    In this lesson you're going to learn how to pronounce all 50 states of the United States. Almost all of the states in the US have multiple syllables which can be a little tricky so this is fantastic practise.

    I often heard a city name in a movie. For example, Memphis and New Orleans, The Client (1994). But rarely heard the 50 states name, not mentioned their pronunciation. Fortunately, your this lesson completed it. Thank you.

      I was surprised as well when I took a close look at the state names. Schwa everywhere! Pronunciation nerd that I am, I got excited about the practice opportunity! 😄 So glad you enjoyed the lesson!

      I've been trying to master the schwa sound ever since I realized it's one of the most important sounds in English. It really plays a crucial role in English pronunciation. Because we don't have this vowel in Turkish, I had difficult times to get my mouth used to it, but the practice is really paying off now.

    It's funny when you're saying for example in 10:25 mich-ə, and it virtually sounds like polish word mysza which means mouse :D

    Hi, I have a question of you. One of the states is Rhode Island, do some Americans pronounce it without the linking between the two words in the Rhode Island? In other words, some Americans speak this state without linking the letter 'd' of Rhode and the letter 'I' of Island.
