Surely the stock electronic unit would work better as it’s plugged in to Ecu & Imu? Never had a tank slapped on mine with stock one
I've never understood why they replace the steering dampers on these builds...not worth the money
Never had an issue with mine on my r1. Nice and light steering down low and nice and stiff up top. Maybe you could put a extension on the manual one for high speeds!:)
I was thinking the same. Seems like a downgrade.
What type of riding do you do? This is more of an upgrade for the racetrack. Stock damper is electronically adjusted for speed only by ECU
@@2m173 Just aggressive street riding 2m
Crazy to have a bike 25lbs under 400lbs wet. The HP4 race is just insane.
Those track fairings look awesome on that CBR. I would love to see back to basics CBR track build.
Zach makes tearing apart the bike soo easy lol #loving the build series
I've been watching your videos since 2015 when you got H2...Love you mahn...
650 is the type of guy to weigh an engine oil
Zack is the MAN ! I would trust him to work on my stuff. (And I never do that)
The stock dampener is Ohlins, not sure why you took an electronic one and replaced it with a manual. There so much more you can do with the electronic one.
Ever thought doing a Q&A with zach during the build
The squeaky chair gets the grease!
Anyone know if I Can I relocate my 05 gixxer 1000 (K4) steering damper? From the front mount to handlebar mount? I'm streetfightering my bike
Won't miss a thing 😎
Hey @650ib another great video, would be interested to see what your HP4 weighs on that scale!
Thanks man! I will weigh it soon.
Great channel...one quick question I have just installed ohlins damper & there seems to be a lot of play between the ball joint and the frame I have replaced the rubber washer which helped but still seems excessive if I use 2 rubber washers it feels a lot better...is it ok to do this? Thanks
Not sure why electrically adjustable damper replaced with manual damper 🤷🏻♂️
Agreed. Seems like a backwards step to me.
It's better very simple
What's wrong with the one it already has smh lol
Awesome videos 👌🔥
Thanks Matt!
On the into when you were showing the cbr I was wondering where the yosh can come from thinking it was the r1
Got cha!
With all the plastics on, the steering damper cant be adjusted...."set it and forget it!" 😂😂😂
enjoyed the video!
i like wea they put that but wen it has everything bak on it isn't it gonna be hard to get at if u wanna change the settings on it ??? can sum1 school me on that please
Definately wanna do some weight savings on the cbr I just bought. I plan on taking it to black hawk raceway for some track days. Although mine isnt new. It's the 2006 model. I wonder how well the stock stabilizer on mine is?
If it's your first track day, no matter how much road riding you have done the bike won't limit you. No matter what modern bike you are riding. :)
@@SINIS0RSA I understand that lol. But I know if I plan on advancing I definitely want to do some suspension and some weight savings in the future. I figured that would be the best to do instead of HP gains.
@@doubledragon11988 You can easily drop some kilos with an after market slip-on. I bought Italian made GPR deeptone Slip-on that weights absolutely nothing. :)
Niklas I was thinking of the yoshi rs5 full system. Don’t know how much that weighs tho. The bike right now is completely stock except for some frame sliders. For the most part right now I just want to start off doing a basic cosmetic change on the bike, such as fender eliminator, etc, etc, maybe a tune and playing around with the idea of a quick shift and power commander v. Who knows.....only time will tell.
I do have to change the bike back to stock tho, po lowered the bike. I’m 5’9 so no need for that.
The hp4 race is 377lbs 100% put together. My r1s is 394lbs full of gas in street trim! 😎
Screwdriver or spanner across the battery terminals🤯🤯🤯🤣🤣
30lbs lighter than a 600... that’s good. There is 0 reason to replace an electronic damper with an ohlins. The electronic one is speed sensitive so it is easy to turn at low speeds then stiffens up the faster you go so a win win. With a set damper it doesn’t. On the Ducati’s they have electronic olhins, so that’s ok... anyway. Just silly, and a waste of time and money. And it’s not a suspension component, but a component of suspension is damping😂..And they’re for when the wheel comes down sideways from a wheelie and creates a tank slapper, steering stabilizers eliminate this... on a dirt bike they’re more for keeping the wheel straight when plowing through various rocks and roots. Keeps the bike much more stable, street bikes don’t need them till shit hits the fan. And most dirt bikers don’t have them, but some enduro racers do.. bla bla. My 1299s weighs 387 with the gas light on👍. With a full akra and lithium battery...so about the same with a full tank as the 600. I wish they made a 1400cc v4. Damn that would be worth upgrading for. A 230whp monster that around 430lbs. Please Ducati! Get the torque back!
How many metrics is that?
What I want to see all day..
Do a cbr600rr trackbike build, i own one to wich is made by Ten Kate. They make the fastest hondas for wsbk!
Great idea. 600s get too little love these days. I own one too. I have done some Carbon Fiber parts to it myself. :)
Boring
music cuts a bit to loud ib
Apologies Chuck.....please don't kick me in the 🥜🥜
OSammmmmm
Can someone please chime in and explain why this manual steering damper would be better than the stock electronically controlled one? Seems like a downgrade.
It is most certainly an upgrade; most noticeable change at the racetrack. Not everyone would benefit from this change. The stock damper is electronically controlled and adjusted by the ECU according to speed; not necessarily by what is happening with bike. Zack did an excellent job explaining the differences and benefits in the video
@@2m173 Thanks! I thought that the ECU might have modes including race which would adjust for that scenario but I see your point.
i think is a down grade but this ohlins is top ...
i wish you would get a fireblade or 600rr

I love 650ib Channel especialy the energy he puts in to every video but i have to say i am getting really bored of this build series thing its boring seeing 15 mim every video on how they instale something new i rather see old content which was way better like smackdowns crusing with the fast boys, racing with dani brasco that was way more exciting to bad 😔
Hey Manuel... I greatly appreciate your feedback. My channel has evolved from its inception nearly 10yrs ago. Unfortunately, I can't engage in high speed SMACKDOWNS on the 💩 streets all of the time. I have other interests such as track riding, dyno shoot outs, motorcycle shows and press launches, new bike build series and 650ib Meet Ups. You'll NEVER 👀 Donny on my channel again and the Cleveland Fast Boyz are usually very busy doing their own thing to engage with me. I hope you'll stick around to enjoy the enhanced and refocused content coming soon to the channel. If you're looking for raw SMACKDOWN content, checkout the 'OutspokenTiger' UA-cam channel. Many Thanks 💪❤️
