- Fishing a local creek that I've only fish one time ever before!! We head out to go exploring and fishing a new creek for whatever bites! One thing about creek fishing is that you never know what could possibly be swimming around! I actually can't believe I caught what I did.. we found a creek giant. I did not expect for this to happen..

Hey my man, you would happen to know Shannon or Phil? She is a property manager at a apartment complex, Phil is the Maintenance Director at the same complex as Shannon.
Don't worry about feeling bad about keeping a bigger stocked trout dude! You are lucky, most people would keep that in a heartbeat to eat.
Just a tip, when I teach people to fly fish, use one weight bigger line so if you have a 5 weight rod, use six weight fly line. It'll make it easier to cast but you won't be able to cast as far. When you can get the line to lay pretty consistently, switch back to the 5 weight line and you will be able to cast farther and the dynamics will still be there from learning. Also using a lighter fly will be easier than a heavy one. 9 foot rods are also the best middle ground to learn as well....when you decide you got the rod down let me know and I'll send you the smallest fly around now. I tie a fly on a size 30 hook. It's literally the size of the nose on a dime. They made a size 32 hook but quit making them so as of now the size 30 is the smallest production hook. You are doing great stuff but these are the videos that you shine! Back to the basic Delaware creek fishing was 35 years of my life. We actually bumped into each other at the trout stream on 896. You should definitely take the yak to Christiana and do a snakehead video. Guys are catching 8+lbs fish right now

@@crissyg10 I have been living in Va for a few years but I know Noxontown pond spillway is definitely a good idea and dragon run has big crappie and bass and it’s got some big pickerel
I'm guessing the water temp is too high for the trout which is most likely why the big one didn't make it. Also explains why they are bunched up there where the water is more oxygen rich and the temp is cooler
I remember watching you as a kid especially the catch and cooks now I have my drivers license and me and my buddies try and fish about every day, it’s awesome

Don’t apologize. That is fishing. As long as you are eating then it’s no problem.
Late in the season from a small body of water with a long-ish fight. Best to take that fish home if it came out of stocked water because once the creek drops more, it won't survive anyway. Good on you for taking it home and not trying to throw it back in and say "oh it'll be fine". I see nothing wrong with harvesting a resource that was put there specifically for harvesting.
trout is all season if you can find them if I think.. one thing to season a trout skin it like a catfish then season then cook the season will bond with the meat better hope that help

Tip dispatch your fish instantly and bleed the gills. It will make your fish taste better getting rid of lactic acid and other things. When they get stiff meat gets weird and mushy
the other two smaller trouts u have can be use for really good catfish bait.....just an idea!

We do that here too in Massachusetts. but we call them Pin fish. and you get a little award and a pin for your hat. and a big award if you get the most pin fish. There is also a catch and release category, and a keep category also a category just for youth anglers.

Dont worry about it tho its okay to keep a bigger trout if it swallows the hook, the rainbows get To 3kg+ in here and the smaller ones are 1kg+ everyone keeps to eat here like me but i rarely catch any

most stocked trout don't make it after being caught this time of year. as water temps increase - the trout become less able to recover after being caught.....

Loved this video we moved to DE from WV we grew up trout fishing in Smoke Hole WV look it up :-). We fished the Delaware site your at about a month ago
