@@kab9729 For me, I went with the Pro Max this year since I’ve had the Pro’s the last few years. I sacrificed the comfortability of the Pro for a bigger screen and battery and for me it was worth it: No more battery anxiety.
I've had the pro max from 12-15 and this year I got the 16pm, but I returned it go get the 16 pro. Although the battery life was good, it was too big! It doesn't feel easy to use in one hand, and it would hang out of my short pockets. My 16 pm is on the way and I'm ready for a smaller phone.
I bought the 16 Pro Max in Titanium Black. I have no idea why the other colours are popular but like the size of phone, it's personal. I will always opt for the better cameras. Let's face it, the big change may very well be with the iPhone 17, so those of us who upgrade will enjoy the 16 for a year or so and then move on. Kind of silly, since it is a depreciating asset but we geeks will be geeks!
I’m using a 12 mini to watch this video. Apple should have made a 16 Pro Mini.. would’ve been a miniature beast. But I do love my 13 pro max.. and prefer a large display. It’s hard to decide
I came from the Samsung s21 ultra, I switch back and forth from apple to android every couple years, I like all technology and am not a member of a cult. I choose the 16 pro, I love the form factor, reminds me of my old iPhone 7, if I’m being honest I do miss a bigger screen! I’m torn though because I always complained about one handed operation and trying to fit it in pockets lol, I guess I just need to get used to it and accept the change. Even on the pro, I’ve been on this thing since 6pm and it’s now 1:48am and still have 53% it’s absolutely bananas. If I remember right the biggest offenders to battery life is screen brightness, location, being off WiFi. I’ve been home with a 25% screen brightness, I’m on WiFi and only allowed a few apps my location. I also didn’t setup Siri. Might explain my battery life. I’m impressed so far, I’ll still never love the apple window up top, but I do love how fast Face ID is, so it’s a trade off.
I had preordered the iPhone 16 Pro in Natural Titanium, 1TB and filmed my unboxing on my channel! I'm in love with it! I've always got the max for years and years but the 16 pro feels so much better in my hands and it's comfortable to use as i use my phone for my day job and to manage my businesses. Highly recommend the 16 pro!!!!
Easily small. Same screen res. Same cameras. Battery life is better than my old 13pm and I don’t have to “shimmy” or carry around a remote sized phone.
I’m tempted to return my iPhone 16 Pro Max. The display is nice when laying in bed but it’s so big and heavy that my shorts sag with it in the pocket. Like you said, it’s also impossible to type one handed or reach much of the display with one hand. I’ll handle the regular Pro next week in-store to see if I prefer it.
@@ambiiefbabii12 Hey there. I’ll go to the store this weekend to handle the smaller Pro. I suspect I’ll just keep the Max but we’ll see. I’ve already decided to return Apple’s clear case and have replaced it with the black Torras 360 Spin case. Once you get a nicely made case that has a stand, it’s hard to go back.
@@Kyunayzen I kept the 16 Pro Max as I just didn’t want the hassle of swapping it out (and they weren’t in stock in-store). The wife has the 16 Pro which feels so much nicer in hand and typing with one hand is actually possible with it. I’d be happy with either one, honestly. One perk is the battery on the Max is very impressive and the display is so large that I don’t feel the need to use an iPad/laptop, so there’s that.
I’m still using my 2022 iPad Pro which works like charm. I have always use the Pro version for calls and when I’m on the go while using the iPad while relaxing or sitting in bus or train to my intended destinations. To me batteries are non issue because I always carry power-bank with me anyway.
I bought a pro when I had a job that required me to carry it around in my pocket.. but I hated the small size. Now I can set my phone down at work and the max is awesome. Loving the gold color.
It feels like you're saying exactly what I was thinking, comparing these 2 phones together! I love the form factor on the iPhone 16 pro but I enjoy the bigger screen and above all the battery life of the pro max. I chose it at the end like you did!
Switched from the S24 Ultra to the 16 Pro and I have zero regrets! Big square phones are just too much for me, I’ll take something smaller and more accessible, even if I have to charge more often.
You are without a doubt my favorite Tek channel. I love your balance of knowledge and humor, and that you’re an absolute goofball just like me. Keep it up man
Here in Canada the 16pro is 1,449$and the 16pro max for 256gb is 1,749$ .wich one to buy as a average consumer ? or the 16plus is 1,279$ for 128gb ? i will wait until black friday to buy it
Since trading in my 3 years old 13PM, I picked 16P but haven't unboxed yet😂 One of my family members just promised me to swap 16P for 13PM if I don't like 6.3" size 😊 Update: folks, I am currently sitting on iPhone 16 Pro ( not Max) for last 5 days, my quick observations: battery drain is fast compared to 13 PM, camera control is gimmicky and it drains the battery fast when you use it for camera controls. I put my second eSIM ( work) that adds more drain ( as expected), Phone heats up under some conditions but doesn't become too hot or something. If you want to pull a day without recharging 1) turn off camera control button under accessibility menu 2) turn off always on display 3) change the refresh rate to 60 fps 4) change to LTE from 5G if you have 2 SIMs I get about 7-8 hours screen on time using it all day without recharge. I can still say 13 Pro Max was battery champion ( not sure about 14 or 15 PM as I didn't use them) Likes: 1. Form factor ( perfect !!! ) if you want perfectly sized smartphone, both men and women would pick this one up 2. All (camera ) features of 16 PM( except screen real estate and battery ) Dislikes: 1. Cameras control button which comes at cost of battery drain and 99% of users would simply swipe left on lock screen to access camera app and lets see how world does with it once Apple intelligence is out !! 2. Smaller battery ( can't you add 500mA more battery, apple!!!) 3. Apple didn't use Snapdragon x75 5G ( RF) modem this year ( would have saved battery drain which is a big claim from Qualcomm) 4. Speaker is mediocre, it's louder but audio quality is just normal, not a pro level. 5. Thermal control and this year's Pro color options could have been better! If I want to keep 16 Pro , will better buy a power bank with fast charging (wired option) to take advantage of 45w charging speeds ( not even sure power bank could handle such high wattage charging). With 2 SIMs and hotspot usage 16 Pro Max is justified with its bigger battery and thermal control efficiencies. Hope this helps your buying experience!
@@ambiiefbabii12 yes, I may switch to Pro max only if I need more battery juice based on my use case, as I mentioned I use hotspot on business trips very often and would like to make sure phone lasts longer in a place where I don't have charging stations/options. Otherwise I will stick to 16 Pro, as I really love the form factor. The problem with Pro max is when you put a decent case on, it's almost a tablet 😄
I have just cancelled my preordered 16 Pro after 10days. I am so confused which one to pick 16P or 16PM. I have been using 12 PM for all these years and bored and fed up with its size. I like compact phones with wider screens with moderate height. But 16P is taller and less wider and 16PM is wider but too tall to handle. Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks.
I agree about the battery life on the 16pm it's really great, mine was charged to 100% yesterday morning at 6:40AM and then I used it during the day for music, took some photos, watched some streaming on twitch, instagram for about 2 hours, and now we are at the next day, the time is 5PM and the battery is still at 42%. Amazing.
After having the 15 Pro for a year I’m getting the 16 Pro Max. Most days I’m recharging mid day via usbc or battery pack. I can count the days on one hand that it made it through a day
I had the 16PM for about 20 days before I returned it. The size, I got used to quickly. That wasn't even the real issue. The issue is that there is a known bug going around the 16PM series with lag. No one knows why-- I have tried the beta versions of iOS, factory reset, then went to non-beta versions. Numerous factory resets, various versions of iOS 18, nothing fixes the Pro Max lag issue. I just picked up the 16 Pro. I actually hate the smaller screen and smaller battery, but there is NO LAG. Same software, same settings, literally set it up directly from my laggy, buggy 16PM. Perfect performance. No idea why this is happening, but it makes a $1400 Pro Max a paperweight. I was able to get a 1TB desert titanium for the same price as my 512GB Pro Max, also, so win-win...
Yeah that's a pretty good time to upgrade. However, do you feel any paint points with your current phone like performance, battery life? Or is there a feature you really want that has been added to recent iPhones? If the answer to any of that is "no" stick with your current 13.
@@GregsGadgetshey Greg. I had the same question I am currently using 12 pro. What would you suggest should I go for the latest one. I do hate my phones battery life. I am coming from a iphone XS Max with its 6.5 inch... i think with the 6.3inch 16pro ill not be loosing to much screen real estate yet getting a much more convenient size.. 6.9 inch screen looks gorgeous though not gonna lie, but regularly using big phone, also while running, and bigger size in pockets is cumbersome at times!

If I would buy a 360 silicon case? Would the new camera button work? Is it sensitive enough? I'm thinking the silicone might be too thick (no pun intended 😂)
I’ve had pro max every year, but this year it’s just too big, I can barely reach the corner if I’m using one handed. I think this year might be the first time I switch to the smaller option. Or should I stay with the max phone ??
I won't be getting an iPhone 16 as recently got a 15 pro max which is great. iPhone16 seems like a slight upgrade and still haven't seen how Ai is going to work in practice or if I even need it?
Is there a performance difference between the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max even though both are running the same chip? Reason for asking is because there are reports that MBP M3 Max chips run better on the 16" than the 14" due to a bigger chassis for thermals.
Age old problem. After my iPad died I decided to just get a bigger iPhone. Nice for reading, browsing and media, worse for pocketability. Better for battery life and easier to type, but harder to handle (one handed).
I have been only using 6’1inch models and i can tell you it’s too tiny. Pro max have bigger display to watch smth📺 and 3-4 hours longer battery life. Nowadays 6’1 inch phones feel like tiny because every phone got bigger. Only Difference is 100$ because most would not get 128gb since every apps takes so many storage. If you find yourself with 1100$ you can find extra more 100$ and get better battery life and bigger display.
My battery on the 15 pro is hideous, since day one. Love the phone, do not love the battery. The battery on the 16 pro is similar to last year's 15 pro?
Honestly, on daily usage my pro's battery is at around 40-50% at the end of the day.. the only time where the pro's battery doesn't last a full day for me is when I'm traveling, but in that case the pro max wouldn't help either - I would need to charge it mid-day anyway. And since battery packs can be very small and fast these days - it's really not that big of a deal for me...

First time to get the regular Pro 16 from the max. Never been happier
I have the pro right now with 256GB so only like. $100 short of the pro max. I’m thinking of changing because of the battery life but I heard the pro max is too big for your pockets. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’d rather have a slightly larger Pro Max than worrying about bringing a charger with me everywhere for the regular Pro. I had both for reference, but I take a lot of photos and video.
@ me too but pro feels way more comfortable yk and by photos I mean like just random pics of the sky maybe lol but yeah the battery life is really tempting and I upgraded the storage so it’s only $100 more so idk.
Came from a 15 promax last year, I brought the 16 Pro 512g this year love the size !!!
Just purchased a iPhone 16 pro black . I don’t need to walk around with giant phone. I got my IPad for that .
I bought the 16 pro max. It’s a BEAST! I love it
How is the battery 🔋 life
I got the regular pro This year mainly due to stock, and also the size. It just feels perfect using iOS on a smaller display. So far enjoying it.
I'm recently going back to 6.1 screen phone and love it.
Glad you mentioned cellular reception affecting battery life. It can be a major factor.
Easily small. Same screen res. Same cameras. Battery life is better than my old 13pm and I don’t have to “shimmy” or carry around a remote sized phone.
Great clear review 🎉
Thank you!
Update?
@@ambiiefbabii12 Hey there. I’ll go to the store this weekend to handle the smaller Pro. I suspect I’ll just keep the Max but we’ll see. I’ve already decided to return Apple’s clear case and have replaced it with the black Torras 360 Spin case. Once you get a nicely made case that has a stand, it’s hard to go back.
@@georgewashington3012ahhh ok
@@georgewashington3012update ? I'm in the inverse situation lol
Greg throwing the phones down in the intro sent me 🥲😭
I’m still using my 2022 iPad Pro which works like charm.
I purchased the iphone 16 Pro Max this past Thursday. Desert Titanium. Upgrading from the iphone 15 Pro Max
It feels like you're saying exactly what I was thinking, comparing these 2 phones together! I love the form factor on the iPhone 16 pro but I enjoy the bigger screen and above all the battery life of the pro max. I chose it at the end like you did!
I recommend the smaller iPhone with a iPad Mini combo.
This is torture! im confused i loove the big pro max but i like the compact pro!
Me too!
Great review!!!😮😊
Switched from the S24 Ultra to the 16 Pro and I have zero regrets! Big square phones are just too much for me, I’ll take something smaller and more accessible, even if I have to charge more often.
Nice intro, thanks for the info
You are without a doubt my favorite Tek channel. I love your balance of knowledge and humor, and that you’re an absolute goofball just like me. Keep it up man
Aww thank you 🙏
Great video dude😊
Can you do 15 pro max vs 16 pro ? I’m concern about size of the 16pm and battery of the 16 pro
I'm upgrading from the Iphone 8 I've been using since 2017. Still not sure if I want to go with the pro or the pro-max yet though.
Here in Canada the 16pro is 1,449$and the 16pro max for 256gb is 1,749$ .wich one to buy as a average consumer ? or the 16plus is 1,279$ for 128gb ? i will wait until black friday to buy it
Since trading in my 3 years old 13PM, I picked 16P but haven't unboxed yet😂 One of my family members just promised me to swap 16P for 13PM if I don't like 6.3" size 😊
Update: folks, I am currently sitting on iPhone 16 Pro ( not Max) for last 5 days, my quick observations: battery drain is fast compared to 13 PM, camera control is gimmicky and it drains the battery fast when you use it for camera controls. I put my second eSIM ( work) that adds more drain ( as expected), Phone heats up under some conditions but doesn't become too hot or something. If you want to pull a day without recharging 1) turn off camera control button under accessibility menu 2) turn off always on display 3) change the refresh rate to 60 fps 4) change to LTE from 5G if you have 2 SIMs
I get about 7-8 hours screen on time using it all day without recharge. I can still say 13 Pro Max was battery champion ( not sure about 14 or 15 PM as I didn't use them)
Likes:
1. Form factor ( perfect !!! ) if you want perfectly sized smartphone, both men and women would pick this one up
2. All (camera ) features of 16 PM( except screen real estate and battery )
Dislikes:
1. Cameras control button which comes at cost of battery drain and 99% of users would simply swipe left on lock screen to access camera app and lets see how world does with it once Apple intelligence is out !!
2. Smaller battery ( can't you add 500mA more battery, apple!!!)
3. Apple didn't use Snapdragon x75 5G ( RF) modem this year ( would have saved battery drain which is a big claim from Qualcomm)
Update
@@ambiiefbabii12 Done
@@newsnetworkz oh wow I see the update thanks. Do you think you will go to the pro max considering all the pro 16 cons?
@@ambiiefbabii12 yes, I may switch to Pro max only if I need more battery juice based on my use case, as I mentioned I use hotspot on business trips very often and would like to make sure phone lasts longer in a place where I don't have charging stations/options. Otherwise I will stick to 16 Pro, as I really love the form factor. The problem with Pro max is when you put a decent case on, it's almost a tablet 😄
@@newsnetworkz that’s true!! Thanks so much for the update
Really enjoy your video, thanks for getting us entertained, bro you have a great sense of humor! Keep it up and have a great day❤
Thank you so much appreciate it!
I bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max for myself and an iPhone 16 Pro for my wife both with 256 gig of memory my wife does not like the bigger size
How's 16 pro battery?
Have you been facing any significant differences?
We are completely opposite, because she puts the pro max in her purse and I have to put my phone in a pocket.
Ew
Exactly the same. I think the 6.3 is probably the optimal size but I want better battery and for that reason I’m getting the pro max
Thanks.
Get pro max, easy.
They only got taller not wider so you don’t feel difference
Had the 15PM since launch date, same thing, very hard to use it one handed, tought to reach the corners, yesterday went for the 16 pro and I love it.
@@this_world.s_test Thanks 💭.
@@matews6 Thanks. But the screen is less wider to PM. Is that ok?
It’s really use case. I hate big phones. I have 13 mini but I’m always around an iPad. If I wasn’t, I’d prob get pro
Awesome review man
Keep it up !!
Haha love the intro Greg!!
Thanks lol
I went with the Pro. Battery could be improved, but overall, it was a great upgrade from my 12 to 16. ❤
Traded in my standard 15 for the 16 pro max. I actually like the size, the battery life is great6and it does feel very premium.
i got the 16 Pro max gold 1TB Model with its Super large battery of 4,685 Mah no wondering it's the best battery ever I enjoyed the video
I can count the days on one hand that it made it through a day
Good luck slapping a case on the 6.9 Pro Max. Our biggest iphone ever.
You’ll get used to the pro size. It’s just new right now. Give it time
At Greg’s gagets do you think I should buy the iPhone 16 pro coming from a iPhone 13
Yeah that's a pretty good time to upgrade. However, do you feel any paint points with your current phone like performance, battery life? Or is there a feature you really want that has been added to recent iPhones? If the answer to any of that is "no" stick with your current 13.
@@GregsGadgets yes my iPhone 13 is shit I hate it it dies so fast and glitches to the point when I can’t even use my phone
Time to upgrade
@@GregsGadgetshey Greg. I had the same question I am currently using 12 pro. What would you suggest should I go for the latest one. I do hate my phones battery life. It very lies and I have to use it on battery saver mode 100% of the time and also I have to restrict myself from using it a lot. What would you suggest. Should I go for 16 or stick it out for 17??
Loved your opening. Big Star Wars fan. You done good!1
Haha thanks
I am coming from a iphone XS Max with its 6.5 inch... i think with the 6.3inch 16pro ill not be loosing to much screen real estate yet getting a much more convenient size.. 6.9 inch screen looks gorgeous though not gonna lie, but regularly using big phone, also while running, and bigger size in pockets is cumbersome at times!
Are you rocking the gold titanium series 10?
Yup!
i have an iphone 13, i prebooked the 16 PM on 15th sep and due to out of stock issues the phone will be delivered in mid October, the craze is real here in india
Finally someone with honesty 😮
If I would buy a 360 silicon case? Would the new camera button work? Is it sensitive enough?
I'm thinking the silicone might be too thick (no pun intended 😂)
I’ve had pro max every year, but this year it’s just too big, I can barely reach the corner if I’m using one handed. I think this year might be the first time I switch to the smaller option. Or should I stay with the max phone ??
I have had the plus sizes in the past and Pro max on the newer styles and decided to get the 16 pro.
I won't be getting an iPhone 16 as recently got a 15 pro max which is great. iPhone16 seems like a slight upgrade and still haven't seen how Ai is going to work in practice or if I even need it?
i went with the 16 Pro. The smaller physical size without having to sacrifice 5x optical zoom is what won me over.
0.6 of an inch isn’t much to sacrifice battery by going with the pro. I’ll take the max with bigger battery as usual.
Bought the 16 Pro Max. Battery life is big!!
I switched from 13 pro to 16 pro max. I agree it’s not that comfortable to handle, but in the end I looove the bigger battery life
I do so many different things with my phone I got the Pro Max again after evaluating the one my son got yesterday. Discounts this year are huge!
Hi Greg my wife got the 16pro and is very happy with it and I have 15pro max and yes the big phone is a little hard to type with one hand.
No, the 16 Pro is more similar to the 15 Pro Max battery now.
@@chrisanderson9981Wow that’s must be great then!
I guess it is worth upgrading in this case.
Thank you for answering!
