I've had my Model Y for a year now... its perfect. I love it. All my friends and family have it now too after trying mine. Its crazy how good this car is,
I've owned mine since 2020 and its the best car I've ever owned. And the other day, I decided to order another one (2025) because the discounts were just too good to pass up. The new 2026 Juniper Model launching in March is too expensive beciase it comes with all the bells and whistles and I didn't care for FSD.
I never thought of owning a Tesla- I thought they would be outrageously expensive. However I have driven with a co worker for 2 days now in her Tesla and I have fallen in love with the the monitor, GPS and safety. I am a hospice RN and drive all around town. I am definitely getting a model Y !! yea for me
I picked up my new MY yesterday. Needed a car now and after test driving one last fall, the MY was the only car I wanted. Fantastic car! Even after the Juniper update my 2024 is light years ahead of other ICE vehicles and IMO, the best EV out there.
I have a 2020 Y and I am definitely waiting on the refresh. Tesla keeps sending me emails and great incentives on buying a new Y before March 31 but I drove the new Model 3 and was very impressed.
Can you believe I’m getting a Tesla delivery next Saturday and I got a quote to get a wall charger installed and that company quoted me $15,000 to upgrade my electrical panel from 100amp to 200amp. I’m trying to save not waste more!!! These are things one should do prior to buying an EV. Because right now it’s saving me $0.00
You can plug it into existing washer dryer 30 amp plug will do just fine. If you do panel upgrade to 200amp, 15k is insane, find local electrician and pay no more than 1k.
Find a new electrical contractor and say that you want to hook up a welder in your garage. Might be able to avoid the surcharge that some electricians add on because it’s an EV.
I drove a Jag IPace one year, a Mustang Mach E GT Performance for 18 months and my Y Performance one month... Honestly, the Tesla wins in a hundred ways. I test drove a Tesla Y Performance in 2021 and it felt like a golf cart. Tesla acts like it hasn't significantly changed the Y between 21 and 24, but it handles better, feels better, tighter. Yes, I went through debating if I should wait for the new Y Jupiter, but glad I didn't. This Y is awesome and with a 2 year lease. The new Performance will be out. Anyone notice the 3 Performance isn't here yet. The Juniper Y Performance will be amazing and I will be ready soon after they are. Leasing is way cheaper than owning on a monthly basis and it is impossible to not get upside down on a loan in less than 5 years. EV technology changes waaaay too fast to keep a car 5 years...IMHO.
Just bought my first Model Y 3 weeks ago. I got the long range and the only extra was the white interior. I used the fed. rebate to ppf/wrap my vehicle (they now make this as a combined ppf). That was $4300. If you spend that much on a vehicle you love, then you should also protect the floors with better mats ($700) and a simple screen protector ($30). I got lots of other non-essentials, but that was more my ego. I had to get it now, since my Jeep will no longer pass inspection without major $$$. She was 20 years old and has seen better days (lol). The only major negative so far is the dramatic increase in my insurance rate (from $65 to $230/month w/ USAA). But I absolutely LOVE driving this thing.
@@sav589 I'm in an apartment, so I'm plugging in to my outside porch lite and using the mobile charger. That'll add 20-25 miles each night. And no needed changes to my electric panel.
I just ordered a new performance model Y this morning and traded in my 2019 model 3 with the incentives I just couldn’t pass up a $55,000 car. I ended up paying $49,000 and on top of that getting the $7500 tax credit and loyalty credit. After getting $15k for my 2019 model 3 my bottom line cost was a little over $30k. I’m very happy with getting this brand new Tesla model Y performance. Thanks for video 👍
One thing people need to know before waiting for the refresh is the fact that if you live in the US Tesla might not qualify next year for the federal tax credit. $7500 is a lot of money just for a couple of interior updates. Not to mention all the discounts you can currently get on a 2024 model Y. Including the $7500 tax credit I got $14,000 in discounts for mine
@@jorgeenchilada they offered $4500 off an in stock model and I got $2000 for a trade-in (not really a discount I guess but the trade-in was a 2008 Honda accord in rough shape)
@eddya9641 $4500 is hard to look over. But not everyone is as lucky to find the same deal. I will still wait for Juniper anyway and decide if the 24MY price further goes down.
Great points but I did buy a Model Y -- back in early February. Multiple reasons drove the decision -- the used car market has been going downhill quite steadily, but I was still able to get a decent trade on my 2020 Model 3 to get a 2024 Model Y (both long range). Throw in a $4900 inventory discount + $7500 tax credit -- that's over $12K off the price! Then Elon threw in (until the end of March) FSD transfer. That was just icing on the cake.
The biggest thing for me along with everything you mentioned are the blindside cameras that come up when using blinkers. Those are game changers for me personally. My wife daily’s a jeep wrangler and it’s such a pain having to look over my shoulder when changing lanes. Not to mention I run 5% tint all around on both cars lol
The issue with this "cripple" technology is that there are still so many cars out there where you do have to look over your shoulder and for those who for whatever reason drive multiple cars, this is a challenge. Looking over the shoulder is a good practice that should not be abandoned. Motorcyclists will be thankful
I've had my model Y now for a month and I can't see myself buying anything else except maybe an X to replace it. This car is fantastic! I got white long range with white interior 19" rims. Out the door in inventory here in FL for $48. Very happy about that. Thank you for all your videos.
13:00 AMEN! Drove 1600 mile leg of a recent trip in 33 hours (including a few naps) straight through. Without autopilot, I might not have even taken the trip that those 33 hours were a part of, but with Autopilot (lane holding) and TACC (traffic aware cruise control) the trip wasn't just possible, it was safer and relatively easy, especially as I became better acquainted with the feature.
I got my TMY AWD a week ago. It replaces my 2009 rav4. I agree everything you say I recently purchased a tear drop trailer, and my rav4 was showing difficulties at higher speed and when going uphill I booked a test drive. 3 days after i was sursprised when the tesla guy left me alone with the car for 1h+ 2 weeks after here i am enjoying everything on this next age vehicule, no gazoline anymore, insane progressive torque (awesome for towing), safe, huge cargo space, comfy...
I got reeled in to making a purchase of a new Model Y today because they are currently offering FSD transfer until the end of the month. I bought a 2018 Model 3 Performance with FSD used from Tesla at an awesome price last year, and considering I can transfer the $12k software to the new one is one of the biggest decision-makers. Also, getting a Model Y Performance with white interior for 42700 after federal tax credit is amazing. Tesla did not actually try to low-ball me on the trade-in value of the Model 3P either. I actually was impressed that they beat Carvana's price and was very close to CarMax's trade-in value (which also used give low-ball offers). However, since I live in Kentucky, and the vehicle tax here is 6%, I had to take advantage of the fact that as long as you trade in and purchase from the same dealer, you only pay a prorated amount (less the previous vehicle's tax value).
my Model Y Long Range is now 13 months old...daily driver and have done 3 trips well over 1500 miles each. Flawless! Perfection has arrived with one pedal driving, Tesla charging network, and software updates that keep it fresh. Will be a little upset when ventilated seats arrive but good gracious this is the greatest vehicle have owned and this one is #78
I got my model Y performance 2 weeks ago. I put PPF in the front, hood, sides and mirrors and then I put ceramic coating all over the exterior, glass, interior and wheels
I’ve just taken delivery of the current Y for every reason that you’ve mentioned. Additionally, comparing this current model to all other EV’s, it’s still miles ahead of anything else, and does everything and more that I need it to do. I was lucky to get my original order for a standard range cancelled, so have the newer Long Range RWD. Love my car, it’s absolutely brilliant, really comfy and super to drive.
You will see your mistakes once you Buy & Use a Tesla and then you will realize like I did and am having : *Specifically when you pay 12K (previous price) to FSD. However, Tesla calls its "driving assistant" feature Autopilot or FSD but says it does not build self-driving vehicles and requires active supervision by the driver. (FSD software still has a lot of stupidity.) *And the car won't have internet if you don't pay more $9.99/month then all features will be disabled indefinitely:((Live Traffic Visualization, Satellite View Map, Live Camera Sentry mode & Internet browser & ...!! )) And it's also a lot of trouble every time you wait in line to charge your batter!
No, but you have to deal with a service center if you have issues. And they aren't any better, especially when your car is out of warranty, typically after 4 years. While battery technology is top, the car "around" it is, well...American. In other words, inferior like American cars are in general. Moreover i find the Tesla company having poor ethics in a host of issues i can't share on the internet. I pass...
I absolutely hate the back and forth process in the dealership. The typically trick like "let me talk to my manager..(10 minutes waiting)" just furstrate me. Ordering from Tesla website took me just 5 minutes with a price I know I am not ripped off. The prices you got from dealerships always make you wonder if something is wrong. As you saw so many different prices before you step into the dealership, but then found out that car is no longer available but a pricier one is. :)
I’ve been in the market for a new SUV for a bit now and just recently had my eye on the Y. Your video definitely is pushing me in that direction. I appreciate your straight forward informational approach. This will be my first Tesla and the only thing I’m now nervous about is that new model coming out a month after I buy it. I’ll have to do some research into any updates. Thanks!!
Waiting to get my newly leased Tesla Model Y LR. Chose Tesla because 1) can charge on all chargers 2) cheapest car that meets most of my criteria and 3) best "tech", most consistently updated. I leased because of all the uncertainties regarding new EVs or an upgraded MY.
great video. Thanks! The only update I would be really interested in is more range, it does look like Juniper model Y will have a significant battery range change. All the other updates and not a major selling point for me to wait. I bought a Y LG and love it!!!!
For me, # 1 is driving experience, that includes one pedal driving and autopilot, not many competitors are even coming close. #2 the interior #3 the charging experience, did love this in my previous non Tesla already, helped a lot cruising around in different European countries. #4 I gues the space and towing ability
The IPace and MachE GT-P both had 1 pedal and lane keep & advanced adaptive cruise control. They got me addicted to EVs and 1 Pedal, but my 2024 Y-Performance beats them both. Electrify America was adequate for all the long trips I took, but the Tesla Supercharges are simpler, faster, better. For all three cars I charge daily at work for my commute. I installed a 48A 3phase home charger at my office since I live in a condo where I can't.
I was too. Prices will increase, stockless, etc. It was worthwhile purchasing 2024 model Y Long Range for me at $39k. No way we’ll see a price like that moving forward. I’m also just going to sell my car if I want to upgrade it and probably sell it for the same price if not more than I paid for it. Best of luck!
yes the extreme insurance cost on any Tesla, negates the fuel savings of an ICE. If they can get insurance cost down to a normal car level, that would be great. And Tesla doesn't allow you to see their own insurance price, unless you add a vehicle to the app and buy one.
Just leased a new one last week and it was quite affordable. In fact I was able to get the LR version with white interior in blue for about the same lease price as the RWD M3. Overall, just a bit more per month than my 2022 Tucson I leased.
This was really good. The 0.99% apr discount brought me here. I'm testing today. I think I'm buying. I don't think I'll wait for Juniper. This vid def helped
I'm on the same boat.. test drive totally sealed it for me living in the city though without my own charger at night is a huge concern that I'm struggling to overcome
I have a 22 RAV4 XSE hybrid and I love it! But I recently test drove a MY Performance and the price cut + 1.9% is sounding appealing so I might trade it in but still doing research on the MY 😅
im considering getting one this month because musk is only charging 0.99% financing for up to 72 months. its essentially free money. the FSD is only 8k too. in new hampshire, you can't lease due to the stealership laws
Major problem with Tesla is it doesn’t have good network of service centres to match the excellences of manufacturing. I took my 2023 Model Y long range for wheel balancing in Fort Worth TX service centre. It was vibrating at high speeds 60+ mph. The car returned back with more vibrations at all speeds. They charged me for two wheels but gave me one warped wheel and replaced my suspension with the old set. So they stole away my luxury of driving a new Tesla. I went to Plano Tesla , they replace the warped wheel with a new one without any charge but didn’t do anything for the suspension. Be very careful going to any Tesla service centre, you may come back with surprises.
Definitely waiting, and I test drove all except cybertruk; which I haven’t seen. I’m holding on to my 2014 GLI, so NO trade. Excited about the REFRESH🙌🏽
Great video. After stumbling across your video, I think I am going to buy a Tesla, perhaps an X or maybe Y. 1) can I get the tax credits if I buy a used Tesla? (Dealer or Private?) 2) I like a little more luxury feel of wood trim, etc. I think I saw a 2020 Model X that had the screen beautifully integrated into the dash (versus sticking out on a mount). What years had that option for the wood trim? 3) Regarding a pre-owned Tesla X or Y, I want a vehicle that will have full capability of upgrade and updates for Full Self Drive. Is there a model year or newer that I should stick with, to take full advantage of firmware updates, due to the hardware limitations of earlier years?
I'm considering not waiting for the new model y, the reason: I live in Europe (Denmark) where roundabouts are pretty common and the whole "press a touch button on the steering wheel to turn on your blinkers/indicators" is quite stupid when your also turning your stearing wheel at the same time.
@@anna-sj9cpI have taken three road trips in a Hertz rental Model 3 and the Model Y is certainly more comfortable in the entry and exit process, I felt like I had to "fall" into the Model 3 and climb back out of it at my destination, not good. My neighbor has a 2022 Model Y which I have driven and the seat is more at my height level (6'0) and it is easier to get in and out of. I have already purchased my Exped MegaMat Model Y sleeping pad for the back and plan on sleeping in it on road trips where it may come in handy. The CT was originally supposed to have environmentals in the back but that plan was scraped sadly. I also have the tent that attaches to the rear of the car for changing space and breathing room if I ever need it. Also in the toy bag is the ICECO refrigerator/freezer which was a sweet treat on the aforementioned road trips. I have my sights set on the Model Y "Juniper" upgrade with ALL the bells and whistles and it looks like it may be in production the 1st Quarter of 2025. I did not know I could go ahead and put in a preorder for it so I will check into that promptly, thanks for the heads up.
@@anna-sj9cp My neighbor has a 2023 Model Y and I like the size of the vehicle and height of the seat. I have rented Model 3s on several occasions for road trips and crawling in and out of the low to the ground Model 3 is not for me. The Model Y is just right and all the spacious room in the back is a big win.
Buying a first generation of a new model is never a good idea. If anything it's always best to wait a year or two before making a move. Getting the model Y in 2024 is the best thing to do.
I thin 6:25 k EVs have a place but they are not for everyone. Most people I know live in apartments not houses and this trend is growing as the cost of living keeps getting higher and higher. Garages at apartment buildings don’t have individual charging ports at each stall so you have to go to a charging station every time you need to fill up. Very inconvenient to have an EV and charge it in this way. If you have a house it is a great way to keep and manage an suv. I personally wouldn’t get one until I get a house.
11:30 oh yes, that instant torque pulled me away from what otherwise may have been a rear-ending back in mid-February. I normally keep Perl, my Model Y LR (AWD) in CHILL mode (which limits torque, somewhat) in an effort to make my tires (and presumably other parts of the drivetrain) last longer. Fortunately I was in Standard mode on when the minor accident almost happened. While I was attempting to change lanes after discovering belatedly (I was on a long trip, and didn't know the area) that I was in the wrong lane, I spied a pickup closing quickly in the rearview mirror, .... don't you just hate out-of-towners that don't know that the leftmost lane at a particular intersection is a U-Turn ONLY? Well, one of them may have been me. I apologize. Anyway, at my foot's urging, Perl pulled instantly away from the potential impact and I was able to move back into a lane from which I could execute the desired left turn. Henceforward, I think I'll stay in CHILL mode when driving in familiar territory, but switch to Standard when navigating strange streets.
I need a car and the 2024 Y @ 1.99 sounds like an appealing deal. I dont think I can get the same APR for a newer Y. I'm torn between waiting and buying now
When do you anticipate the prices dropping when the new version comes out? I know it s a guess but do you know how fat in advance the accoutrement was made. Trying to determine if I should wait for the next version.
I bought my Model Y with 1.99 APR and $7,500 federal tax credit rebate. Tesla is not just electro car, it is smart car, Tesla driving you! With special promo of Tesla for model Y it is the besy yime to buy it!
Great Videos as always! I bought mine more than a year ago. I am still waiting for smart summon, self Park features to be delivered. Every time I ask the dealership- they say “ it should come with the next software update“ . What are your thoughts on that?
My M3 with FSD Has Self parking is a joke. It's painful slow and that really pisses of other drivers. Most of the time I do it myself but when it works about 25% of the time it's excellent. Oh one other thing mine clipped the driver side mirror in a car park. Expensive
My 2007 Corolla costs almost nothing to maintain and is fully paid off so... I'm more than happy to wait for Juniper to drop. Pretty much an instant buy when it does drop assuming they don't blow out the price. Gonna be a looooong year... And that'll be an instant 4month backlog when Juniper does finally land.
A newbie here... driving a normal aspirated car, thinking about an EV. Let me just fill in a few differences to start the ball rolling. As you say Tesla are being very aggressive with their pricing... which means its certainly less to buy one than before: Standard new Y about $38,000 However hold on I don't live in the U.S...... I live in Thailand ( Bangkok) .... so we have a few differences. Price of gasoline is...$1 pl, our gas stations are all serviced meaning you don't get out of your car to fill up... means you don't get out in to the heat of the sun. Our Supercharge network is much less limited. We don't get reduced overnight rates on electricity. We don't get a EV rebate on purchase. Our insurance is higher (given our roads are chaos and our average driver is of a lower quality standard ) that not being harsh, we have the highest rate of accidents in the world. Next our climate is hot average 33C.... I like the full glass sunroof, but oh boy do we need that tinted glass... our normal car has 60% tinted glass and you can still feel the heat. An automatic sun shade would be a big essential. Rain.... we have a 4-5 month rain season and it can be biblical... so the window wipers have to be ultra high performance and adjustable speeds really fast Lights.. our current car has auto lights as per when it gets dark the lights com on automatically .... ( tunnels, shade and entering underground car parks)... I don't want to keep going to a screen to change the settings. Getting charger at home is offered free... however the wall mounted ones are still a better choice and are not free. Our daily milage (km) is very low so less than $150 our month anyway.... Lets say i'm maybe not a range worrying freak..... other than 10 times a year would I need to think about a long road trip.... 300 Miles or more There are a few Tesla's here and certainly getting more popular. Don't need the full autopilot, the standard one is very ample.... lets say as above other road users are not lane disciplined so under taking and drivers who drive like Grand Theft Auto is very common. Agree that many of the accessories your recommend are essential for enhancing the experience. The driving as reported on an EV is slightly different to a normal car..... any change of car it takes a little time for you and car to feel as one anyway. Off road... not the full Land Rover experience... but dirt tracks , non tarmac roads, sand roads and lets be honest..... soggy wet grass roads..... Now a big issue in rain season... we get frequent street flooding of at leat 12 inches or more.... does that mean I can't use the car to wade slowly though flooding points ? In 8 years our milage is under 70,000 miles Its tempting to switch..... very tempting.... I'm a more mature driver, so today its comfort not speed, but with the ability of a quick acceleration if and when you need it is an excellent idea. Will I switch?...... Yes, but maybe not today..... still a few to many unsure aspects... advise very welcome
I doubt the new Model Y will come out with the same price point as it is currently... A MYLR with some wheels was 70k in December of last year. It's almost half that right now. Refreshed model is going to cost a good amount more...
Hi Jremiah, were can I see the study that concluded Model Y was the best selling car? If it is coming from a reputable peer-reviewed source then it will be a great achievement for Tesla
You were right about not test drive a tesla if you not prepared to buy a tesla. I always thought EV are soulless without the roaring of the engine. Until my kids said they want to sit in a tesla so I took them for a test drive. I ended up ordering the model x after we got back to the dealership. The acceleration and torque is something you can only feel if you spent money on a fossil fuel supercar. I test drove the Model X LR and its probably faster than 95% of the cars on the road for that price it was no brainer. lol So far I'm loving it, I just wished in the hot weather climate I live in the efficiency could be better, but then again that is the problem with every EV so... until someone figures out a new battery tech I guess we are stuck with that for now.
I just test drove a Tesla for the first time today. Model 3 and model Y performance. I was very impressed and kicking myself for not having looked at them earlier when they were giving discounts. We want to get the Model Y as it seems the best deal and is more spacious than the model 3. The salesperson told me that they sometimes have end of quarter deals. She did say I could wait until next year to see if they do a model Y upgrade but I’m most concerned about price. Do you think the best sales will be in December again? How confident are you that they will go on sale again? The salesperson did say if you wait Tesla may just raise the price on the new model Y. Thanks.
Another thing to consider is if you do buy the 2024 you will get the best version of this current Generation Y with all the bugs and issues worked out. From past experience I’ve learned never to buy a model refresh during its 1st year, better to wait 2nd even 3rd year when major issues are rectified.
Thank you for your most excellent video Jeremiah. You mentioned an acceleration boost for the MYLR. How does one get that? My problem with the MY Performance is the large wheels. I would like the MY Performance with 19 inch wheels but that is not an option either. How would you proceed? Thank you.
How could you get one at that price?😮 How much is inventory discount? Is it a demo vehicle? I'm looking to purchase a new Model Y but it seems y'all got a better discount last month.
@@tuan.hoang_ It wasn't a demo vehicle. The inventory discount I got was $5000 off, plus I got the $7500 federal rebate. Rumor has it that the $5000 inventory discount will be coming back at the end of the month. But nothing is set in stone.
@@master03351 damn $5000 that's crazy. What color is your MY? I've already put down $250 to order a MYLR with white interior, ultra red exterior, but only got $2500 off for the inventory discount...not as much as yours. Should I wait a bit later?
@@tuan.hoang_ Mine was the standard gray color. It might be worth waiting, but the rumor could be wrong. Just going off of what people on Reddit have been saying.
@@master03351 I don't like that gray color, looks so ugly, but maybe I could save $2000 and do a wrap instead? Like some cool color changing wrap. Yeah on Tesla website they literally say price will increase by $1000 starting April 1st. Probably when the refresh come out they'll slash the price even more 🤔
Nobody ever mentions that teslas are probably the ONLY car outside of the i7 where you can watch streaming apps in your car without having to jailbreak or install anything that’s a game changer to me
Bruv, I've had Golf Mk2, Mk3, Opel Vectra, Audi 100 (1993 model), and a bunch of other POS cars. Then I got into what You guys over in America call Nissan Rogue Sport, had that for 3 years and some 100.000 km, and after a year with the small Hyundai Ioniq 28kWh battery, the company I work at gave me a BMW iX3, which is basically an X3 but they've pulled out the engine, slapped an 80kW battery into the floor and made it electric. No pre-heating of the battery, no heated steering wheel, no lumbar support, no frunk, nowhere near promised 150kW fast charging as soon as the temperature hits 10 degrees Celsius - it basically keeps charging at 22kW first 20 minutes, then ramps up to 45kW, at best it hits 75kW and that's about it - which basically means 1 hour at a fast charger for the classic 10-80% charge, which then provides 250km at best. I pay a tax for having the vehicle and thank God I didn't buy this car on my own, cause I swear to God, I'd grab a sledge hammer and go to town on it on multiple occasions. That being said, since it's a 3 year lease, I'm stuck with this abomination until March next year... Which kinda coincides with the release of Juniper. You've convinced me so far to go for that one as my next company car, I'm just afraid of Tesla's stiffness when it comes to suspension, I got a somewhat sensitive 3yo kid, so my hopes are that it's gonna be softer than the Model Y I rode in a couple of years ago. Thanks for making good content, cheers.
I'm a long time model S owner and am currently driving a model Y loaner and one thing I would add to the "don't buy" list is the rearview mirror. The tinting is so dark on the back windows that it looks like night driving during the day. Not a huge deal but it's annoying.
Autopilot can be a deterrent. It scared me and my passengers to death a few times. It pulls you towards the exiting or merging lane. It brakes abruptly after a car has completely and safely crossed in front of you. Use it wisely and when your wife and kids are not in the car 😂
lol 6 months not even close immeidatly after my demo drive i got in my car (AT) and needed to remember to use brakes.. i really did enjoy the Y. its on my list just ironing out some factors first
I think I would have liked to have waited, but my bmw lease is up this month and I needed to get into a new car now, and not really knowing when the refresh is coming, makes it even harder to wait, my office ended work from home and so I have a very long commute, I did not want to be paying those gas prices, and I knew I wanted to get a Tesla Model Y, I knew there was a refresh coming, but I think I’ll be OK for a couple years, lol
Tesla charges a flat rate of $1390 destination fee and a $250 order fee. The $7500 federal tax credit is applied after the sales tax of the original price. Tesla also factor in a "3-year gas saving" cost of $3600, which is misleading and made it appear as if there is an additional $3600 off the total. So I don't know where do people buy a brand new Model Y for $35000. What am I missing??
Shop the existing inventory (aka Shop Available). Look at the "Vehicle Price" not the "Price after probable savings." If you qualify, look at the "$XXX after tax credit" which is the Vehicle Price - $7,500 tax credit.

how can I get a good deal on a new tesla Y? some people getting amazing deals
I just bought a Model Y LR RWD. It is great. Love it. pin me if you want referral.
I am definitely getting a model Y !! yea for me
I got my model y, 2 weeks ago and love it. I actually got a bunch of accessories from your page.
I picked up my new MY yesterday. Needed a car now and after test driving one last fall, the MY was the only car I wanted. Fantastic car! Even after the Juniper update my 2024 is light years ahead of other ICE vehicles and IMO, the best EV out there.
We picked up ours last week, just love it!
Good point don’t mention Tesla
@@GurwinderRandhawa-os1ik Not all garages have 220v. I have detached garage with only 110v.
Sometimes the feed coming into your house is too small. Always check with utilities first.
Do you have a home charger? I got quoted yesterday $15,000 to upgrade my electrical panel for either a mobile or wall charger smh 🤦🏽♂️ I canttttttttt
@sav589 u don't have a dryer with a 30 amp receptacle? If u don't drive a ton u could use a 15 amp, or change it to a 20 amp
@@sav589 I'm in an apartment, so I'm plugging in to my outside porch lite and using the mobile charger. That'll add 20-25 miles each night. And no needed changes to my electric panel.
My insurance went up an extra $80 bucks but I have it bundled with renters and life insurance so that's probably my only saving grace.
@@sav589😂👍
Including the $7500 tax credit I got $14,000 in discounts for mine
what was the other discount? that's crazy
I will still wait for Juniper anyway and decide if the 24MY price further goes down.
wow what state?
5% on the windshield is crazy 🤪 I run 35%
The issue with this "cripple" technology is that there are still so many cars out there where you do have to look over your shoulder and for those who for whatever reason drive multiple cars, this is a challenge. Looking over the shoulder is a good practice that should not be abandoned. Motorcyclists will be thankful
Got my 2024 Y LR several weeks ago 41K OTD Free supercharging transfer from my S. Performance boost included ... im good!
I got 4 months left on my lease, you are right,I made the mistake of test driving the model Y and 3 and it’s true,I’m sold!
I got my TMY AWD a week ago. It replaces my 2009 rav4.
I agree everything you say
I recently purchased a tear drop trailer, and my rav4 was showing difficulties at higher speed and when going uphill
I booked a test drive. 3 days after i was sursprised when the tesla guy left me alone with the car for 1h+
2 weeks after here i am enjoying everything on this next age vehicule, no gazoline anymore, insane progressive torque (awesome for towing), safe, huge cargo space, comfy...
Just bought a 2018 model 3 with 38k miles…I love it!
I'm tempted to get the current Y because it's now available for about £350 a month in the UK, which seems amazing.
Totally agree. Test drove a model y and after 15 mins went back and purchased it.
You will see your mistakes once you Buy & Use a Tesla and then you will realize like I did and am having :
*Specifically when you pay 12K (previous price) to FSD. However, Tesla calls its "driving assistant" feature Autopilot or FSD but says it does not build self-driving vehicles and requires active supervision by the driver. (FSD software still has a lot of stupidity.)
*And the car won't have internet if you don't pay more $9.99/month then all features will be disabled indefinitely:((Live Traffic Visualization, Satellite View Map, Live Camera Sentry mode & Internet browser & ...!! ))
And it's also a lot of trouble every time you wait in line to charge your batter!
Just test drove one, just one word. Wow, as a petro head, the fsd was game-changing it was painful giving it back to the dealership 😅
Waiting for the refresh and I’m just gonna keep saving my money until they announce it and I can order
Test drove the new M3 today and was tempted to greet the MY. I think the Juniper is going to be worth the wait!
dont have to deal with...dealers
@MrMath2001 most, if not all, companies are unethical. ESPECIALLY auto makers.
@@kevinchen1588 yup. I hate dealerships so much. especially when they gate things like colors behind different trims
@kickassgreek Tesla is notorious but in the greater sense...I get your point
Great video! Looking forward to the refresh in September (maybe in Europe…)!!
great video. Thanks! The only update I would be really interested in is more range, it does look like Juniper model Y will have a significant battery range change. All the other updates and not a major selling point for me to wait. I bought a Y LG and love it!!!!
For me,
# 1 is driving experience, that includes one pedal driving and autopilot,
not many competitors are even coming close.
#2 the interior
#3 the charging experience, did love this in my previous non Tesla already, helped a lot cruising around in different European countries.
#4 I gues the space and towing ability
To me the continuous upgrades over the air software upgrade and advanced remote tech 5.5 years ago (2018 M3 LR) was a game changer.
Bought a used 2021 model Y performance for 37k midnight silver with full FSD it’s nice
I was told that if you buy USED Tesla, it doesnt come with FSD. You'd have to purchase it separately.
@@renasok9659 I bought the my MYP on the tesla website, you can search cars WITH FSD with it
I went for a lease, 2k down, 370 a month. Ill reevaluate the refresh in 3 years. Was too good to pass up.
It's shame leasing isn't available in more states.
Already in waiting mode. Both the revised bodywork and new features make it worth the wait.
I’m waiting for the new Y. Spot on discussion points. Thank you
@@br_ok_inwhere did you purchase for this price?
you'll be waiting until some time in 2025.
yes save $1500 a year on gas, but pay $200 a year for registration penalty and the extra $2500 in insurance costs. No problems.
yes the extreme insurance cost on any Tesla, negates the fuel savings of an ICE. If they can get insurance cost down to a normal car level, that would be great. And Tesla doesn't allow you to see their own insurance price, unless you add a vehicle to the app and buy one.
These numbers don’t add up. I spent about 3k a year on gas and my Tesla insurance only increased by 700 a year..
Where the hell do you live that you only pay 125 a month on gas
from a tacoma to a model Y, my insurance increased by $4 a month..
Wait till u find out ppl pay more than double 1.5k for gas in a year🤯
Just leased a new one last week and it was quite affordable.
I'm on the same boat.. test drive totally sealed it for me
living in the city though without my own charger at night is a huge concern that I'm struggling to overcome
I have a 22 RAV4 XSE hybrid and I love it! But I recently test drove a MY Performance and the price cut + 1.9% is sounding appealing so I might trade it in but still doing research on the MY 😅
Another bonus of the Model Y is the killer factory sound system. It is one of the best I've ever heard.
Absolutely 100% TRUE! Best car ever! I can’t and don’t want to ever drive another regular car!
simplicity is hard to achieved, loving my Model Y
im considering getting one this month because musk is only charging 0.99% financing for up to 72 months. its essentially free money. the FSD is only 8k too. in new hampshire, you can't lease due to the stealership laws
Thanks for the review! Picking up my MYP this weekend
Great video. After stumbling across your video, I think I am going to buy a Tesla, perhaps an X or maybe Y.
1) can I get the tax credits if I buy a used Tesla? (Dealer or Private?)
2) I like a little more luxury feel of wood trim, etc.
It's a good thought
Are you a shareholder with Tesla
THANK YOU . I drove model 3 and i love it . BUT THE Y look better for my fam
I have my performance, Tesla why and I love it. I have a full year and is the most cool car I have in my life. I love it.
Canceled my Cybertruck Reservation and going to wait for the Juniper. I am patient.
Great , have you preorder or testdriven it
@@anna-sj9cpI have taken three road trips in a Hertz rental Model 3 and the Model Y is certainly more comfortable in the entry and exit process, I felt like I had to "fall" into the Model 3 and climb back out of it at my destination, not good.
I had to Google which car Juniper was and I'm surprised they gave the model Y a codename, but the public knows about it regardless. Hahaha
question: how do you charge a Tesla from the supercharger, if you have a trailer behind you?
Buying a first generation of a new model is never a good idea. If anything it's always best to wait a year or two before making a move. Getting the model Y in 2024 is the best thing to do.
Absolutely. They is a hard lesson learned. If your buying and not leasing then the 2024 is the best as all the potential bugs have been worked out.
Thank you Jeremiah, great review
I really want to buy a model Y right now but I’m afraid there could be a refresh for the car on the next year or maybe even a new model
Best Model Y review Ive seen yet. Keep yup the good work!
Buying my model Y was the best car shopping and buying experience I’ve ever had. No 🧢. The more I drive it the more I love it.
Thank you for all your videos. Just ordered an Inventory Model Y using your referral link and pick it up Saturday ! Look forward to more videos soon
I'm torn between waiting and buying now
Did you end up buying? 😮
When do you anticipate the prices dropping when the new version comes out? I know it s a guess but do you know how fat in advance the accoutrement was made. Trying to determine if I should wait for the next version.
I bought a 23 performance for 40k I'm super happy and I haven't done my taxes yet
Got a Model Y in January and saving $500 a month in gas bills in California- this is the most technology advanced car on the planet
I got my Honda prologue at MSRP plus 7500 tax credit plus a few more incentives off the total purchase price of the car
A newbie here... driving a normal aspirated car, thinking about an EV. Let me just fill in a few differences to start the ball rolling. As you say Tesla are being very aggressive with their pricing... which means its certainly less to buy one than before: Standard new Y about $38,000
However hold on I don't live in the U.S......
Rain.... we have a 4-5 month rain season and it can be biblical... so the window wipers have to be ultra high performance and adjustable speeds really fast
Lights.. our current car has auto lights as per when it gets dark the lights com on automatically ....
300 Miles or more
There are a few Tesla's here and certainly getting more popular.
In 8 years our milage is under 70,000 miles
Its tempting to switch..... very tempting....
I'm wondering the new model will still qualify for the tax credit.
Hi Jremiah, were can I see the study that concluded Model Y was the best selling car? If it is coming from a reputable peer-reviewed source then it will be a great achievement for Tesla
just ordered a model y long range today
With the new APR rate … should I still wait ?
But how much does it cost to get the charging hookup to your house?
How does it do in the self driving mode?
I like you vids, they tech me a lot and have help me decide if I want a Tesla or not... thanks to you I am getting me Y-performance...
The boost is so great
I just test drove a Tesla for the first time today.
@@michaelriera6277 thanks for the info. Makes sense.
Thank you for your most excellent video Jeremiah. You mentioned an acceleration boost for the MYLR. How does one get that? My problem with the MY Performance is the large wheels. I would like the MY Performance with 19 inch wheels but that is not an option either. How would you proceed? Thank you.
we are about to leave to pick up our new y. We decided not to wait for the refresh and the deal was amazxing
You have a link for the cybertruck in background of your set up?
Picked up a new MYLR for $36K last month. Incredible value. The inventory + federal rebate made it a no brainer.
Probably when the refresh come out they'll slash the price even more 🤔
Really nice video. Taking delivery of our second MY this Friday. I can’t wait 😊
Lucky you! I ordered my MY just today. I get delivery March 30. It is going to be a long two weeks.
Do you know about the New Tesla innovation shares?
Completely antiquated compared to a M3 at this point. My highland will be here end of the month 🎉
Autopilot can be a deterrent. It scared me and my passengers to death a few times. It pulls you towards the exiting or merging lane. It brakes abruptly after a car has completely and safely crossed in front of you. Use it wisely and when your wife and kids are not in the car 😂
lol 6 months not even close immeidatly after my demo drive i got in my car (AT) and needed to remember to use brakes.. i really did enjoy the Y. its on my list just ironing out some factors first
I think I would have liked to have waited, but my bmw lease is up this month and I needed to get into a new car now, and not really knowing when the refresh is coming, makes it even harder to wait, my office ended work from home and so I have a very long commute, I did not want to be paying those gas prices, and I knew I wanted to get a Tesla Model Y, I knew there was a refresh coming, but I think I’ll be OK for a couple years, lol
will the price be the same after the refresh?
yes
Is it worth waiting for the model y refresh or buy the 2024 model
I'm waiting, but these deals are crazy now
Tesla charges a flat rate of $1390 destination fee and a $250 order fee.
Yep Rivian has it too
How much will the new model y be compared to current?
Still has turn signal stalks! But no speed/range monitor in front of you - good spot for an app on a phone.
