    The ideas that you have presented in this video is causing me to rethink my entire system. I currently use Craft, Things 3, and Calendar. With Notion I can make it all in one and your ideas make it very possible and simple. Love it and you have made a believer out of me with Notion. I've always wanted to use it but Craft was easier to setup so I went with it.

    Just FYI you can add the "project template" to the refrences in the template. It will automatically update to whatever you name the project and you don't have to do any extra steps. You wouldn't need to duplicate a project or update the information if you click new project, it would do it automatically fromt the template.

    Amazing template that helped me through the complexity of Notion and all the options that are available. I do however have one need that is unfortunately not being fulfilled by this template and was wondering if you could help me. Would it be possible to add a notes database where I have a clear overview of all my notes and work with an inbox like feature? Asking because I use the Notion Saver extension for Google Chrome so I am able to save resources very quickly… Hope you have a tip or could make a tutorial about this!

      In case it serves as a reference, I will tell you my case. Before coming across this template, I had created my notion template following the steps in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vs8WQh2k-Ow/v-deo.html
      The system that this other solution proposes covers very well the topic of taking notes, classifying them and viewing them initially in your "inbox", but since I felt that it was lacking in the temporal management part, I continued investigating.
      Now I'm trying to hybridize both systems to make them work together and get the best of both.

    Hi, I’m currently using your “Headquarters” template in Notion and I’m impressed by its functionality. I have a query about integrating a comprehensive project within it. My goal is to manage the project effectively in Notion, tracking progress, managing tasks, and compiling all related information. Could you advise on the best way to integrate a main project with its sub-components and tasks in the template, while keeping it organized and clear? Any tips or guidance would be much appreciated!
    Thanks for your great work on this template!

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  11 місяців тому +2

      hey :) great question. So basically, all you need to do is create tasks then label select the project it belongs to. then you'll start building up all the tasks related to that project. So when you want to focus on that project, you go to that project's own page. In there, you'll find all the tasks relating to it and all the notes relating to it as well! :D

    • @ChortyWhy
      @ChortyWhy 11 місяців тому

      @@ProductiveSetups Thank you for your prompt response and the helpful information. It sounds like an effective way to manage projects and their tasks within the "Headquarters" template.
      I have an additional question: Is there a way to create new, individual pages within the template and set them up so that they directly connect with the main functions of the "Headquarters" template? For instance, if I'm on a specific project page and create a new task there, can this task automatically be integrated into the central task pool of the "Headquarters"? Is there an integrated feature or a workaround that would enable this functionality?
      Thank you once again for your support and dedication to this fantastic template!

      Hey :) So basically, in this bit you create a Bottleneck and do some journaling about the problem. Through journaling about it you'll likely find the route of the issue and that's when you'll break down the problem into actionable tasks and add those tasks to the database. :) That way you can hopefully get rid of the problem and excel faster at what you're trying to achieve

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  11 місяців тому +3

      hey, what a great question. I might write a newsletter actually about this topic as I'm sure others might be wondering too :) i'll do some examples. an assignment that's due tomorrow and has 80% weight on your final course grade would be HIGH urgency, and HIGH importance. It's 80% of your overall grade, and it's due tomorrow. Then let's say journaling and planning out your future career goals. This is important, but not very urgent. You could do that task tomorrow or in 3 weeks and it won't make a huge difference. But it's very important to do because it can have a big impact on your life. Urgent and Not Important could be a meeting request from a coworker. They want to chat today (urgent) but its not about anything important (just a catch-up chat). Then not urgent and not important is tasks that should just be deleted. :) I hope this makes sense! :D

    Hi!
    I have 2 questions.
    1. What do you recommend for timetabling something like work (or study) shifts? Kind of like your timetabling standalone video one with recurring tasks. Would that be possible with this template somehow?
    2. Any suggestions for implementing a notes system that works with folders, so for regular notes and files to be organised in folders, and can be linked to projects and topics aswell. I've been currently using IOS Notes so was trying to import everything over.
    Should I just try adding a new workspace for this? Or is that probably too complex and what Life Buckets are for.
    I'm abit new to Notion so apologies if these are Noob questions, still slowly learning how to configure templates myself :D. No stress if too much effort to try explain or answer.

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  Рік тому +5

      hey! thanks for your question :)
      1. if you have different shifts each week then definitely just adding them as tasks into the task list / calendar database. Basically in Notion, you can view the same information (database) as multiple different views. So in this template you can see your task list as a list, a weekly view, your tasks for just today and the entire month. So you can schedule out all your shifts in the month view so you can see all of that in there which is really helpful :) then you can time-block your day as well.
      2. The notes system is built in, go to 11:08 timestamp for explanation of how the notes work. Basically when you take a note it can get added to a specific project page, life bucket, topic of interest and the general notes page as well :) It's really intuitive because you can find relevant info in the places you would want to see them
      Hope this helps! 😊

    Hi, I just bought your template and as a heavy note taker I wonder, what is the difference between Topics and Life Buckets? I have many fields of interest that could be life buckets, but have no idea if I can connect Notes and tasks to either topics or life buckets easily... (or are life buckets only a bucket for bigger things like projects?)

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey, fair question :) So Topics are for your Resources. You could have a Topic on "Productivity" for example. This wouldn't necessarily be a "Life Bucket". A Life Bucket is a big area in your life (that can then have projects as part of it).

I had a hard time figuring out where the templates were for some of the items. But, finally got it, though I can't find them outside of following the video! lol Anyway, that's a me problem, I think. I've been using your template for about a week now and I have a few questions but not sure how to reach out to you other than here. One feature that I'm missing, which may be a Notion limitation, being able to "deeplink" to other programs. Take my email for example. I practice 0 inbox and in my previous system I was able to archive the email but yet still have a link to it within the project so I could reference it in the future if needed. Is there a way to do this with notion?

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  9 місяців тому

      So this is a Notion thing, not a HQ thing. But, you can add a DeepLink into Notion on a URL property. Or if you want to DeepLink to a specific Notion page, you need to ensure you make that specific page "published to web", that way people can see it :) Hope that helps!

    Hi,
    Thank you for this amazing template and framework, it's just what I was looking for (Simple but complete) 😄
    But I have some doubts about how to handle events (birthdays, exams, repeated intervals, etc.)
    First I thought about using "your tasks are your calendar" and add something like "type" to tasks and separate (tasks, events, birthdays, exam, etc.) but I think this can get so complex and messy over time. Specially recurring ones.
    My second approach was the idea of a separate database for events and then, when planning, try to match things. (Can get messy?)
    The third one was to have only a Birthday database apart from the others, which only function is to remind me about birthdays. (Using a formula for repeating reminders yearly)
    The tasks database would have ("type" = event / task) and then I could just filter info using views.
    My last resource would be to use Google calendar, but I really like the idea of having all things in one place 🙃
    What are your recommendations about handling events, birthdays, reminders, etc.?

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  11 місяців тому +2

      hey :) thanks for your questions. For this, all I do is label birthdays as "personal". Then I look at my month and see all the stuff labeled as "personal" and see if it's something I need to prep for. If it is, (i..e buy someone a gift) then I just create the task of "buy BLAH a gift" on the day I'll go buy it. :) hope that helps! (same idea for exams, etc but with a different label)
