I saw so many UA-cam videos of people making the ocean waves. Out of all the ones I have seen, I never saw anyone blow theirs down as well. (I’m not saying their isn’t anyone one else doing it this way, I just haven’t seen any other videos of it) they only use their heat gun to blow upwards. Maybe because they aren’t making it very big. Well anyway, yours is gorgeous. It’s the best one that I have seen! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, I am delighted you like it. I tried to make it as realistic as possible and after studying photos of surf, I found that it is not predictable and the movement varies. So that was my attempt. 😁
I've been studying UA-cam and other sites for over a year to learn this technique for a shower floor I'm going to make very soon. Yours is the best yet!!
I’ve watched about 1,000 videos now and this one is by far the best yet!!! I’m planning on doing this as well and the cell(bubbling) is what I’m looking for as well ! I’m planning on doing a battle scene on the beach !🎉
After extensive evaluation, including the resin and hardener in their individual liquid states, when mixed together, during torching and after curing, no component of ArtResin's make-up was found to be harmful, toxic, hazardous, flammable or dangerous when used as directed
At the end of the day resin is a chemical which gives off fumes, especially when heated. So for that reason, I protect myself with appropriate safety gear. You only get one set of lungs, so it is best to err on the side of caution. You of course can do what you feel is right for you. 😁
My dear! Your ideas are amazing! Your inspiration is unbelievable!! How can we possibly choose which one we like more....?? 💖Thank you so much for sharing... We are waiting for a new video...
Finally! I found a channel about resin where I can see truly inspirational and unique art!!!! I'm moving from traditional art to resin and after 6 months of searching and watching I FOUND YOU! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Thank you! Amazing! Exactly what I need :-)))))
I saw a local artist with classes for this online and I had never seen anything like this before. So I looked up a video and saw yours. Its beautiful work and great instructions. I hope mine comes out ok on my first try. If not, I will have fun trying! Thanks for the video.
I tried the Lang Ridge titanium white the other day as I had got a big order of colours from Artisue. I was really impressed with the cells it created I would even say better than the LeRez which I love.
Thanks Sue...I also tell people the brand and viscosity of resin plays a big part in making cells and lacing. Beautiful pour. I’m sharing your video on Laura’s Art Corner 😘😘😘
I’ve been away from art for a while and just now starting to get back into it. Your videos have always been extremely informative as well as quite beautiful and inspirational. Thank you
Great video as always! You make it look so easy, but thank you for saying it just takes practice-there may be hope for me! Have ordered some Le Rez angel white and cannot wait for it to get here! Thank you....
Hello my friend. I'm learning this craft through watching your videos. I've spent the last few months collecting supplies that I will need. I've just ordered my last item. The heat gun. So I'll be trying this soon. My question for you is what brand of paste and colors do you use now that Le Rez is no longer in business. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love your tutorials
Hi Rhonda, i am no longer working with resin, so I can't help with different brands of paste, sorry. I wish you the best finding a good replacement and getting good results. Good luck. 💕
08:42 I can see that as soon as you blow the white resin with the hot air gun, the lace forms. I don't get lace. For me, the white just blurs. I think you are adding some kind of additive (silicone or something else) to the white resin. I am asking for specific information.
I don't use silicone, I have used methylated spirits (turpentine, white spirits), but not always. The key is using the right consistency of resin, not too runny or thick and a good quality white paste. You will find the products I used in the description box below the video. Note, that I am in Australia, so the products I used may not be available to you. So you will have to experiment with different brands. Good luck.
@@SueFindlay I am on the other side of the world - in Bulgaria. Thanks for the advice. I have been doing epoxy for two years now. I've tried everything. And not once did I get "lace". The only way to get the lace is to spray silicone over the resin. Blowing does not work. Thanks again.
So awesome and satisfying to watch 😁 as you do it in this video, when its cured, can you feel the sand through it? If I want a flat surface over the sand, do I have to do another clear layer on top after? Best regards
You can feel the sand, although, that was my intention. You can add more resin to the sand and as it self-levels it will reduce the texture. For a smooth finish, more resin may be needed as a top coat. Or you can use sand coloured pigment and avoid using sand. 💕
Thank you 💕 I don't wait for the blue layer to cure. I add a small dollop of paste on the end of a stick to the resin. You don't need a lot. When mixing, you will see if you need more. 💕
Wow! Maybe a little better explanation of what you are using, but fantastic! Trying to find the • Artisue Powder Pigment - Jade • Artisue Powder Pigment - Sapphire • Colour Obsession Paste - Stormy Seas right now.
Unfortunately, since this video was made, Artisue has closed their doors. Colour obsession are based in Australia, although, they may have stockists elsewhere. The Le Rez iridescent jade and Sea Breeze are the same colour as the Artisue colours. You can find them on my website. Suefindlaydesigns.com.au.
I love your pieces and I do a few clocks myself. Just wondering what paste you use and also the titanium white? Do you also wait a while after mixing? There is usually a good bit of movement..What are the main things you don't do, so to speak. ? I only ask as I'd like to do one for my family, many thanks.
Thank you. I have listed all of the products used in the description below the video. Some of which may not be available anymore as created this piece a few years ago. I didn't wait after mixing. The one thing I don't do, but other resin artists do, is to just blow the white layer back towards the blue water. I prefer to blow directly from above and allow the resin to move in all directions. It breaks the waves up more to give a natural surf look on the beach.
Hi again Sue Well it went pretty well but I need to sort out a few imperfections. Should I sand it a little or just do a pour on top! I like the look and wondered if I would make it worse but it’s not lever.

Fantastic! Thank you 🥰 Good luck with your project. 😁
You are on a level with Bob Ross. I watched as you brought that board to life with those waves. Impressive! ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, thank you! It is an honour to be compared to Bob! 🥰
Never considered adding sand to the resin!! What a fabulous attribute!!
A stunning end result!!! I agree that a hair dryer blows just too hard!!
Thank you, I am glad I have brought you something else to consider in your resin. 😍
Can you say how can I get that sand colour
I’ve watched about 1,000 videos now and this one is by far the best yet!!! I’m planning on doing this as well and the cell(bubbling) is what I’m looking for as well ! I’m planning on doing a battle scene on the beach !🎉
Sounds interesting, good luck with your project 😁

Try mineral spirits or something similar. It doesn't leave residue on the resin. 😁

Fantastic and beautiful ocean art piece!!! Where can I purchase the ocean green and blue colors? Thanks😀
Hi Ken, Le Rez Expressions do a range of nice colours. If you are in the US, take a look at Laura's Art Corner. She stocks them.
Wow! Maybe a little better explanation of what you are using, but fantastic! Trying to find the • Artisue Powder Pigment - Jade

so nice ❤😍 and realistic, new friend
Thank you so much 🤗
Lovely
Thank you 💕
How long have you left the sand layer to harden before adding all the other colours?
I didn't, it is still curing when I pour the resin.
Do you let it dry on each step or do you do it all in one take?
No, I don't let it cure between layers. 😁
Это шедевр!!!!!!! Beautiful!!!!
Thank you 💕
wow, so all done on basically one session! One more question, do you use paste, powder or liquid dyes?
Thank you 🥰 I have used a mixture of powder pigments and paste. You will find a list of the products used in the description. 😁

Hi again Sue
Well it went pretty well but I need to sort out a few imperfections.
Should I sand it a little or just do a pour on top!
I like the look and wondered if I would make it worse but it’s not lever.
merci pour ce partage, je vais essayer demain grâce à vous ! bravo (à quelle température le décapeur ? merci)
How did you get on? My heat gun has two settings, of which I am not sure. My friend has borrowed it for a project. 😁
pas concluant car je n'ai pas réussi les cellules 😁
Did let it dry the ocean colors and sand part, before pouring the clear resin for waves?
No, I didn't wait between layers.
