*Found this through a UA-cam video **enjoyable.fishing** recommend does exactly what its meant to do. Very durable and no hang-ups at all surprisingly*
"stick with the basic shapes"
Me: buys Marling baits mold
Thanks for breaking that all down for those of us just considering this hobby. That was a great overall picture of how to get started without making stupid choices.
Great video! I just got into the lure making game. Do it molds has there essential series molds and they cost $42 a mold. It's a way to get into a few more molds for a little less and they work well. Getting good clamps is also key to keep your molds closed tightly.
Finally a video for my brokass 😂
lol well regardless of financial status, nobody needs to drop thousands on a hobby they might not even like lol
Amen 🙏🏻 brother !
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@WorldsWorstFishing hey man. Do u know any one that makes injection molds out of my own custom masters?
Chris gone Fishing epic bait molds maybe, marlin baits does it
Butterknives and pyrex at goodwill for $1.50 or less each. Especially on their 1/2 priced day.
Thats what i did
$25 microwave at a pawn shop
6:18 “ something easy to shoot and gives you instant satisfaction “ hmm.... this is trickier than I thought 😂😂
once you do it you are hooked. I watch his videos and I got hooked.
YO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO MAKE THIS HOPING IT WOULD HAPPEN THANKS!!! IVE BEEN THINKING BOUT USING WHAT YOU’VE TAUGHT/SHOWED US TO START A BUSINESS
glad it helped man, just always remember safety and ventilation
Just poured our first open pour today. Started practicing with melting old plastics down. Love your videos... they are our go to for learning.
I bought a 20 dollar injector and had it for months and it works perfect
Thanks wish I would have watched this before I made my first investment in to to bait making.
I started with around 60 dollars I bought 1 small pot a Pyrex cup and a silicone mold maker i just superglued already existing soft plastic baits to a old tupper ware container and poured the silicone over them then once it cooled melted down old soft plastics over a small fire and then poured the baits just to see if I enjoyed it
Man Chris your videos are so jam packed with info! You have absolutely been a huge inspiration for me to feel like I can and am going to try it myself. Thanks.
🙏🙏
Thank you for your videos , I really enjoy watching them because you are very technical and informative and you really enjoy what you do... Please keep sending vidoes
Thanks Russell, will.do
I'm in. Ordered a mold, plastisol, injector, colors, and some glitter.
Could you either post links to the all the products you use or link the old video where you did previously? UA-cam makes it hard to do keyword searches if you don't have the tags on the videos. Thanks again for a great video.
Great advise, I just got started and wish I had some of this advise before I got started. If you are getting started listen to Chris he knows his stuff. Don't go cheap! CNC aluminum won't really break so they will last you!
P
Another great thing to mention would be the do it molds starter series starter kits, 80 and 200 dollars for plastisol, colorant, flake, bags, injector, and gloves!!!
Watched this again today. Thanks for the honest info.
Gonna place some orders from business's in my hometown area very soon!!!!
Thanks, I made the investment using AI molds. I got a 2.5 grub and 4.5 bloodline. The only injector I could get was a 6oz from do-it. Since I am in Australia it cost me almost $200 in shipping by the time I got everything. Excellent advice!
Another great video. I might add though that Lurecraft has a " build your own pouring kit" in which you can choose 13 colors and or glitters and get a 20% discount. I ran with that when I started and again the next couple of visits to the store. A relatively inexpensive way to build up materials to shoot or pour plastics. By the way, I've only been making plastics a few months and I got into it well under 500 bucks. Since then, welll...... a second injector, 5 more cnc molds, blending block...... for me getting started was the cheap part! Lol! Keep up the great videos and may your line always be tight.
Your story is like mine, but never took it that far you have a talent and a great eye for making baits, I know you have a child and it’s hard but family comes first man!. Iam disabled and it’s just me and my wife now so I have the time to make baits but I do not know how to do media so that is my down side . I love fishing I have cought some good fish on my own baits but they were your standard colors but I put my own twist on them! I would like to thank you for your out standing videos you are truly a bad ass!!!
Thanks for the information. Great advice on getting started on a budget.
glad you found it valuable...I see lots of new people buy cheaper stuff and have problems..no bueno
I'm in canada the shipping is wild! But dead on plastics and colour showed up and I'm very excited to get started
Thanks for this video, I have been wanting to make my own frogs and swimbaits for awhile now
give it a try...just remember safety
Thank you for this video it was very helpful, great content, I miss where you order the soft plastic gallon. Thank you for all the sharing
Great video Chris u have helped me alot in starting my own bait making adventure. Keep up the great work.
will do man
Way to do a follow up to a question. Total respect earned.
thank you man...i get asked a lot about what you should buy as a first investment...hope the video helps someone.
The 500 dollar mark is funny. That was what I set aside to start myself. I also combed forums and got quite a few used molds. Thanks for a great series
yeah it seems to be the starting point for most people
I'm a senior citizen. I buy soft baits from Bass Pro Shops. I will probably die before I use up $500 worth of soft baits. If you lose a bunch of $10 to $15 crankbaits, then it may make sense to make your own crankbaits. But with soft swimbaits, craws and worms being so cheap, your return on investment will be rather poor.
Thanks Chris, great video,a lot of good advice. I think you are doing an awesome job. You didn’t have to do this but I really appreciate it!!! Keep casting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for watching man
Great Advice Sir.
Thanks and God Bless You. 👍
🌹🌹🙏🙏
Re watching these "beginner videos" because I bought some molds and plastic while I've been driving on the road and I'm itching to make my own stuff
Have you found a good liquid plastic?
I’m just starting with making my own soft plastics tossing up between a single injector and double injector what do you think
Now *THIS* is the video ive been waiting for brother!
Sounds good sir, I hope it is worth your 26 minutes haha...I think there are some good points in this one.
@@WorldsWorstFishing I liked it. Thanks for the pointers
thank you man!
With a lot more than the 26 minutes!
@@WorldsWorstFishing could u answer a question of mine?
Thanks for the video. Great advice, I got some cheap stone molds and cheaper injector when I started and it ended up being a waste of money. In the process now of getting my LLC, website and other social media things in order so I can get a little small business going. Maybe it can help pay for my bait making/fishing addiction! Thanks again!
Thank you for this video! Just the content I have been looking for. A little more entry level from your bait making business video. Although that content is invaluable also. You're experienced advice has helped tremendously. Especially knowing to start with "simple" injection molds and still being able to get into hand pouring as an additional option within the $500 budget margin. Thanks again. Love the channel!
thanks michael...just keep safety in mind always and have fun with it!
You should do a video on glitter size and when to use what size for what applications.
Thanks for the insight Chris
youre welcome man
i think that just remelting old plastics is the cheapest but also with plastisol and colorants and glitter you can do more. I am just starting and remelting has done me well
Great advice! Goodwill or garage sales for the cheap microwave!
haha oh yeah..i used to run a garage sale microwave!
I want to start making my own swim baits but dont quite have the funds for an alliminium mold. What was the company you said did good silicon molds
Thanks so much for your content! I've been in a bit of a rutt lately not knowing what to do with my time when I'm not working or fishing and youve definitely peaked my interested with the injection game and I may start looking into buying myself a set up! Until then expect am order from me sir! And thank you again for peaking my interest in this craft!
awesome to hear...thanks for watching the channel
Youre very welcome Chris! Keep up the awesome content and baits! Icame over when you and marling baits did the collab and I've been hooked since!
Great video I have learned a lot from you keep up the awesome work
thank you sir
Awesome video that breaks it down I know you got me thinking 💭 on getting another hobby jumpin off. Thanks again for all the informative videos cheers 🍻 bud.
👍👍
Thanks for the info ! You just got a new subscriber! I’ll keep on checking your other videos!
Appreciate it
Thanks for answering my question from yesterday in a video
yeah man...i get that question almost everyday...so it deserves a video
New subscriber here. Love your videos. I'm considering getting into bait making and just doing my research. Your videos have been a great help. We have a lot less options in Australia. Shipping from USA might even make it cost prohibitive
yeah shipping is awful even here unfortunately
Great video mate!
This video is very insightful. I currently have a cart full online I am waiting to click purchase on. Thanks for the real content Chris Prost 🍻
my pleasure man...prost
Thank you so much. This was an invaluable video!
Answeres a lot of questions. Thank you for this video.
thank you for watching it!
thanks for this video as im really looking into doing this. question, id like to make a purchase of the trick worm mold and was wondering if the "Mid MAG 6.25" Worm Flat Bottom Mold 2 Piece" is the mold you are referring to in this video or the worm that you made? not sure if im just being thrown off by the mid mag portion but this is all i found that closely resembles the trick worm.
My question is, probably harder to answer than I’m assuming, but let’s say per cup of plastisol, how many molds can you make? And for this let’s just say the 5” stick worm. Would it be like 3-4 molds? Or more like 1-2? I’ve looked online at molds but it didn’t say how many oz the mold is, or maybe I just missed it, thanks for the answer in advanced, if you answer lol
He mentioned in another comment that he gets around 15 worms per cup.
Well done CJ! thanks me hearty, concise and helpful. Subbed
thank you sir
Are injection molds off Amazon any good
Would it be possible to do a top 5 or 10 molds everyone needs? I'd rather jump in with 1k and get several options. Maybe a top 15 colors for pigment and flakes to give the best combos?
What plastic would be required for z craw and d bomb. Found some that are floating plastic and the sinking
hey mate love your vids where do you buy your pour molds from i live in the australia
Hey, Chris, you should add this to your basics playlist.
Thanks for the advice! Love your videos!
thank you for watching!
Great information, thanks
I love the videos you are awesome, what do you suggest for packaging and labeling?
Great video I appreciate the information
Great video man! I’m a trout fisherman and I’m looking into making my own mini jig (mini tubes) I don’t know what Plastisol to get. I know to get a wood block and get some rods and dip into my blend and then let them dry and then cut then throw in water. Where can I get the rods at? And which type of plastisol? Also can I buy any glitter or flakes at walmart?
Sounds like a fun hobby.
what is the type of platisol that you use /is it the black label from dead on plastic @world worst fishing
Thank you Chris for the videos
Very informational and great vid. I’ve always thought about making my own lures, I think it would be super cool. But I subbed because I look forward to more awesome content. Keep it up man! 👍🏻
chris i am having a small problem my pours are a little soft an just a tick tackei
Amazing Video Gonna Get Started Soon!!! One Question:why Worlds "WORST" Fishing
I found someone who was willing to sell 5 molds 4 being aluminum and 2 injectors one being a double shot mix injector for $300.
Thank you
I started with stone injection molds to see if this was something I would enjoy doing. They are cheap so I was able to get a small variety of baits to try out. They last a while if taken care of just don't drop them.
yeah thats also an option...do you still pour?
@@WorldsWorstFishing yes I do but mostly just for my own personal use. I am in the process of buying some aluminum molds.
Great insight. Thank you
thanks for watching
Fantastic vid, if one would want a custom injection mold made where would I need to look/contact as in Australia if I wanted to match the hatch as it were some of the critters/bugs are different from over the waters in the USA. (also happy 4th July).
How did you get a costume mold?
I want to ask this question I'm about out of medium blend plastic from lurecraft so I put softener and salt in my baits I'm going to move to dead on plastics and I only make senkos right now but should I stick with a medium blend and continue to put salt and softener or should I just get the worm blend? Thank you I wish I would have had this video when I started wish I could do over and get better stuff than what I did and played it smarter.
try the worm blend or finesse blend...then see which one you prefer..salt doesnt make them softer...it only makes the weaker and sink more.
@@WorldsWorstFishing I know salt doesn't make it softer but thank you I will try it means alot have a good day
Could you do an update with current products on the market? 2021 edition.
Do you have to do anything different without a vacuum chamber
Anywhere in Tallahassee I’ll just give you a holler when I’m in there
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS VID. VERY VERY HELPFUL. Do they make molds for tube jigs ? THANKS AGAIN, Henry
They make molds for everything
pretty much
Awesome video 🤘🏽
thank you man
Out of curiosity, approximately how many of those stick worms can you make with a gallon of plastisol? As usual, great video! My wife doesn't seem as scared for me to jump into this now...lol.
hmmmmmm.....I get about 15 per cup....16 cups to a gallon
I get between 35 to 45 baits per 1 3/4 cups of plastic
Hi Chris,
Do all molds have the same sized injector hole?
Eg :will just one injector be good if i buy 2/3 different molds please
why would someone dislike this.. what were they hoping to see?
Can't please everyone I guess
Some folks will gripe if you hang ‘em with a brand new rope. Haters gonna hate. Chris’ videos are interesting and informative.
@@kennethpierce7304 thank you sir
Sir ! Asking only .what kind material use for soft lure.i want make my own bait here in philippines.thank u.
This probably a stupid question as I've said before I'm new I have a injection mold and I don't have the money for a injector right now so I tried hand pouring they come out okay I guess it's a 6" swimbait mold I g
Sorry I messed up can I keep getting away by hand pouring I have order a silcone swimbait mold and I'm using the pm12 med lure plastisol should I be using the salt water blend thank you love your instructional videos
Great video thank you sir and cheers🍻🍻
Cheers!
I’m waiting on a catalog from Lurecraft. ( been waiting on it for two weeks ) Making a list now. Hopefully it won’t take as long to get product as it has the catalog.
they have a sale right now, grab it while ya can
Question.. Do you know of any place that sells the creme midjit scoundrel worm mold?? And do you know how they might get that 2 tone linear color effect. In the natural color???
So if I'm going to buy something at all, it will have to be the essential series sand casted molds. Are they quality?
They will get the job done
Can i get the mould? Y can delivery to Malaysia?...How much ?
Do I need to buy worm oil?
I was wondering where did you get that core shot injection mold from?
I had a question, do your fans both blow away from your microwave or does one blow towards the microwave? I have a problem with my fans blowing my glitter out of my spoon.
Hey Chris, great video and definitely want to get started in this hobby! Does dead on require softeners or worm oil or would you recommend anything like that with their worm blend?
No worm oil is needed...only use softener if you want to..
World's Worst Fishing thanks man!
WHERE DO YOU BUY YOURS & OR WHERE CAN I BUY THE CHEAPEST PLASTISOL ?
Do u have any experience with do-it essential series molds ? They are cheaper for some reason.
they are a different type of mold, not milled the same way from aluminum as the higher quality molds..that is my understanding based on others testimony. They will produce a duller bait from what ive seen.
They are casts instead of machined.
