Seatown to Eype fossil hunt

in todays video we head along seatowns east beach towards eype
we don't go all the way to eype
but we do find some great fossils along the way
i wish i had flown the drone further along and done a long sweeping view from one end to the other …we live and learn lol but I'm sure my drone footage will get better as i get more used to it

Yeah it was pretty good I was amazed at how much we found. Definitely going back over the winter period I think it will be great after a storm

I remember seeing the Stihl saw cutouts there and thinking similar to you, but, on reflection, I can’t really see how else you would effectively recover the specimen. 🤷‍♂️

I believe the use of power tools on sssi sites is forbidden without permission, but I'm unsure if this applies to fallen blocks or just bedrock / cliffs
But u do have a slight point there. One one hand it's the only way to collect them but on the other should they be left in that case for everyone to see it's a real chicken n egg situation lol
