Hey writer friends! This topic was so much fun to talk about! Let me know what kind of writerly side hustle you want to start or have started and if you have any other questions or want to see more videos on this topic!! 😃❤️
Hi Brittany.
I started a blog of a new idea on the topic Business.
thought about making money off of my material.
I want you to read my blog then tell me what you think.
After you finish reading you can leave a comment below.
I like to hear other people's thoughts about my brand name.
You can read my blog here:

I did not expect to hear my name! Thanks Brittany. I have loved following your journey and have learned a lot from you. There are so many ways we can spruce up our income outside of books. Authors are entrepreneurs almost accidentally, so taking it these steps further and doing it intentionally will take us all far in the long run. I can’t believe all the skills we’re acquiring. Keep being awesome 😎
Exactly!! Being an author and entrepreneur definitely go hand-in-hand! You have been such an inspiration to me too, friend and I love that I got to give you a shout out! :D
I'm working on creating my first low content book to sell via Amazon: a journal for writers. I'm make a few and see how that goes....
How did it go?
Great video, thanks Britney. I’ve just started an authortube channel and love realistic tips like these.x
You had me at “supplement my husband’s income.”
some people actually like their husband enough to help them
So many great ideas! Thanks for sharing Brittany! 😁
Thanks Natalia! Hope it's alright that I mentioned you and your editing services in here! Author Girl Bosses unite! :D
Love this! I DO have an idea on which I’m slowly bringing together! Love your enthusiasm♥️
So exciting Elizabeth! Let me know when you get it going!!
I started my service as a creative lifestyle mentor (combining my psychology degree with my creative passions) and started a webshop with products especially for writers as stationery and merch, it still needs to kick in, but I am really excited about this new beginning :D and one day I hope I can publish my books with the money gained from these (because I will have to print out my books, as Hungarian/Romanian languages aren't yet available on Amazon). This was a really great video, it helps me improve my services and promote them better, thank you so much. Have a blessed day, Brittany!
I would like to ask do you consider someone has to have a number of followers before starting Patreon?
That's so exciting Timi!! And so glad my ideas could help inspire you to help you move forward with your biz!! As for Patreon, I think it definitely helps to have a larger following before starting one. Statistically, those that will support you financially will only be a fraction of the people already engaged with your free content. Plus, it's always good to learn a lot about what your audience actually wants from you through your free content first before doing all the work to set up a Patreon that might not gain momentum. That being said, if you have a smaller audience but they are SUPER engaged and are already asking for more of your time / tips, than I'd start brainstorming your Patreon tiers and then put those ideas out to those that are really engaged with you and ask them if they would be interested in those kind of things or other things from you. Then adjust and try it out!
We definitely talk more about all this in my Patreon group so if you'd like some more personal mentorship about this, we'd love to see you over there!
@@AuthorBrittanyWang Thank you so much, Brittany!
Loved this video, Brittany! Some great options here - can't wait to try some of them out!

...
I love watching these types of videos! Do you plan on reopening your boot camp anytime soon?
Thanks so much Leilani!! And YES! Actually I'm announcing the dates for the next one TODAY at Noon EST on Instagram Live and also going to share how you can get $25 off!! Let me know if you have any questions after I announce it!
So I'm 13 and I was wondering if would it be better to practice writing for when I get older or if I should explore other things I might want to do when I'm older. I also have wanted to be a physical therapist for quite some time but I also love writing! I have even already written a mini novel in school this last month for NaNoWriMo. Do you think when I'm older I could possibly write and have my dream job? I mean I'm almost in high school and I need a basis on what to do for my career prep class. Any advice anyone..?
Go with what your gut says!! It's honestly never too early to work on your writing and if you find that it's not really something you're interested in for a career, then that's okay! I would say that whatever interests you the most in the present is what you should focus on pursuing. You will have plenty of time later in high school and especially in college to work on whatever it is you want to do - whether that be writing or something else. It never hurts to try!
@@turib6526 thank you!
@@darcik3743 I agree with Turi B. Go with what interests you at present. Even if you change your mind later on, you'll definitely learn skills that you can use in whatever new career path you choose to go. No experience is ever wasted once you do your best and remain open to learning new things (not just school things, life things)
Also, there's no reason you won't be able to do both in the future. You can be a writer/physical therapist if you wish! All the best. ^_^
@@kaalad3666 thank you, you seem like a good person 😅
Write!!! If you enjoy writting then write!
ty so much!! I love writing :) working on a poetry book subbed
I am here for these ideas.
What if I write stories, poems and quotes to inspire with nostalgia full of euphoria and melancholy? Will I make it or would I just be like that pied piper hoping to get paid?
Thank you for your information and ideas.
Hi thank you for this video, I am too a unpublish author. I always like the idea of web creating and book trailer creating and though I know a few things about creating a website from scratch I still not a lot of practice and haven't done any for anyone yet. Could I still do this even if I don't have a degree in this? If experience is more important than I guess I need to focus on that. :D I'm sorry for the rant. I hope you have a lovely day. 😊
No apologies necessary, love this! I don't have a degree in web design either. I just had skills and knowledge that could help others. I did my research to figure out what people wanted help with most, put my best out there and people have found it helpful so I went with it and continue to grow it!
@@AuthorBrittanyWang Awesome! Im glad you like this 😄. Thank you for replying, i still really enjoy creating web site so i think i might work on getting better. After all I do want to be able to self-publish my book once its done. 😊
I write prose that turns into poetry....can I still get paid?
Can I do this as a teenager?
Great video! Love your energy. I've subscribed! Signed, A Poet & UA-camr ;)
Because of my background, I have so many things that I can help with when it comes to a side-hustle. The trick for me here is figuring out which way to go. I could help with creating WordPress websites since I've been a web designer for the past six years, but I'm sure that I don't want to build websites for people from scratch. I already have a WordPress course with several hundred students, but I feel like I'd need to restructure it and make it less of a beginner course and more geared towards authors. I also have a background in internet marketing and could help in that area. That would probably bring me more joy. I wouldn't mind creating worksheets, workbooks, pdfs, etc. either. There's just sooooo much to think about. lol
So many good ideas and expertise you have, Amanda!! And I would totally check out your Wordpress course for authors! I've been wanting to learn that platform too for a while now!
@@AuthorBrittanyWang - thanks! Maybe I'll work on that! :) I'm still pondering all the things! lol
Marketing g is definitely something I need help with.
Did you need a social platform? I believe I’m a good writer and have some fun stories, however when filling out the application it asked for my social media platforms, which I don’t have set up yet. I probably won’t get accepted based off that or maybe they’ll think my writing sucks, but was wondering how important a writing platform is for them?
If you don’t have followers, you will struggle.
Subbed
The video starts at 2:06 before that there is so much talky talky. Would be nice if the video would be more simple and exact, instead of adding so much unnecessary talk. Also the way you frame yourself, cutting of your head, looks weird.
Please get the points on this video 10 minutes in And I still haven’t learned anything
the video isn’t even 10 minutes long
What are you talking about? This video isn't 10 minutes for one. Two she's getting the point faster than some I've viewed in the past who just vagued everything and was just shilling their "workshops."
Merch from Teespring or other companies.
Great video, thanks Britney. I’ve just started an authortube channel and love realistic tips like these.x
