    I’m new. Just got this in my recommendations. Didn’t know people were doing this at home. What do people buy? What brand is best? Is this good for very severe ADHD ? Or trauma? Or depression? Thanks.

    - He outlines 10 common mistakes people make with at-home neurofeedback:
    1. Having unrealistic expectations about results from minimal training. More consistent, frequent training leads to better results.
    2. Getting too focused on scores from the exercises rather than the overall experience.
    3. Not subscribing to his UA-cam channel.
    4. Getting frustrated by the technology involved.
    5. Trying advanced techniques too early before mastering basics.
    6. Not setting up a consistent routine.
    7. Trying to do it alone rather than joining communities.
    8. Becoming discouraged by faulty gear and not reaching out for support.
    9. Not asking questions out of feeling new to the field.
    10. He encourages asking questions on his videos, which he will personally respond to.

      @@CodyRallMD NeurOptimal works beautifully for me. Officially for “stress management” like most biofeedback devices, by enhancing brain flexibility and resilience, it seems to be helpful for emotional trauma, anger management, attention and focus issues. Memory, too - was pleased to have an opportunity to help an older woman who ultimately died due to Alzheimer’s to review, during conversations while providing neurofeedback, the arc of her life, enabling her to face and process long-suppressed issues. Seemed to help her recognize family members better, too. I love it, and many of my clients do, too. Very gentle form of neurofeedback. I switched to it many years ago when I decided I didn’t want to risk even short-term side effects from attempting operant conditioning of brain functions.

    Hi Cody!
    1) How can we really understand the nature of thought through BCI? Will we ever be able to reach a point where Mind reading would be possible by wearing a device?
    2) Can we use BCI to put an end to the debate of dualism vs materialism and find answers to concepts like astral travel, time travel, multiverse, etc?

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Siddharth! 1. I think we are a long way off from full-on mind reading, like what is shown in the movies. I think we will have abstract biomarker indicators of thoughts like focus, attention, surprise, disgust, pleasure, euphoria, relaxation... ect. We should have those mapped out over the next 5 years, but much higher resolution of thought lexicon will take longer. We will need to map out the language centers and determine how those are activated by non-auditory verbal thought strings. 2. These I think will take advancements in physics and likely not be determined by BCI measurements alone. Although they will surely help.

    1. Please share the list of groups to find other nfb enthusiasts and testers. 2. I wanna improve my executive functions which device/protocol is the best? 3. When will I perceive the benefits if I start with any these devices today? 4. To what extend can it help me improve attention, emotional regulation and more? 5.

    • @CodyRallMD

      Search for Heart Mind Alchemy Group and Mendi Community or Mendi Beta Testers on Facebook. I would suggest Mendi for executive function control. Benefits should start after doing it for about a month. Extent of improvement will depend on person and the amount they train (i.e. starting from a deficit vs population norm). Thanks for the questions Aravind!

    When I bought a medical model EEG Thought Technology machine in 2011, I was able to put two clients on the same screen and have them entrain their visible brainwaves. I called it Mind Phasing. Since switching to EEG headsets in 2016, I have never found equipment that would let me do the same thing. I watch your videos. Don't see entrainment there. What can I use that won't cost a lot?

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Max, have you tried calibrating different ways? My suggestion would be to calibrate early in the morning before your brain has fully woken up yet and then do the exercise. I think you might have more consistent increase in frontal lobe blood flow without the ball going down every time you exhale.
