I'm absolutely here for fictional Sabaton. The funny part is, even though it's a video game, real actual human people struggled for weeks in that godforsaken jungle for the better part of two months.

I can't wait to see how many more of these "historical" events this game spawns. Everyone that plays this game remembers the fall of The Creek, when we took it back, when we defeated the bots only for them to surge back... crazy lore that we are a canonically a part of
Its barely been a week and we already got one. Reclamation day was genuinely horrific, actual bloodbath. I've never seen so many mission failures and losses
Many will never know the hell of the survivors of Draupnir. Of the battles that were fought to keep the supply lines to Malevelon Creek open. Nor the Protectors of Draupnir. The Warriors of Malevelon were the Blade, The Defenders of Draupnir their Shield. And ultimately they would unite to take back Malevelon Creek.

I was there to defend Draupnir, as well as crawl through the Creek. Draupnir was bad, but the Creek was DEFINITELY worse.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joakim asks to cover this, as far as I know the band is entirely a bunch of good-natured nerds.
They HAVE made a few game songs. World of Tanks commissioned one from them even if memory serves,

They said they won't write songs about things other than historical events and material. People submit Star Wars recommendations all the time and they won't do it, tho they have joked about Stormtroopers being about Star Wars.
@@Superagent666 I could see them doing this as a bonus track in an album special edition or as a live tour extra. They've done a few less serious songs before like the Metal Trilogy set and also put in some covers as special edition bonuses.

He did it again, and right after we took back The Creek! A more fitting memorial for the Divers we lost, I cannot imagine. This deserves a whole pot of Liber-Tea.

I was a day one dropper, and I was called a madman for how obsessed I was with defending Malevelon. I've never had such a pure experience in a game as I did on the Creek. The absolute madness of it, the frantic strategems, the screaming, smoke, and ashes..... It was perfect. Down to the last detail.

We thank all those divers who fought at the creek. Even when the major orders said to go elsewhere, there were those brave few who held the line and made it possible for that final push when the critical time came. We salute those fantastic Helldivers!

@@reecedawson3435 Nonsense. I don't know how people convince themselves or others of this. When help was needed in the bot sectors there were tens of thousands of people fighting bugs rather than helping where they were actually needed. Why are you not going after them for your failures?
@@moebiusjdx7288 Because there's no chance to get them to fight bots if they don't want to, people fighting on the creek instead of the other major orders weren't helping at all despite being at the bot side already
SES Knight of Independence cut it’s teeth against the Automatons at Melevelon Creek. There were many many casualties among the experienced divers coming there from the front against the bugs. We had to adapt to our new foes, and our lessons were were counted by the number of those we lost in the battle.
SES Harbinger of destruction. same the divers on this ship started with the bugs and once they started fighting the bots things changed. they stopped engaging in all out fire fights and went for guerilla warfare from the ranks of cadet till now of star marshal they have been having trouble adjust to the fact that bots are now gone. and are having to adjust

This gives me pride for a unified country that doesn't exist and I love it.
Once I started playing Helldivers 2, the first songs that came to my mind from Sabaton were Shiroyama, Last Stand, Verdun, and Winged Hussar. This song is not bad.
_Resist and Bite_ describes the attiitudes about early Malevelon Creek pretty accurately, honestly.
I like to imagine there is a Sabaton equivalent in the Helldivers universe that is making songs like this. Would fit very well in-universe

I remember the creek.
I dove in a 4 man. Command asked us to take out key bot infrastructure. You were almost grateful when another tank fell from the sky because it cleared sight line in that hellish jungle.
One by one my squad fell. We got some reinforcements but it wasn't enough and they too fell to battle. At the end it was just me.... trying to hold out against a hoard of clankers screaming in binary. Waiting on the pelican. Eagle one had to pull out.... the pelican came for the emergency extract.... but there was no way to reach the ramp. They say I made it back. They say I'm the real me. But I know that canon shot blasted my corpse onto the pelican... I know I died when it hit.
I played this song to my little children...
...They destroyed Boston Dynamics with their little hands, and gave me the fist salute.
