It was and today on channel 72 as I watch it from 1pm till 3pm Sons and Daughters was my first ever soap opera show wen I was 25tears old, and today at the age of 62years old I saw the end of my favourite Australian soap box 🤗 I've been an A SONS AND DAUGHTERS FAN SINCE IT BEGAN, AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE IT , MY FAVOURITE ACTRESS IS NS ROWENA WALLACE, BUT I LOVED ALL OF THEM.. WAT AM IVE GOT TO WATCH NOW ON CHANNEL 72 AUSTRALIA CHANNEL NOW ????😪😔🤥😮💨
Rest in peace to the great Cornelia Francis, Brian Blain, Pat MacDonald and Sarah Kemp. I've been keeping up with the show. Re-runs are on Mon -Fri from 1 pm on 7two. (Sydney).
In some ways Sons and Daughters was Australia's answer to Howards' Way in a lot of the storylines involved power struggles and also business struggles like the storylines in Howards' Way used to be quite often.
Tom Richards is right. The first part of S&D was excellent (about the first two seasons). Over time it became more sensationalist and silly, but those early episodes were top notch melodrama with well thought out characters and storylines.
3.30pm in our uk tv region trice a week. Happy memories of getting in from school to 25 minutes of intriguing drama for the first couple of years and the outrageous camp for the remainder. I don’t recall any cat fights. Would have loved to have seen pat I mean Pam rip Alison round Charlie’s surprisingly tiny lounge 😆
Used to watch this when I was like 12! My favourite characters were Charlie and Alison Carr. Am watching the reruns at the moment and still love Charlie’s overacting! Also love Wayne. Always wished Wayne and Alison had a happier ending!
What about Daniel Roberts who played Andy Green? I saw him on some episodes of Home And Away playing many different characters, as well as Belinda Giblin. You see, Belinda Giblin also played many different characters in the soap Home And Away's history, & right now, she currently plays Alf Stewart's wife, Martha Stewart.
Yes, that comment was not accurate. Barbara was very straight. Maybe they were blurring her with Patricia or her future character Morag in Home and Away.
Pat MacDonald (Fiona) passed away in 1990 and Leila Hayes (Beryl) washed her hands of the show when she found out she wasn't entitled to any rerun/DVD royalities.
This show was hugely popular in the U.K. throughout the 80’s. It was a daytime tv ratings winner. Brings back many happy memories watching the clips.
I've just started watching it from the start again now that Neighbours has finished.
Yes it was loved the Australian soaps and cellblockH was big here in the UK to

Schemer Barbara? Barbara was no-nonsense, but she wasn’t a schemer!
I loved Barbara! She didn't have a scheming bone in her body!
Agree wholeheartedly
David Palmer was a spunk!

Haven't they changed
to compare it to dynasty as opulent is simply rubbish. sure it was great for its time but 1 cordless phone on set is hardly opulent
Time for another reunion! Sadly, without Ms Frances this time, except in spirit.
They can sing, Kylie! They just needed to pick a key and stick to it.
Ally and Alyce can really sing. Ally formed Chantoozies and htey were successful and still tour.
@@paulbradley705 Yes :-) I remember being given a Chantoozies casette in 1988. 🎶 Wanna be up, don't wanna be down 🎶
Good to hear they're still going.
@@mumble.jumbleswe were watching Wentworth prison and when allys character Simone "Simmo" Slater she still called her Angela
Ally Fowler was the most wonderful thing in two legs for this very young man lol. And she's still beautiful
