not really you are supposed to heat the mix up especially if it contains eggs (to break everything down properly) instead of heating and mixing in a sauce pan he just dumped it all into an ice cold bucket

I looked at Walmart for a ice cream maker like this. I could not find one. I found one on Ebay and ordered it the other day. I will have it next week. I am going to York, SC to get some fresh peaches and make homemade peach ice cream. Now the problem is finding ICE CREAM SALT. LOL Just my luck, after all these years of not having a ice cream maker, get one and now can't find rock salt. I can remember my parents making homemade ice cream and they would pack it down with ice after the motor stopped. They had a electric maker too. My mother used to make the best homemade ice cream, she did not have a recipe, she just used a little bit of this and that. I can not wait to make some really good ice cream. There is nothing better than home made ice cream. I have already made my ice from my ice maker and have plenty of ice. Now, to find Rock salt and get my peaches. LOL

Now all you need is the peach cobbler to go with the ice cream

Evelyn Price oh yeah! The good thing about cobbler is that it doesn’t take long to make!

Good video, but what I really want to compliment you on is that great beard you've got. Well-groomed and looking good! I have a beard myself so I can appreciate the work you must put into yours.

Doesn’t sound like you broke it at all! Sounds like a bad motor maybe! I would contact them they might send you a new one out!

I have that exact ice cream maker and have tried that recipe three times. I cannot get it that thick. Maybe I’m not using enough salt but today I used a ton of salt and let it mix for about an hour. The first time I did 30 minutes it was still milk, not set at all. I’ll keep trying and I guess keep eating ice cream till I get it…

Mines all liquid . Do I wait till after it's finished to check it

    • @quarantinedad
      @quarantinedad  3 роки тому

You keep adding ice and salt as it goes a lot of salt and a lot of ice! Then after 30 minutes you have icecream

We make a half recipe because we find the full amount is too much for us...
2 1/4 cups half and half
      1/2 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups of cream (evaporated milk)
      1 1/8 cups of sugar
      Stir to dissolve sugar
      Pour mixture in metal container.
Here is the link to our strawberry ice cream video with more detailed instructions...we used the same recipe but added strawberries: ua-cam.com/video/h9uiEARaj80/v-deo.html
      Hope that helps!

@@quarantinedad Greetings, to clarify, is this a non-cook recipe? Your method seems better in terms of how solid the ice cream is when you pull it out of the container, ours is soft until we freeze it, perhaps it's the milk ingrediant we use in our recipe. Nevertheless, thanks for the share!
