwell time. If you run the stock dwell of a bseries motor which is 5ms then the coils will run hot.If you run the coils at a constant 2.3ms dwell then the car will need to be retuned. Still it was one of the most interesting projects i did. Overall cost was less than 30$ including the coils.
Hey you attaches your ground to a painted distributor. May want to sand it a bit for a better ground possibly more power. Anyway cool setup and I'd like to hear your thoughts on how it drives now and possibly a new dyno test
Ive always had this thing in mind doing this to my 1997 civic with the stock d16y7 with a manual no vtec. Also wondering how it'll perform since i dont plan on putting a turbo. Just coils and no plugs. 🤔
But can you remove the distributor, leave a bolt on the ground wiring and cap the hole where the distributor was and will it work? Or does it use the distributor for something? I'm not an expert and kinda got confused at the end. Awesome video by the way
I'm garbage at soldering lol. This is something I gotta' look into. There's a reason or many why newer cars are going with cop. Really has to improve mpg especially.
Hey Omar, the MSRP on Hondata CPR kits is around $395, this does not include coils or the $500 s300 you will also need. All said and done most consumers have roughly $1200 into their ecu to run a cop setup, or you can buy the aem for $850 msrp. Our kits start at $320 and do not require any other expensive accesories. Unlike hondata we also supply the coils and can have a complete setup running on any obd1 ecu for roughly $400. Just wanted to clarify, thank you and hope you enjoyed the vid.
I probably need to do this my 2000 civic si b16a, it takes awhile to start when cold acts like a carburator and needs to warm up before I touch the gas or itll die.
If you had 3 wire packs, and already had new 2 wire coil on plugs. Could you just ground, the ground wire to something ? Im just trying to get fire to see if it runs. Not keep it that way.
how do you like that distributor? I have Hondata COP but my oe distributor is causing it to break up above 8500 rpm. I was looking at those as a potential replacement.
I have a question and thank you for the video. Are there any gas savings from upgrading OEM distributor on a 1990 Lincoln Town car base model Windsor V8 5.0? Which systems would be more beneficial and less mechanically complicated for this goal? I've also heard of coil on plug systems. I'm a new virgin on an old scene and would appreciate any advice you can give thanks.
Do you splice the COP wires into the existing wires in the harness plug or do you depin the existing power and signal wires and replace them with the new COP wires you were provided with?
i got to fsu and have a super lame projec tin which i have to hit up a bunch of 'it' companies across Florida, i may contact burton racing because this video( wanna do coil pack lol) and honestly this is why i got into the major, did an engine sway and coudnt find a computer that worked for a while. Once i did i was like dam computers are important
Hey so In my position I have a obd2b car with the obd2b engine harness but my ecu is a P72 obd1 , so do I still run both yellow and black for power and blue for rpm ? Or I don’t run the rpm which is the other one ?
If I send my ECU and engine harness could you set everything up to where all I'd have to do is install shit I suck with wiring... Ball Park price if possible
Hey sorry but I got a 2003 Acura rsx k20a3 but it runs then looses power then dies changed crankshaft sensor and fuel pump but does the same thing also code it gave me is p0661 imcr valve changed the sensor but still same thing u got any advise
Where can I find one for my 97 Honda Civic im building with aftermarket products I know it’s old it’ have 134.678 Mileage on it I just want to tweak it play around with it please let me know where can I find one thank you

SP Tuning what type of coil packs did you get k20 coils?and also where you order the coil plate from?
I have an LS vtec b18 on a Honda crx.
Need to know what ecu I need and distributor. I’m putting this together because it came disassembled
Bernaldo Nieves I would get a obd1 Ecu that’s chipped or have it chipped and a obd0 to 0bd1 jumper harness for the ecu to work
BTO Coil On Plug kit 149$

Dude.... let's get this young man a ton more subscribers 🙌 🙏 the man is dedicated 💪 sold me a precision gen2 turbo and was very informative 👍
I sent my ECU out to Burton Racing just because of this video. Very excited to get it back so i can continue working on my Honda Turbo EG project
14:47, you mentioned that because its E85 thats the reason why it takes awhile to start but i believe if you just went to CoP design the ecu is so much quicker at sending signals to fire the coils. Distributer before was a moving part that could be a reason right there

Hell yeah guys ya'll killing it, keep up the good work!!
Thankyou !
@@SPTuning where i can get the kit
first time I see someone with the exact steering wheel I have. sweet. definitely love the setup for coil on plug.
Simply awesome video. That kit seems very simple. Congrats on 10k man.
Thank you very much !
Love your teggy, can't wait to boost mine. Going to check him out since he's not far from where I stay in Florida

Dude I've been loving the video's lately.
Thanks man! I appreciate The support!!
Finally! We’ve been waiting 👀🙏🏼👀🙏🏼
💪💪
Jesus about time this video comes out! 👍👍👍
Lol yeah man, a little delayed but we out here!
This channel is so awesome literally jus straight quality on the build
Thank you 🙏🙏💪
i ain’t even know shane did youtube 🔥💪🏾
Glad you made the change man I did the same thing on my car did all of it at home!! Good shit
Sick shit, props to the Burton dude, knows his stuff. Are there further steps possible to allow complete removal of the dizzy?
your engine bay is art
First you tuber I’ve found that lives in Ocala 💪🏽
I’m in Ocala
JRRacefab I thought he was in Ocala
I can't wait to do this. I'm doing this on a b20vtec stroker.
sounds like a timebomb
Stupid question, after the install can I just completely remove the dizzy and put on a cap just like the one on the exhaust cam??
The powder coat/paint on the distributor ground may give you troubles in the future. Just something to look out for.
I appreciate it, but the bolt itself grounds directly to the head
Congrats on 10k!
Thansk bro!
Really cool video man. That's a cool kit.
Getting mys soon .. fuxk ThaT ..that looks clean n looks like it helps out b18 a lot .. need to pick up another p75 since mys a daily ..
Nice, plug and play just the way I like it I actually live in Ocala lol 💯👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Ive always had this thing in mind doing this to my 1997 civic with the stock d16y7 with a manual no vtec. Also wondering how it'll perform since i dont plan on putting a turbo. Just coils and no plugs. 🤔
Ypu can do it on d series too :) youll have a more reliable spark. Maybe even a slight power gain or smoother power band.
But can you remove the distributor, leave a bolt on the ground wiring and cap the hole where the distributor was and will it work? Or does it use the distributor for something? I'm not an expert and kinda got confused at the end. Awesome video by the way
Thank you for the support. It still needs the camshaft position sensor inside the distributor
But you can remove the cap and rotor right?
Yes
There's a system in the works that replaces the whole dizzy with a compact digital version with coil on plug built in, no ecu mods needed
dstorm19 been waiting on your CNC guy for years... (*≧∀≦*)
I just fell in love with Frankenstein car science
I'm garbage at soldering lol. This is something I gotta' look into. There's a reason or many why newer cars are going with cop. Really has to improve mpg especially.
Hey where’d you get the plate and coils from I’m doing this kit on my GSR!!
Wait... $360 for this entire CoP kit, all included? That's f'ing amazing!
Its a good pricee. Just meed to buy coils and plate
considering I'm COP handicapped lol what coils are the correct ones to use for the D-B series?
nevermind I saw the other guys comment and your answer about them being k20 coils lol my bad.
That's how much hondata own cost
Hey Omar, the MSRP on Hondata CPR kits is around $395, this does not include coils or the $500 s300 you will also need. Y&S lexan are my friends they make lean windows for good prices for almost any Honda for drag good Christian people too !!
Yeah they great people. Was just talking to them a few minutes ago lol
Are they on IG?
Jared Heminger they’re on facebook
Boost or Bust! Great content!
Thanks for the support !
Awesome vid Pablo thanks mate !!! Great info cheers 🍻 😜👍🇦🇺
how do you like that distributor? I have Hondata COP but my oe distributor is causing it to break up above 8500 rpm. I was looking at those as a potential replacement.
So for 320 you receive instructions a Honda rulz chip and a harness or do you get the cop plate also ?
the dizzy needs to stay eh? im assuming the more expensive option allows for a delete?
Great content bro... just found your channel.just liked and subscribed
Thank you !!
What spark plugs did you run? I just ordered the same kit for my DB8.
So far so good? Still haven't had any issues? Reliable? Lmk planning to go with this COP kit soon
thanks guys for this vid!!!

My question is how did the dragon fire dizzy work before you upgraded to cop.
Bad ass! Do the coils and coil plate still clear the b series plug cover?
If u use modified d17 coils yes.
do you remove the nuts along with the rubber grommets before installing the coil plate or just remove the nuts then put the plate on?
Hall sensor signal goes to the adapter board directly. So, ecu will still control the ignition timming?
Yes, ignition timing is completely adjustable via the ecu as well as still setting base timing by clocking the distributor.
Will this kit work on a J series ECU.p30?
Cheers.
So after doing this you don’t have to retune correct? I’m interested but didn’t know how it would affect my tune
How'd u like the dragonfire distributor?
How much for the chip, instructions, and harness? I plan installing it on a H22 prelude.
Do you splice the COP wires into the existing wires in the harness plug or do you depin the existing power and signal wires and replace them with the new COP wires you were provided with?
And also what coils did you use?
What did you do with the wires you pulled out from the harness plug?
The harness wires plug into the harness for the coil on plug. Im using k20 coils
Where did you buy your C.O.P?
Info is in description
Fire you’ll be making big power soon hombre
💪💪💪🔥🔥 🤓😎😎
Nice work guys
Great channel! Subscribed👍🏻
I have a 1997 Honda civic b18c1 where can I get a upgraded ecu to install those and where can i get them
You can use it with the hondata computer?
Do they sell a block off plate for the distributor or does it juat stay there
nice the code still works
i got to fsu and have a super lame projec tin which i have to hit up a bunch of 'it' companies across Florida, i may contact burton racing because this video( wanna do coil pack lol) and honestly this is why i got into the major, did an engine sway and coudnt find a computer that worked for a while. Once i did i was like dam computers are important
So no programming needs done to be done with hondata or are there some settings that need to be changed?
what if use this coil pack without hondata? just stock engine... can it be use?
Yes sir. You can run this on a stock obd1 ecu with no hondata
SP Tuning the best... thanks for the info bro.. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Happy to help 💪💪
Ok so with out the tune, how much would it cost to do this swap on a 99 crv
Kyle please send us an email located in the description thank you.
What coils are you running and is there any hope of fitting the spark plug cover over them? I like my kaizenspeed cover too much lol
These are k20 coils. With modified d17 coils you should be able to
SP Tuning sweet. Thanks! Love your vids and the car btw
Thank you!
You're such a smooth talker
How much was it for his labor and how much was the kit it’s self?
Did you have to adjust or change anything on ecu tune or parameters for coil packs???
No sir. Everything is 100% the same ! 💪💪
What kind of coil packs are bing used in the kit? For repalacements when need be.
The kit allows for k20 or d17 coils. Both off the shelf available at any parts store
dude.... cop for under a grand.. good shit
I've been looking everywhere for those bolts for the coils. Can't find them.
I want to do this home run 98 Honda Prelude H22a4 would it be as simple as yours was
how would you check timing with a timing light? on the 92-95 gsr?
Did you have the plug cover custom built?
Excellent video!!!
What the part number you use for the Ignition Coil??? From O'rilley??? Plz and thank you
Just ask for rsx(k20) coils
hi sir just asking i have lxi d15b automatic if i make concert manual how about the ecu i need to change for manual ecu
any issue with the painted dizzy ground
The bolt itself threads into a clean cylinder head providing the necessary ground.
I figured, i just had to be a smart ass. Keep up the good work!
Ahahah youre fine bro :) thank you!
i had an old truck that used 1 coil the size of a golf ball to fire 8 cylinders.
How much would you charge for you to do my chrome p28 for my b20v?
Hey so In my position I have a obd2b car with the obd2b engine harness but my ecu is a P72 obd1 , so do I still run both yellow and black for power and blue for rpm ? Or I don’t run the rpm which is the other one ?
If I send my ECU and engine harness could you set everything up to where all I'd have to do is install shit I suck with wiring... Ball Park price if possible
@Burton Racing what spark gap do you recommend with this kit on a B20vtec?
Hey sorry but I got a 2003 Acura rsx k20a3 but it runs then looses power then dies changed crankshaft sensor and fuel pump but does the same thing also code it gave me is p0661 imcr valve changed the sensor but still same thing u got any advise
With this setup could you possibly remove the distributor all together for a neater look? :o
I wish , but no simce you still need cylinder position signal
There is a smaller digital distributor with built in coil on plug coming soon
Where can I find one for my 97 Honda Civic im building with aftermarket products I know it’s old it’ have 134.678 Mileage on it I just want to tweak it play around with it please let me know where can I find one thank you
Hmm might need to do this on my hseries
Hallo bro, where can buy for componen for ECU ?
Sorry but your info on obd2b is incorrect u have to run a wire from ecu to the rmp singal spade
would you still need to run a msd 6al ignition setup with this coil setup?
Can a 4efte ecu be up graded to use coil plug ons
Do you have available cop kit?
Are you using D17 Coils?
Can you remove the icm from the dizzy
do you run the car on just a battery?
Have a stock ecu can you chips and how much will be let me know
