    Another beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing! I always gain new insights, tips and awesome tricks from your narration. Could you please answer a few questions for me? No hurry, whenever you get a minute or two.
    1. You said that the beach was resin mixed with sand and the texture is quite visible even on my little laptop, then you poured out your blues and greens and they too appear quite thick with texture...what form of pigment did you use? Paste? Powder?
    2. You kept mentioning white paste as you poured your waves, so does that just mean you used a white pigment in paste form?
    3. Do you always use the same brand of resin and pigments, or do you use a variety?
    4. What type and/or brand of pigment is your favorite?
    That's all my questions. Thanks again for sharing your techniques and knowledge! You are awesome!

    This is so beautiful and inspiring! I haven't graduated to using resin yet but this gives me something to look forward to. :) I notice when I apply the acrylic mix to the canvas it doesn't adhere completely (despite being plenty thick) and I get some little patches of white canvas showing through. Is it best to coat the canvas with something first that the paint can bind with? It is an inexpensive canvas. I appreciate your explanations - a true teacher - thank you!

    • @SueFindlay

      If your colours are blending and running too much. Let them sit for about half an hour before pouring the clear and white layers. If that doesn't work, then try a different brand of resin. Good luck. 💕

    So you did not add any catalyst in the resin? And the white you mixed with resin before pouring, is it like normal acrylic paints or pigments?

    What about the white resin we are using for lacing waves , is it preferred to be thin or thick ?

      @SueFindlay  3 роки тому

      I use a medium viscosity resin. It isn't too thick or thin. 😁

      You can buy sand from craft stores.

    At Approximately $70 per liter, I’m curious how much total resin was used to create this triple canvas artwork? As a graphic artist in Texas, I’d like to try to create one canvas like this for my wife for her birthday. Thank you.

      @SueFindlay  4 роки тому

      Wow, that is expensive for your resin. If you buy in bulk, the price comes down quite considerably. I use this resin calculator to get an idea on how much to mix. You need to factor in a little more, if you are going to use real sand. www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/ 💕

    What can I use if I don't have epoxy pigment paste?

    • @SueFindlay
      @SueFindlay  4 роки тому +1

      You can use a number of different things to colour your resin. You can use acrylic paint, inks, pigments and house paint, to name but a few. Just remember to always use less than 10% in your resin to avoid any curing issues. Good luck 💕

    is it okay to blow the resin with heat gun?

    • @SueFindlay
      @SueFindlay  5 років тому

      It is what I use. As long as you don't hold it in one position too long, otherwise you will burn the resin and cause it to smoke.
