I just cannot let go of the Miss Dior EDT Original. So classic and classy. I think you were spot on when you described it as "powdery and champagne." I love to wear this in the summer and to spray lightly on my bed sheets. Classic.

Thank you for your review. I am new to chypre perfumes and the current Miss Dior Orignale edt is my first one. I absolutely love it as it it is fresh, green and uplifting fragrance that really 'wakes me up' when I spray it and doesn't have a trace of the overwhelming floral/gourmand sweetness of todays perfumes. I have been trying to understand why the fragrance doesn't fully satisfy though, me and you said it perfectly - it lacks complexity! Yes I love the opening notes buy the dry down is disapointing - just a slightly sweet skin scent. However it doesn't have the dreadfully intense sweet dry down of modern florals. Thank you for helping me with this problem. I will now be looking for a dry chyre with oakmoss and more complexity - I hope such a gem exists.

I am so glad you found my review helpful 😊. Miss Dior Originale is a wonderful scent on its own, but there are definitely more to explore out there! If you are trying to explore other chypre may I suggest testing Guerlain's Mitsuoko, either EDP or EDT. Or for more modern chypre try Cartier La Panthere EDP and Chloe Nomade EDP. I'm not sure if you'll like them, but I find them quite enjoyable to wear. Thanks so much for watching 🥰

@@LivingIntheRedDot Thank you for the recommendations. Guerlain's Mitsuoko is one I have seen reviewed many times and most people think the current reformulations of the original bear no resemblance to vintage Mitkosuo but I will try and find a sample of the current edition to see for myself. I live in a cold, damp climate here in Ireland so totally opposite to you!

Hello, is the drydown for Miss Dior Originale edt very green? Or is it just sweet nothingness?

Great review! I wish they had testers of this part of the miss dior line available in stores. It’s only ever the pink floral Miss Dior (which imo stinks).

A great review. I had no idea Dior reformulated Miss Dior with their Originale scent. I’ve been using Miss Dior since the mid 1980s, and adored what I now know is the original formula. My adult daughters consider it to be my signature scent. Early in the 2000s I began my search for another bottle, and was aghast when a completely different modern version slid z as cross the counter. When I found out that the Originale was available, I ordered it through my pharmacy. I was none the wiser. Now I know there’s a difference, but that’s all good. I love it and will continue to wear it until I’m a little old lady!! 👵🏻🥰

Thanks for taking time to review these. Dior perfumes are about to be reformulated yet again as they have hired Kirkdjian to replace Demachy.

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the heads up. I had no idea this change was going down. I'm so curious how Kurkdjian will steer Dior fragrances. It's like moving from traditional to more modern avante garde? Thanks so much for watching 🥰

@@LivingIntheRedDot Kurdjian is all over the perfume industry map. I think he designed YSL Libre, which is terrible, but he also did Elie Saab L'Eau Couture which is maybe the best jasmine soliflore around, a real sleeper. To me Rouge Baccarat is terribly overrated. So we'll see.

Lovely review! This original you have from the 1940s original formula. Is that size a 5 ml? Eau de Toilet? Thank you for your help 💗🌸🌿

Thank you for this wonderful review. To me, nothing smells quite as classy and complex yet powdery, soft, and subtle, as the original Miss Dior. I sprayed it on cashmere sweaters as an everyday scent back in the early 2000's. Recently though I smelled Chanel's Coromandel and i thought I must be imagining it but I thought I noticed a similarity there. Could you possibly do a comparison of those two scents?

Thank you so much for watching 🥰. Unfortunately, I don't have Coromandel in my collection but once I get a decant or sample I'll definitely make a comparison. It makes me curious as well 😁

@@LivingIntheRedDot Thank you so much! I was at the Chanel perfume counter in an exclusive store when another customer rushed in and said she had to get the largest bottle of Coromandel because she was obsessed with it. She said that when she first put the sample on her skin it smelled awful, but later she smelled her hand again and couldn't believe how good it was. So I put some on, and had the same experience. It smelled awful at first but after a while It smelled so wonderful, and familiar! At first I couldn't place it, but then I thought it smelled a bit like the original formulation of Miss Dior which I used to wear everyday. So I thought I must be imagining it. Of course the salesman at the Chanel counter was highly offended when I suggested any kind of similarity, lol. I haven't purchased it yet (it's quite expensive so I want to be sure), but I would love to hear your opinion!

I am so sad the classic one is not produced anymore. Could you recommend some others available which remind you of the classic one? Thank you.

Oh dear it's quite difficult because they don't make scents like this anymore. It has a vintage-y feel and I don't really have a lot of those. So if it's the vintage-y feel you like maybe try Shalimar Souffle or Tom Ford Violet Blonde if you can find it (discontinued). If it's the galbanum note you like, which is strong in Miss Dior Original, maybe try Chanel No. 19 Poudree. Thanks for watching 🥰
