With a few other exceptions: Don Knotts as Barney , James Gandolfini as Tony and others I can't think of . Johnathon Frid as Barnabas is one of the greatest casting decisions in Television history . He probably never got compensated even close to what his true worth was as that character.
Barnabas will you get out of your comfort zone once in a while and actually move, go after her and grab her. You stand there like Shakespeare on the stage.
Joan Bennett is at her loveliest as Naomi at the window. There must be crates galore of those blue candles in the Collins' warehouses, no doubt brought back by ship from the Orient. I wonder if anyone else in the Province of Maine had blue candles. Ah, poor disoriented Barnabas...his first nights as a vampire must have been truly wretched. The mausoleum scene is heartbreaking. Sarah was such a sweet character that it was hard to say farewell to her. Thank you for a momentous look back.
With so many woods did little red riding hood as well as the very misunderstood and kind teddy bear barnabus both prefer ME? Who else? Big foot? UFO ? Still a classic sitcom.
Mrs. Naomi Collins really shows her motherly love and concern for her own daughter, Sara. She also reminds me of my own mother who has shown her concern for me, as whenever I was in danger, especially whenever I was working in a dangerous night shift.
I now know how Barnabas felt when Sarah died. My cousin died of ATRT at 6:18 am on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, aged 1 year, 10 months, and 28 days. I can't go to the funeral since I'm over 200 miles away on an island I can't leave due to my work and being broke. That, and my generation of the family is seen as a bunch of plague rats because: "EVeRyONe 18 aNd uNdER CAn kiLl uS bY GiVIng Us COviD!" That's pretty much how all of the boomers in the family see us Gen-Zs, and it pisses me off. Guess it doesn't matter since I'm stuck on an island anyway.
@ThymeBottle I agree. Joan Bennet was very pretty and a great actress. I love all of their blue candles, i wanna steal some lol!!!! They never seem to run out, so they must've had crates of them lol!!!! The scene between Barnabas and Sarah was probably one of the most touching scenes of all time, everytime i see it i tear up. You're welcome and thanks for commenting. :)
@Astraldragon1 , true she did run because he had blood on his face. she didn't question if he was in a fight or fell down and hurt himself.. those type questions you would ask in todays world.
Thayer David is possibly one of the best character actors EVER. I had no idea that he was just 51 when he passed. I just saw him as the villain in the 1959 Journey to the Center of the Earth. Must have been a blast to act with him.
Thayer David was one of the better actors on Dark Shadows from 1966 as Matthew Morgan almost up to the end of the series in 1971. Not sure how many different roles and characters he played. Professor Stokes in the present 1968 storyline, Ben Stokes in 1795, Count Petofi in 1897...to name a few.
This tragical classic saga reminds me on William Shakespeare's tragical tale of his written play of Hamlet and even like Romeo and Juliet as they've both fell in÷love but they've both commited suicide.
Someone please upload full Dark Shadows episodes. What is going to happen to Sarah? I know she dies, but I want to know how this episode ends!!!!!!!!!!!
@ThymeBottle Willie is the best!!!! He does a wonderful job with the Old House lol!!!!! He was smart enough to find Barnabas in the coffin in the first place, he must be a real genius lol!!!! :) and i imagine how much laundry Barnabas has with all of the blood stains and i never thought of candle drippings, but now that you mention it poor Willie has to figure out how to get those stains out lol!!! He is very good at replacing those candles tho :)
Poor Willie was out to steal jewels before unleashing Barnabas (aka vampire Jonathan Frid). Don't think Willie had much choice under a vampire's powers in all that he did. In a way, Barnabas turned poor Willie around even though it was forced upon him. BTW Willie (John Karlen) is the best at acting out his role...big fan of his. Jonathan Frid as well.
@NikkiCollins100 While you're at it, steal Willie, too. You're going to need a lot of help keeping them lit, and he is very good about replacing them when they burn down. I've got my hands full getting the candle wax drips off of Barnabas' suits.
@NikkiCollins100 Isn't that the truth! I can't imagine Willie with an old fashioned scrub board and a washtub. Perhaps he sneaked over to Collinwood and did a load or two when Mrs. Johnson went to town for groceries. Or, did he take his and Barn's clothes to the laundromat? In the Revival series, Willie comes back from the cleaners with Barn's suits; he also said he ironed Barn's cape, lol. Often, when Barn stood by the OH drawing room mantle, he'd end up with candle drips on his back!!!
8:37 - Rain is running down the window on the right but not down the window on the left.
Heartbreaking storyline. The Collins suffered deeply.
Joan Bennett is
One
Classy Dame

Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins
Joan Bennett looked great for her 50s or 60s. The 1795 portion of the series was my fave
Barnabas will you get out of your comfort zone once in a while and actually move, go after her and grab her. You stand there like Shakespeare on the stage.
Trust me I LOVE Barnabas so much, I wanted to see him put his love into action like men do..

I grew up on the show and I still enjoy it.Wish I could watch full episodes for free!
The cast must have loved this part of the series. Dressing up in 18th century clothes and doing this!
Thank you for posting this. Her name is Sarah. The love between Barnabas and Sarah is very sweet.
Sarah was so sweet. This episode was great. There were SO many great episodes in this series
Barnabas never realized he had blood on his face when he turned to face Sara. that's what scared her and made her run away.
Mrs. Naomi Collins really shows her motherly love and concern for her own daughter, Sara. She also reminds me of my own mother who has shown her concern for me, as whenever I was in danger, especially whenever I was working in a dangerous night shift.

I love him the same way Sarah did

Not all us boomers go for the vax. Stand fast.

NikkiCollins100 I too love the blue candles!!! First comment I've seen on those candles, lol, awesome show...awesome colored candles!
Joan Bennet was class..........

Exactly. All the different roles he played and with that amazing voice.
He was in Rocky #1 (1976) as the fight promoter between Rocky and Apollo.
Notice how those pale blue candles seem to end up burning in every era/decade of the Collins' family?
This tragical classic saga reminds me on William Shakespeare's tragical tale of his written play of Hamlet and even like Romeo and Juliet as they've both fell in÷love but they've both commited suicide.
Of course, they run in the family generation after generations LOL!! Thanks for commenting ^_^
Love it

Sara was a good character Barnabas sister she was so cute
I liked Millicent
. I wish we knew what had become of her .
She got ill mentally and din't remember she had married Nathan Forbes,, whom Barnabas killed. Joshua said he would always take care of her.
@@marilynwillett804 According to Dark Shadows Fandom, she never remarried, and died a bitter and mentally unstable old woman.
Sara was the first to die and Naomi the last....whoever loves barnabas WILL DIE....and Joshua chained him in ...from the tower to the secret room🖖✌️😒
uhh... you got a little something right there *circles chek and sholder with finger*
Pooor Sarah Collins!
