Stereotomy

One good way to understand the volume of your design is by making a Stereotomy, this is basically slices of the volume in different directions, made out of paper, cardboard or even plastic or metal, all depends on time, objective, budget, etc. There are many styles on how to do it, some simple, some very complex. It is all about your skills for precision cutting. Practice, practice, practice...

The back of your yellow knife looks like it's missing something. Was there an end piece? Did that end piece have a narrow slot to put the blade into, so you can use it to break off the end?

Thanks, it may be yes, I honestly don't know. These knifes are in the workshop and parts go missing and we buy many different models, I don't even think about it, I just use the pliers to remove a section of the blade :)
