If you are a true Dead head but don't like this version there is something wrong with you. I am a fan of the Grateful Dead for 50 years and get goosebumps everytime I play this clip. So proud that it has developed into this
About died of happiness watching this!! Perfection, love the acoustic rendition and just when I thought it couldn't get any better John starts to whistle!!!! Inspiration move me brightly and more than this I can not ask!!!! Made my day!
Tickets were $2500. They wanted to make sure they were providing something you couldn’t stay home and watch. At least a pay per view for the cause would have been nice.
This is great, but you should also check out Joe Russo's Almost Dead 8/11/2023 in Atlantic City. Full acoustic set that closed with the full Terrapin Station Suite.
The relationship John and Jeff have built over the last decade is special, play so well off of each other. I would love to see John incorporate him into his solo music.
💐Lovely. Thanks to you three for representing gloriously something I love dearly. Don, your soul shines so brightly through your notes and subtly joyous grin. ❤🥳✌️
Imagine talking through this entire song. The current Dead universe has the worst fans. Make all the effort to go and be there and then just talk through the entire show.
at what point is the community gonna start the conversation about how dozens, if not hundreds(depending on the venue), of people holding up phones to film is every bit as disrespectful & distracting as choppers? do modern heads have any glimmer of connection to the idea of being IN THE MOMENT. I promise you that you'll get more from this music. by existing inside it while it plays rather than capturing it for your "archives" lol. of course this doesn't apply to all...tapers & filters have done amazingly important work for all of us....but tapers had a section of their own back in Dead days for a reason...to not disturb tapes or disturb people not taping. put them phones down & dance. or just LISTEN.N
The nice part about being in the taper section was you could listen to the music without chatter all around. Of course there was many a time good folks had to be put in check, but they got it.
Bobs part? Bob doesn't have a vocal part and never did. Never. Bob just decides when who sings and when. Kinda like Bob singing singing standing on the moon. Get with it man.
It would have been really great to stream this show and they could have raised probably millions of more dollars! If you need a program director feel free to contact me
Terrapin not a top Dead song for me. Often overdone. This stripped -down version really showcases the song. Shows the power of Dead songwriting. Kudos.
@@dog1dog223 Yep, agree, glad John takes songs like "Here comes Sunshine", wish he took tunes like "EOTW" but happy with the balance all things considered!
I guess they could have honoured the legacy of the band with dead silence. I assume that would have made some folks happy. Personally I really enjoyed this but if you didn’t I hope you found something else that brought you joy. Be well
How lucky we all are that John trip took a turn into the world of Jerry🎉
AMEN TO THAT THIS IS SOOO FIREEEEEEE

Well totally agree this version is touching and profound. Let my inspiration flow, indeed.

Right there wicha
Brought me to tears. So beautiful!
Cant believe they didnt stream this event, what a shame.
Think they will relese it. Saw the Paul Mccartney one from a few years back on Quello. You see the camera right in front of us here

John, aanyone who’s a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Grateful Dead is alright in my book. Well done.
Jerry would be so happy and moved that his music is still being played beautifully
So sweet to the ears and eyes. This trio. John, Don and Jeff, has a future !!!
Agreed
Onde está Mayer está o Mundo encantado da Música. Simplesmente maravilhoso. Este homem é musicalidade pura e plena.
Brilliant! Only Mayer is able to pull off Terrapin acoustic. Never heard it done before. Beautiful. Thanks for recording it!

Thank you for taking the care to record and share this. The music never stopped.
This presentation of Terrapin is excellent, thank you John, Jeff, and Don!
Don Was, nicest person ever met! This sounds awesome! John Mayer and Jeff my respects to both for such diversity and mastery!
Whistling along with his playing? now he’s just showing off….lol. What an amazing musician and lover of the dead
This takes real chops and real cohones to do this acoustically and so well.
Badass!
Yes, quite.
Love this acoustic breakdown and trifecta of talent!
I don't know how I've never heard this John Mayer song before, I know all his music! This was even better than that song Althea he wrote.
😂lol
Thx..
Mayer and Jeff Chementi togeather..
Magic
Magic, indeed.
Saw them at the sphere. Their chemistry is so powerful.
ALWAYS 🌹

Absolutely beautiful. John, Jeff, & Don - thank you, sincerely. 🥀
He whistles like I do between lyrics ❤💙
What a gorgeous terrapin!

Jerry’s smiling.
I think you’re right here .
absolute masterpiece
I’m a huge Grateful Dead fan from way back. How could you not love this guy that was perfect
This means the world to me! Thank you
Robert Hunter would’ve loved this more than Jerry probably ❤
Fantastic! Thank you!
Thank You! ❤️🎶
Beautiful. Thanks for posting

Wow
Thanks and great to see someone who knows how to film a video the right way unlike the person next to you filming, haha.
The Whistle 😗
Garcia & Hunter. 🙏 r.i.p.
Not a fan of Dead and Co, but I understand why people go. Nice Acoustic Terrapin. Well Done.
Doing the community proud. Nailed it.

Wow 😵💫😵💫😵💫
So good!! Thank you. Did you by chance get Sierra Ferrell and Lukas Nelson?
Singing like its his song vs a dead song. Beautiful
God damnnnnn
😊
Mayer is Dead to me :-) Thanks for carrying the Torch Johnny NFA
Jerry would be proud
Wtf is up woth the whistling?
Who are the other players?
Don Was on bass and Jeff Chimenti on piano

Agree to a certain point, but then we would not see the magically moment on YT.

Love John. Jove what’s he’s done with the boys but damn he’s gonna get a lot of shit for how he song bobs part in this song…..
“Bob’s part”?!
@ in the dead and co arrangement. That’s the way it’s been sung the past decade. Jerry died 30 years ago

Jesus RIGHT?! They coulda got 50,000 Dead Heads (me being one) streaming that for $100 all going to charity. HUGE opportunity missed 😢

To bad Bobby Weir doesnt allow John to do vocals when playing with Dead and Co
John sings the bulk of this with D&co if I am not mistaken....
I can say that he 100% DOES sing many lead vocals in Dead & Co.
@@dog1dog223 Yep, agree, glad John takes songs like "Here comes Sunshine", wish he took tunes like "EOTW" but happy with the balance all things considered!
Oops I made a mistake on my comment what I meant to say was Weir taking vocals on Terrapin whereas John M IMHO does a way better job
Future Dead

no.
A reminder of how great Jerry Garcia was. Nice try, I guess.

Nice try at raising money for charity?? what a weird Flex
Can’t stand Mayer. I’ve really tried to understand where he comes from with his playing but I just can’t connect.
Literally nobody asked, buddy.

Wherever he goes the people all complain...
@ indeed.
Great guitarist.. lousy singer. Still nice tribute.
You're crazy, John's voice is beautiful, especially on a track like Terrapin. Enjoy being toxic.
Potentially the worst John Mayer Dead cover I have ever seen....
Horrible. He should’ve played Deal or something easier. Billy Strings Wharf Rat was great!
@@TomM-wc3eo I'm not the hugest Billy fan but he always crushes Wharf Rat.
Beautiful performance. Its to bad people in the audience dont STFU how rude, cant stand people who talk during performances
This is the only way to watch this??????
