Indeed~She will never be forgotten~~She just had that something special and unique~~No one will ever come close to this amazing in every way artist~~So very beautiful~~She was the whole package and more~~
Selena was one hell of a great singer!!! She was the whole package. Beautiful, sexy, can sing and dance like no other and was so down to earth and kind. I still listen to her “Dreaming Of You” album to this day.

In my opinion, Selena is the greatest artist in history, sin duda. Her vocals ranged from as soft as silk to throwing down like no other artist I've ever heard - just listen to the end of "Captive Heart", for instance - and she could draw on any musical style, without making the listener feel like she was "out of her realm". EVERYTHING was her realm. And, she was incredlbly innovative. She was doing things within the genre of Tejano that I don't think any of its other artists were even thinking about at the time,, such as combining Cumbria and Mariachi into the same song. And, Chris once said that when they were recording, 99.9% of the time, she could come up with something to add to the song that would make it even better. Some people might not know it, but the slow intro to COMO la FLOR that she did when she sang it in concert was her idea. And, she did some songwriting of her own, as well. She was always up for a challenge, so I feel like she'd probably be writing and co - writing a lot more of her songs today. Don't even get me started on her charisma - spellbinding. I never got the chance to see her perform live, but even in concert footage, it's like you can't take your eyes of of her, but not just in a "beauty" sense. It was her total command of the stage, which seemed to come so naturally to her. She once said that she felt like a different person on stage - totally uninhibited - and I believe that was truly her element, and where she was "in the zone", so to speak. Add to her talent and her charisma her humility and her sense of civic responsibility - her work in the community is well - known - and you pretty much have the reasons why I respect and admire Selena so much. It's not just the music, it's the person she was overall. She rightfully occupies a place not only in the pantheon of musical legends, but also in the hearts of millions throughout the world, and there will never be another like her.

Ah, NO. Is he responsible for a genre of music being known all over the world? No. Did he ever have 5 albums on the charts at the same time? No. Was he the first artist in his genre to win a Grammy, or have one of his records attain gold status? No. Was he the first artist of his genre to have an album debut at number 1? No. Could he sing multiple styles of music in 2 languages? No. Did his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony draw a bigger crowd than any other in the history of The Walk of Fame? No. Did he break attendance records at the Houston Astrodome 3 years in a row? No. Did he have to prove himself both on the basis of his talent AND on the basis of his gender in what had always been a male - dominated genre, and succeed beyond the wildest dreams of his detractors, anyway? No. So, you'll have to explain the reasoning behind your claim that Michael Jackson was "way better", because frankly, he's not that impressive to me compared to Selena. I'm impressed by achievement - "firsts" and "onlys" - not by hype.

I'M AN ASS MAN BABY 👏 oh 👏 hell 👏 to 👏 the 👏 no! Michael Jackson was good but Selena was far better. Her personality alone could outshine all of Michael's talents. If Selena and MJ were alive and performing on stage, Selena would be the lead performer and MJ her backup dancer, and Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, and that girl with that big ass head Ariana grande would all be her chorus singers. And they would all probably wash Selena's underwear once a week.

Omg finally somebody that brings up this song donde quiera que Estes. its one of my favorites I can play over and over again, and never get tired of it. this is where Selena really shows that she can do any genre any style of music and still do amazing at it. when I was a little girl I fell in love with the music, and I got the purple dress made for me lol and growing up learned the similarities that we have, same birthday, Latinas, except for the talent lol

It's not so much his looks it's his demeanor and the way he presents himself. Even in interviews back in the Dino's days Chris looked very passive and sweet. I think Chris was just trying to find himself back in the day and trying to fit in with his friend witch explains the trouble he got into back then. Then after loosing his precious Selena one can only imagine how that crushed him and his heart. His drugs where probubly his way of self medicating.

Pete Astudillo was also part of that secret weapon. To me they were the triple threat behind the scene writing the most progressive and influential lyrics to AB’s sound on those hits. A.B wasn’t fluent in Spanish so that’s where Pete and Ricky came in. Sure, he helped but they actually wrote the bulk of the words! A.B combined their lyrics to some of the best sounds in tejano music back then . Then Selena sealed it with her voice and performance of those songs. The perfect band. They were The Perfect Band.

That's true but at the same time A.B.'s talent and contributions weren't exactly in the shadows like Ricky Vela. I'm not saying A.B. wanted recognition but I think Ricky was uncomfortable with the spotlight and just wanted to work his magic in a humble way.

Ricky Vela was composing songs for Selena way before A.B started to when they were just kids in the early 80’s. In a way Ricky was the blue print for what A.B would later do for Selena’s career in the 90’s. Even then every time A.B was writing for Selena he always leaned on Ricky for help. Ricky was truly the MVP

Thank you for sharing. I never knew Selena when she was alive. My father was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. I was born and raised in Cal when I heard about Selena. Great loss. The beautiful thing Selena is still a great role model for many today.

In his book and other interviews he has said that song he cannot even listen to because it still upsets him. He said Selena called him after she finished recording it and asked him to come listen to it. He told her, “I can’t because I’m still helping out the artist Abraham😡 asked me to help.” He said, to this day he regrets not going.

Han pasado tantos años, uno nunca olvida al ser amado, pero con el tiempo los recordamos de forma diferente cuando ya aceptamos y asimilamos que ya no volverán; lo digo xq perdí a la persona más importante en mi vida y como Chris tuve que seguir mi camino con mis recuerdos en el corazón, las personas que llegaron después a mi vida llenaron el vacío sin restarle importancia a la persona que partió.
