    I enjoyed this so very much. As a long time art instructor myself, I was so impressed with your teaching technique. Your voice is very soothing, your instructions are clear and precise, and you present the instructions in such a relaxed manner, ie you speak slowly enough that even beginners would be able to keep up, but not so slowly as to be boring. I’m really looking forward to watching many more of your videos. Thank you for your willingness to share.

    Hi Sarah, thank you for this awesome video! I have been thinking of trying to make flowers with home made air dry clay but not using Das for it as I think it would fall apart. Lol. I wish I could get the Smarta air dry clay over here in the UK, as it's way too expensive to have it shipped here from the US, which is a shame.Thank you so much for this video. It has encouraged me to attempt making flowers. You are so inspirational and I love your videos.

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  2 роки тому

      Thank you, I am happy to hear you are inspired, there will be lots more videos soon with regular air dry clay. I am hoping that Smarta will start to sell on Amazon or similar, they are a fairly new company but I really do love their clay. Currently shipping to the UK is a bit steep, so lets hope that can change soon, many thanks for your valued feedback ♥️

    I would love to see you make a poppy. I know they’re simple, but they are so beautiful. Also, i have a niece who loves tulips. I would like to make a painting for her of tulips on canvas. What i have in mind is maybe a nine by twelve canvas. I want three tulips, placed at an angle from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. I want the tulips to be hmmm, i think one yellow, with the other two red, with touches of yellow in the center of the petals and at the top edges of the tulips. I see the stems as quite long, with maybe a single leaf. What i haven’t figured out yet is (1) should i make the tulips, then glue them on? Or do i attempt forming them directly onto the prepared canvas?
    I would love to see you do a demo on this. Thank you so much for considering my idea.

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  2 роки тому

      Sounds like you have a plan, I personally would make them flat and then glue them on once dry so they are secure.

    I liked the look of the Smarta clay so I followed the link. Almost £23 to send to the UK from Turkey! Needless to say I didn't purchase any. However if you come across a UK based seller with reasonable shopping costs I would be happy to buy via your recommendation.

    Love your video! What is the width of your petals? I've read somewhere that the thinner your project the more likely it is that air-dry clay will crack so you have to make it at least a 1/4 of an inch thick.

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  2 роки тому +1

      yes I normally say not to go thinner than a quarter inch too, but this was a challenge and the first ones are a new version/brand of air drying clay, the second one i made is regular air dry clay and although i made them, they were very very fragile this thin yes.

    Beautiful flowers, Sarah. Is this similar to the Crayola Model Magic here in America? I cannot find Smarta clay anywhere. I can order from the UK if need be. Thanks.

      Hi Diana, I am hoping this clay will become much more widely available, they are a new company. I have not used Crayola model magic, does it have a more plastic feel to it when dry?

    • @DianasYTChannel
      @DianasYTChannel 2 роки тому +1

      @@RedRockingBird Hi, Sarah, and thanks for replying. ☺️ The Crayola Model Magic feels sponges not like plastic, so I guess it’s not the same type. I’ll keep an eye out for Smarta. I do so love your tutorials. You have helped me get started working with clay and so far most things are successes. I thank you and always look forward to your videos. 😁

      @@DianasYTChannel this sounds like the light air dry clay, try it and see how well it makes a petal, it could work well too. The one have like this is also flexible once dry so let’s hope that’s another option, the other bonus is that it’s really light weight ❤️
