All deleted scenes from Meet the Robinsons

- Did you know that Meet the Robinsons has many deleted scenes that totally change the movie? There's one where Lewis meets his mother, and it's very different from what we saw in the film. The same goes for the final shot with Bowler Hat Guy. And besides these, there are a bunch of other significant changes. I was pretty surprised when I saw some of them. They're super interesting and add a whole new layer to the movie. So, let's dive right in.

I think I understand WHY they didn't make older Goob wake his younger self up instead of Lewis.
It's because the moment that the younger Goob is woken up and helps them win the game, the older, decrepit Goob would...disappear. All that he learns, and all the change he gets, it's just gone, because there'll be a different, better Goob in the future who's not bent on revenge.
However, it would've been a nice and sad scene for old Goob to wake up young Goob, and Lewis being next to him happy, just to realize old Goob's about to disappear, and old Goob just goes like "You don't have to be sad, Lewis. We'll meet again, after all. All you have to do is keep moving forward.", and disappears.
Yes in a way it would’ve. But the only problems is Doris not doing anything and Goob not realizing that Doris was just using him.
That's depressing

At the same time, if we saw him transform into his new alternate form, nicer clothes, better health, and a flood of memories of the wonderful life he had as a result, it could also be neat.
@@hiddendesire3076 I agree with both sides honestly. All time travel movies have paradoxes. Wilbur brought Lewis to the future then he disappeared from existance so if he disappeared from existence that means he could not have gone back in time to bring Lewis to the future and he would therefore no longer be in the future. Brain hurting yet?
Regarding the deleted scenes made the original plot a whole lot different
At least the scenes were finished unlike MANY of them in Frozen 2.

Bowler Hat Guy (grown-up Goob) is pathetic and hilarious in thinking he could destroy Robinson Industries with just eggs and toilet paper. Did he really think he could "wipe out" Lewis/Cornelius?
I believe the reason why they cut out Goob waking himself up is because there is a massive futuristic time machine sitting 10 feet in the air beside a baseball game. It looked rediculous and thus was cut to Lewis waking Goob up as it made more sense.

That's a good change because in the end, meeting his Mother doesn't/shouldn't change him.

The whole plot of the movie was for Luis to find his real family he Does Not Know But instead chose tricky Obstacles in The way Of doing So
I think they finished some of these in the DVD blu-ray edition. I remember a lot of these scenes in color and fleshed out, but NOT in the actual movie. Very well put together video by the way!
Supposedly theres a theory that the wedding scene with Lewis's adoptive mom. That the brides maids were the lady who ran the orphanage and lewis's birth mother.
I know I've seen the scene where Bowler Hat Guy woke Goob up to catch the ball, either in the theater or on television.

I still like lewis idea of the robinsons adoptong goob however I also understand why goob turned it down since he needed to go his own way and find his own life but still

I wish I would have seen this film when I was younger. I deal with issues like Goob from the movie, if I had seen this as a kid I think it could have helped shift my perspective on life and I might be in a better place than where I am now.

Yes! It would have been better for him to be responsible for his future, but that would have made it easier and less dramatic, that’s why they decided to take it of, so he could not be fixed since childhood and still act up as a hurt and traumatized person.
If you wondering why Wilbur's voice sound different in the deleted scenes it was because his VA voice hadn't changed yet. By the time the movie was complete, his voice has changed into what we hear now.
Jeez puberty must’ve hit him like a train. But didn’t Lewis actually have 2 different voice actors ?
Well, in terms of the deleted scene where the grown-up goob wakes up his past self, it wouldn't made sense with the timeline as the bowler hat guy wouldn't have existed since his future would've been changed and the whole reason for the movie's plot to exist would've disappeared. Time is linear, fellas 😅

For me, I prefer where Lewis chooses not to meet his mother because after living in the future, he realizes the past is behind him, and the message of the movie is "Keep moving forward."
All the same though, I feel like it could be nice if they all sat down to a meal at the end, ready to celebrate, when a special guest arrives and is revealed to be her, with a heartfelt message that she was always proud of her son, and was sorry that she couldn’t do more when he was younger, but that everything happens for a reason, and that she’s glad she’s had a lifetime to spend seeing what her adult son has done and how his inventions have changed the world.

TBH , I prefer the deleted scene about Bowler Hat Guy wake himself up better.
(It's a closure to him , and enforce the main concept of "keep moving forward"......as he finally moved on from all this years of bitterness before being erased by the world..
In the final version of the movie we got , even though Michael from the "fixed" timeline got his happy ending......the Bowler Hat Guy from "original" timeline didn't.
Behind the camera , he was left confused and unsure about his life from that point forward , until his existent became erased by the universe and snap into the "happier" Michael from the "fixed" timeline , with no memories about being the Bowler Hat Guy , therefore the OG him never got the closure he deserve.)
I believe Wilbur saying he’s glad to meet his Father would make the movie better.

My Grandpa died of Leukemia Cancer in 1985 he was 76.

Well i know that the first deleted scene would’ve been better but having Louis waking Goob up have him fix his mistake for keeping him up

How would goob's bowler hat exist if it was destroyed before traveling with him?
I actually think it's good they changed that scene with Bowler Hat Man, because the message of the movie is keep moving forward and it's contradictory that his solution would've been going backwards, plus Lewis needed to see how his actions affected Goob, him falling asleep wasn't something he did because of his own actions but Lewis', what was Goob's fault was the way he reacted and behaved after that, if maybe Bowler Hat man talked to himself and told him the opposite of what he told Goob at the start of the movie and said something like "you need to let this go, you are more than that failure, revenge won't give you anything" I could see it as him controlling his own future
The deleted scene from the memory scanner rules out a theory that Luis is a clone of his future self, why would he be a clone?
Why didn't goob just ask to be put in a different room if he was being kept up at nite
I have a theory his mum is also his wife think about it and look at her face and clothes and movements
I would've loved to see this movie get a sequel 😢 It deserves one!
