- Powerful Mounted Triangle
This is my favorite submission. The triangle from mount is a very high percentage position which offers a lot of control and finishing option. At the same time it is relatively easy to get into.

The game is evolving. This is almost a side triangle,
Love it
Thanks 😊
I've been shooting for the mounted triangle I'm every roll for the last month or so... Thanks for the additional details Wim.
My pleasure 😊
Let me know if these details made a change for you!
Two details that I'm already sure will; keeping my elbow open when isolating the arm and the sprawling motion after I bring my head on top of his own. But I'll try it out in Open Mat today.
Good luck 😊
Its a rear triangle, but its a very slick entry for it. Def going to give it a go
Thanks a lot 😊
It's considered a rear triangle yes.
But... if you start in a regular triangle and your opponent starts slowly spinning, you come through all different angles of triangles.
The color spectrum slowly shifts from one color to another, you can never really say exactly where green ends and blue begins.
The same is true for the triangle.
When does the "regular" triangle end and the "rear" begin?
Giving it different names, makes people think that they are different techniques.
Rather than different aspects of the same technique and that the "rear" triangle (45° angle backside) is the most favorable one.
The same applies for closed guard and backcontrol; same position, different angle.
I believe thinking about Jiu Jitsu like this - in aspects of the same, rather than different techniques - gives you a more coherent understanding of the art.

This is beautiful! Thanks from 🏴
My pleasure 🙏😊

This was EXACTLY what I needed to see. THANK YOU!!!! Can't wait to add this to my arsenal! 😈
Awesome 😊 my pleasure

Thank you 😊
@@WimDeputterBJJ you're welcome. 🙂
This wild 😮 the side control T-City
What do you mean? 😊
One of my favorite subs.
My single most favorite 😊
Great lesson!
Thank you 😊
Glad you find it useful!
Beautiful

Thanks 🤜🤛😊
White belt comment and question:
1. The forearms wider to limit getting swept was very helpful. If nothing else, thank you for that.
2. My balance is, well, it’s trash. Awful. Abysmal. Terrible. I’m referring to getting swept. If you have them, would you be willing to point me to your videos on balance insofar as equalizing weight (heavier up top and lighter in the legs or vice versa)?
Grateful for your instruction. Thank you.
Good questions Mark!
These two short videos are exactly about that: ua-cam.com/users/shortsIGX6BQXrqgM?feature=shared

This old playlist has a lot valuable content on that subject as well: ua-cam.com/play/PLRKfeCgo0JFVguwMssJlvyi8IaGqEhZtS.html&feature=shared
@@WimDeputterBJJ, thank you so much. I appreciate you.
Likewise Mark 😊🙏 Thank you for your questions!
Did the videos help you a bit?
@@WimDeputterBJJ, so far no. It isn’t because of any teaching. It’s operator (me 😂). As a 50YO white belt, I’ll just say the mind is willing, but the body doesn’t quite move the way it used to. I’m here for the experience and process of learning a new discipline. I will continue to try this though.
Where are you from Mark? 😊
Mate, huge fan from nz. How do you stop them from escaping out the back (or freeing the head) once you remove the leg staple?
Thanks!
Hey! Thanks man 😊
Could you describe a bit more precise what you mean? Or pinpoint the exact moment in the video?
Can't breathe it is in my mouth bro
😄😄 not my problem!
"sweep the trail" isn't what you thought it was.
What do you mean? 😊
Isn't this a rear triangle? Good details, though.
Thanks a lot 😊
