- Hi everyone, this is Winnie. I’m so happy that I finished this landscape embroidery, I draw directly onto the fabric, then start to add lot of colors. It’s almost like actual painting, only with needle and thread. It’s my first time trying landscape, so it’s challenging and fun for me. Hope you will like it.
Stitches used: Long & short stitch, needle painting, French knot
Fabric: Cotton
Thread: Cotton thread 1 strand

Hello Tara, Thanks 🙏🏻 Mostly I use cotton embroidery stranded floss (DMC), sometimes I mix and use silk thread for small details.

I use a part of those phone stand to hold the hoop onto the table.

Hi, Thank you. I do other stitches too. But for landscapes, I usually only use needle painting (some people call it thread painting).

Thanks, I don’t like to trace patterns, so I usually just draw a simple sketch.

What kind of stitches do you use?
I’m kinda new but I think I saw backstitch and simplified french knot. But I can’t tell what stitch you use for the majority of the portrait.
It’s mostly needle painting, similar as long & short stitch.

Hi, yes it’s not that easy to select colors. I use a lot of similar colors( those numbers in a sequel) and sometimes just have to try, if I don’t like it, I cut it out and redo.
