Great content Toro! All of the street racing I've done in my Chally 392 has been using the HP70 by rolling into the tip in on street radials to dead hook better. I have won races this way for years, but I definitely need to work on my ratchet and paddle shifting skills. Thanks for the info.
I’ve got a stock Challenger Scat Pack 392 8 spd automatic. I go to “custom” settings on the screen and put the transmission in “sport” setting, then go back to the regular “drive” mode. When a potential roll race is about to happen, I double tap the “drive modes” button where the heat/ac buttons are. When I do the double tap on that button, it automatically sends me to my preset “custom” mode. Then I hold the left paddle shifter down for 2 seconds. That sends me to the lowest available gear to match road speed. Then I floor it, and it up shifts automatically for the duration of the race. Note: All the above mentioned is with the floor shifter in drive, NOT manual. Note: since my “custom” mode is set to sport for the transmission it automatically disengages the traction control. I have not tried this method with the “custom” mode set to track for the transmission, as I do not know if it will up shift automatically that way. Side note; it is hard for me to find someone to race me because I’m 59 years old, and have gray hair. Lol!
Thats a whole lot of shit to do to lose a roll. Lol I'll give you 3 honks, drop to third and drag you down the freeway before you can double tap yours trans, check your fluid levels and make sure your blinkers work
You said a mouth full you have to be in the power band when racing .if tou notice everyone always wants to race a hellcat or 392 in a 40 or 50 roll because they no they have an advantage 1 weight to a big block motor takes longer to wind up not like a small displacement motor .like a mustang or these small turbo engines like you said key is being in the right gear and throttle control
Ok, so, let me ask you this. My car is completely stock scat pack. What rpm do I want be at , at any mph roll race when it begins? That will automatically tell me what gear to be in. T/Y
My 900kg Mitsubishi GSR Cordia Turbo Modified with evolution lancer 4g63t has Mitsubishi's manual super shift gearbox with 8 forward gears and can split the gears and always in boost no matter the speed .
@@Toro704 You can split the gears in half and pick the ratio in-between. Not that it really needs it , 2100lb with 330bhp , mates cammed 6 litre ls3 ute can't stay with me on a roll.
@Toro704 I'm in my car right now bro kid you not trying this but I'm getting nervous to commit because it goes up to like 5 damn near 6 rpm but not shifting so ill let off of it lmao I'm sp nervous to redline her
Just found your channel after picking up a 16 challenger scat and since I’m in the 828 I subbed immediately!! Sorry to sound dumb but I’m used to manual cars and don’t really understand what you’re saying. So I have the shifter in the drive position and NOT over on the “ M” position. I then shift down to the correct pulling gear using the left paddle shifter, and floor it?? Will it go back into drive mode automatically or will I have to shift up to the next gear using the right paddle shifter so I don’t redline the motor? Appreciate any help bro. Loving the content so far and am looking forward to getting my scat looking and running a little more like yours !!🔥

Is he just explaining it wrong or am I tripping. So is he saying to downshift it just to get to that gear that he wants, and right before the launch he switches back to auto mode to allow it to upshift itself??? If thats what he is saying, then yes he didn't explain that very well. He never actually verbally said to switch back to auto. Remember this type of shit needs to be very detailed and specific, so nobody tears their shit up! Especially since paddling in a race or launch can be very hard!
No, the car should automatically shift for you if you downshift with the paddle! If you try and put your car in manual with the shift knob you will have to shift on your own

So if you’re stock I’d say hood the Pattie’s shifter until it puts you in the lowest gear it can based on your MPH
So you drop it into second manually and after that’s the gears shift by then selfs ? Or are you shifting ?
