Just picked up my 2023 s1000rr same as yours M package. My buddy sent me your channel and its the go to for new s1000rr information. Keep it up because your building a solid foundation 👌 for your channel
Thank you bro! Definitely going to keep it going!
PSA:
DO NOT, I repeat, do not put your bike in 1st gear to spin your wheel. This is extremely dangerous and there are plenty of people missing fingers. Let’s not make anymore examples.
Spin the wheel by hand or roll your bike back and forth if you don’t have a rear stand.
I understand your concern. That’s why I included the warning 👍🏽 been doing this 10+ years on multiple bikes with no issues. Just have to pay attention to what you’re doing.
@@N31LE There is no problem to run the wheel with the engine IF YOU do not come with your hand close to the chain obviously. One friend of mine lost the tip of his finger doing this while cleaning the chain with a rag
Yeah, it's not worth the risk if somebody's not paying attention! May take a couple of mins more but if it saves 1 bad injury in a thousand it's worth it.
Your getting popular! 😊 continue making content regularly if you can. All your video are very well done and informative
Thank you! Will do!
Keep it up man...I love your channel. Just a few more weeks and I'll be in the cool kids club.
Heck yeah can’t wait to welcome you!
@@N31LE Just got it this weekend man. All I can think about is riding it when I'm not LOL. Need to get this 600 miles out the way though luckily no one has tried to pull up next to me yet but I'm not even sure if I can even beat a ninja 400 right now LOL.
Although this is a fair explanation on chain maintenance, I believe that chain is way too tight if it’s actually 1”. BMW recommends 1.8-2” of slack in the chain while it’s on the side stand. I’d imagine once you take your bike of the rear stand to when you sit on it and put it in gear… it’s gonna be tight AF.
I think what you’re doing is great, but I’m just sharing my experience; a tight chain will wear out your sprockets fast!
You should find out more about this M Endurance chain, it is not necessary to lubricate... New chain developed by the manufacturer Regina exclusively for BMW...
Good curves👍👍
I know what it says vs how chains work lol. Some oils claim 50,000 miles on one oil change, you actually gonna do that? 🤔
Put the lightech chain adjusters on mine. Can't go wrong with those.
Being in Florida getting caught in the rain a lot. I have to wash my bike a lot. I bought some Gyeon can coat Q2 ceramic coating for my rims. It’s simple enough spray on a microfiber towel wipe on wipe off. Plus can be used on the whole bike you will also need Gyeon prep spray first to prep before coating.Something maybe for your UA-cam channel. I am a car detailed by trade.
I have the pro blackstorm metallic, thanks for making videos, very helpful 🤛🏻🤛🏻🤛🏻
No problem 👍
congrats on the 1k
Thanks!
Good info ❤❤
You actually made this really easy to understand. Thank you!
Very helpful. Thank you
Waooo Beautiful Bike ✌
Thanks dude!
Good Video. Just dont turn bike on and spray unless you wanna lose your fingers. Safer to manually roll the tire. Also, find some lotion for those kneecaps brah. lol
like the video...might wanna add a disclaimer though...you gonna have subs missing fingers
Thanks for the vids, I am thinking of getting one but can not decide on basic model or M package, what are your thoughts?
Check out my “5 things” video. All questions answered there my guy!
I thought the M Package come with the endurance chain, which doesn’t need to be lubricated?
Every chain needs to be cleaned and lubed. Doesn’t matter if they say “maintenance free” or not lol.
@@N31LE if that’s the case then that’s false advertising. The whole point of getting the endurance chain is to go without having to do maintenance correct? I also have one more question. How much are the maintenance costs on a S1K if u have to take it to the dealership?
@@tiger2q I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with what BMW says. I don’t know if the chain is maintenance free, I’m simply stating every chain that I own will be cleaned and lubed lol. As far as maintenance costs at the dealership. I’m not sure, that’s why this channel exists, so that you can watch my videos and save yourself potentially thousands of dollars getting someone else to do work that you can do with simple tools!
@@N31LE you’re right. I did some homework and BMW has in fact, walked back its claims about “maintenance free” now they’re saying it’s LESS maintenance. Check out the Revzilla article.
I see a lot of people saying there should be a disclaimer so people don’t wind up missing fingers..IMO if you’re not able to be careful for yourself and use your god given common sense, you shouldn’t be doing maintenance on ANYTHING! (.)
Dont buy all these products! All you need is WD40.
-Cleans the chain MUCH faster and also lubes it.
NO, it wont damage youre chains o-rings.
Oh and great videos! keep em coming
I don’t recommend doing that but to each his own!
@@N31LEcurious, why not?
@@agentmartagentmart9122 Wd-40 is considered an all purpose spray. Sure it may be able to degrease and clean your chain, but is it good at keeping it lubricated? And for how long? I use WD quite often, how well does WD really lube whatever you’re spraying it on longer than a few uses before you have to apply more? Now imagine that thing moving around at 1000-14000 rpms. Id rather stick to my chain lube and wax, at the end of the day it’s specifically made to do just that. Last thing I want is a chain wearing out faster than usual or flat out busting off because it didn’t have enough lubrication. Cost of potential damage vs the price difference of the 2, is minimal. WD has too many what if’s for my liking and riding style.
wd40 is excellent to clean but not so good as an oil to stick to the chain, instead use wd40 to clean and some heavier weight gear oil for lube.
I'll keep my shaft drive 😀
Is it m endurance chain bro?
Very good content bro. Lets keep your channel going
New SUB here, love the content my friend! Ride safe🙏
Nice bro ~ Alli South Africa
Congratulations on the 1k brother! well deserved!
Thank you! Couldn’t do it without you!
I am a big believer in cleaning and keeping your chain clean and lubricated. I bought a chain master from STG and man it’s a big game changer in maintenance and not getting lubricant all over everything. Maybe try it out $50 worth every penny . I am also a Florida rider ☀️ I do clean, multi purpose lubricant and then lubricant. I myself use a leaf blower to dry my chain off before multi purpose lubricant. I also have chain motion pro chain tool for slack and a chain aligner. Just as your using.
Sorry brother but you are wrong about this from start to finish. You never want to clean your chain with soap or water, this causes your chain to dry out. The correct way is just using the chain cleaner and then just lube your chain. Remember the key to keeping a healthy lubricated chain is by keeping it from being dry. You are killing the o-rings of the chain doing what you are doing. Just a heads up. I have a 2022 and this is my 4th S1000rr. I do 10-16k in miles every year. Also this M chain sucks and they changed mine twice.
The can literally says Chain cleaner on it.. find me where there’s soap in the video 🤣. Look man I’ve been doing this same procedure for about 10 years and have replaced maybe 3 chains over 4 bikes and 50k miles, 3 of those bike I still have. My chains last.. from care. Also maybe you should read up on how to clean a chain in your own time. Make what you just said make sense, chain cleaner and just lube..? What are you washing off the cleaner with? You’re just putting lube ontop of a dirty chain with chain cleaner still on it? It’s not gonna lube anything, the lube will dissolve IN the chain cleaner.. that’s what the chain cleaner is for to strip the chain of dirt, grease and old lube... then you wash all the grime off the chain and lube the clean chain..
Where can i buy a blue adjustment meter? 🤔
More videos this summer !!!
It doesn’t throw a check engine light if you let the back wheel spin?
No sir
