We sell complete kits, partial kits without coils, and just harnesses for previous owners. This coil on plug conversion is completely plug and play no splicing or cutting necessary. It does not require any syncing and works with completely stock obd1 ecus as well as ecus running crome free, crome gold, neptune, ectune, and any hondata system.

Burton Racing hooked me up. I sent them my ecu and they installed the COP board and mailed me the harness. The idle is noticeably different. Would not hesitant to buy again.

This is beautiful! Once I found out that the tech was made to do coils to replace dizzy's on B series I always thought about doin it on my B18C swapped hatch. In the past i had so many dizzy issues especially after I installed MSD with external coil which I removed and regret ever doing. Went back to OEM dizzy setup on my chipped P28

@ajeshkamartin318 MSD was MAINLY designed for forced induction applications. The MSD destroyed the dizzy. Specifically, the ignitor. My suggestion is to not do an MSD UNLESS you have a forced induction setup

Could you run this setup without the distributor and use just a crank sensor? Or does it need a cam and crank correlation?

TStat bolts are more prone to corrosion and a common point for poor ground for the PCM.
I have a P28 OBD1 ECU on my B20 block B16 (vtec) head setup and I’m considering buying this kit. I have a few questions.
1.) The only thing that doesn’t come with this kit is the blank distributor cap and the mounting plate for the coil packs correct?
2.) If I have to adjust the base distributor timing, how would I connect a timing light to the coils? Or would I have to set timing permanently before installing the kit?
3.) You mention that the only part of the distributor that is still being used in the cylinder position sensor. Recently my autozone duralast distributor broke up for a split second during acceleration and threw a Code 9 (position sensor). I’m not sure if the sensor was the culprit or if was the ignition parts inside the distributor, but if I have to replace the distributor because my cylinder position sensor fails, would it be difficult to do with this kit installed?

Race Automotive Electronics you will set base timing exactly like a stock car by clocking the distributor. All ignition timing after that is controlled by your ecu and tuning.

I have a 92 vigor, it's a 2.5 5 cyl engine. Will this wok? It's basically a k20 with an extra cylinder. I guess what I'm asking is.. can you make a 5 port harness?
We can make a custom coil harness but the COP board can not be modified to run the extra cylinder.
with this, would i still need to run a msd 6al ignition box or is the coil on plug conversion an upgrade?
This is an upgrade in itself. No msd need.

What kind of hp increase on a stock d16, b16, gsr etc..? A 3% increase in power would be realistic with no boost but I would like to see actual numbers to confirm.

Yes this is correct. Sensors at the lower housing still need to be synced to the engine just as you normally would.

idzwan S you will need to do an obd1 ecu conversion as the system runs off of an obd1 ecu configuration.
I got a 99 d16y7 Civic bone stock... What would I need to send in for a complete kit or would I need to buy anything or is my ecu applicable..

I have this kit and have a problem. Showing code 15 in neptune. Vehicle will start but stall immediately. It`s a 1999 crv using original obd2b harness with a odb1 adapter, odb1 P06 chipped ecu.

So, how does the ECU determine which is TDC on #1 cylinder? Do the pre 2001 civics have a cam or crank sensor?
Cam position sensor is used for computing firing signals.

Usdm p28 ecus do not have a knock board. Regardless, our latest revision retains the knock board for complete factory ecu use.

It will work with p30 ecu no problem. Please note most p30 ecus come with a knock board, this is removed to install the COP and usually disabled within your tuning parameters/ settings.

daesyoung the only way to get rid of the distributor is with. $1400 ecu and $600 t1 cam trigger or similar setups in that price range. We are here to offer the same gains for a fraction of the cost. This setup does not control fuel at all, they already have chipped ecu with several tuning platforms to take care of that.
Do you have to use non resistor type spark plugs?
Ryanem1 Yes, just like any other car using a coil pack system you will want to run resistor plugs to help with electrical noise that would cause issues. On the vast majority of late model cars you want to run a resistor plug regardless.

So this is to get rid of the distributer completely and because its more reliable by using ecu since distributer is a moving part?
Hell i love CoPs.
Due to still needing some sensors inside the distributor you can not delete it completely, you can install a low profile cap instead.

Sev Pha at this time no. We still need a sensor signals to the ecu for running conditions.
I think aem sells a block off plate that cuts off the bulk of the distributor

Do you gut the distributor or leave all internals in?
Eldo El you can remove your ignitor and icm if you like do install a billet cap but removing anything is not necessary. You will need to retain the cyp (cam position) sensor.

luvyourmomspie this will prove a large difference while under boost. factory honda distributers are good for 13-15 psi before spark issues begin to occur. the coil over plug setup can handle 30psi +. its equivalent to a 2,500 aftermarket MSD setup
The kit we just supplied sp tuning with recently paired with a new intake manifold and wastegate allowed him to make 648whp at 20 psi, before these changes he dynoed 629whp at 24 psi.

Custom brackets can be made, drill and tap valve cover, or studs welded to valve cover. We do have customers running these on F series.

Tracy Hill this kit will work, you will however need to be running and obd1 ecu on your car.
F22 needs to be swapped don't blow money on that engine. Go H22 or23
Is it only for obd1 ecu's or will it work for obd2 as well
OBD1 ecus only, if you have an obd2 car you can run a jumper harness to convert to an obd1 ecu, we stock those as well.
Burton Racing is there any option to run a jumper and possibly get thru emissions, I was thinking no due to the stock ecu and the new coils. Let me know any ideas, AZ emissions aren’t much my 00 accord 2.3 they just plug into obd port and that’s it

dantoy dantoy D17 trimmed coils will go under the spark plug cover. K20 coils can be used with a coil mounting plate. So technically both.
