The PG Video crew of John Bohlinger, Perry Bean and Chris Kies recall a pair of killer Rig Rundowns with Nuno Bettencourt & Pat Badger of Extreme and Sammy Boller. Then the trio focus on new gear pieces from Keeley, Danelectro, Gibson, Line 6, and Schecter, before dishing out their opinions on relic guitars, sharing new music they're excited about from Gary Clark Jr, Charley Crockett and Black Country Communion. And they conclude their hang with a discussion about how AI will continue shaping music and songwriting.

John you look great in glasses!
Three of my favorite Internet dudes!
John...............where's your plaid shirt? Cmon man! 😉😉😉
The Digitech Rp7 it was such a great learning tool too. Now I have an Rp12
Love this! Swapped the Tone X, "option anxiety," for the Friedman IR-X. I'm pretty happy with it. Would love to see similar ENGL, Soldano or Bogner type units. I relic my own guitars through my clumsiness.
Yep. I bought the IRX the day of release and having an actual tube preamp was the missing link.
I’m just here to hear John say “Gaaahd” and “Golly”!
Have you seen Pat Finnerty doing his impression of John in one of his videos? Hilarious.
Love you guys! might you guy do a rig run down or interview with Gran Hechicero, that guy is from another planet! I'm so blown away by him!
The glasses look great on John and keep up the types of episodes.
i Love it - - - finally someone who sands their necks!! I cannot play on treated necks, laminated necks are not my thing. I sand down smooth to wood, lay Birchwood's Tru-Oil Gun stock finish, let sit for 24 hours, sand with 3000 grit, do this 3 times (takes three days) then finish off with Gun Stock Wax. Let sit for 24 hours sand with 3000 grit. Total four days to treat. BABY"S Bottom - the neck is amazingly smooth and awesome. So far have not had to refinish any of the necks. LOVE IT. i am not alone -crazy cool!!
I really enjoy this. The talent and diversity of people making music is a pleasure to see. I've always liked your different presentation styles. Take care out there, gents.
Much appreciated!
I dig this format. Keep it up.
I love this format so much, also y’all guys are amazing, greetings from Colombia ✌🏼
Glad you enjoy it!
Handsome group doing the thing better than the rest 👏
We love you Aaron!
Miss you boo!😘
@@chris_kies right back at ya 😘
@@premierguitar LOVE you too!?!?!
I don't care about relicing. But I did buy my Gibson Jr that caught my eye because of its wear. I saw the pics online and thought: must be a good one because this thing has been PLAYED.
I about cried when I heard this guy say it's so cheap, its only $500 bucks. Man I must be getting old or money is just too tight right now. Trying to eat and all. Because I really want a Friedman IR pedal on my board.
I understand your reaction. I meant that for $500, the pedal does A LOT - a valuable purchase for a steep price on a pedal - because it acts like an amp, offers recording-out options, can store presets/manipulated via an app, uses two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, offers IR cab impulses (some that are exclusive to the IR-X), MIDI compatible, has an effects loop, and includes a boost with two separate channels. You could build a whole rig around this without an amp or cab!
@@chris_kies Oh sweet! Now I really want it.
40:51 I've never heard anyone put it like this before but this is so so true. 😂😂 "If I can't hear a great band, I love hearing a terrible band. 😂😂
“A horse” lmao
When the machines do the humanities then the humanities are gone.
34:58 whats that thing? black gibson les paul custom looking thing, with crown headstock inlay and custom binding headstock, ,and trapezoid fretboard inlay? the headstock binding and crown inlay make the whole guitar looks so fancy, very cool.
So what does synister gates put out a new guitar every time they put out a new album
What’s the difference between a new guitar that’s reliced and a used one either wear? Philosophically speaking
I bought my Gibson Jr because of the wear on it. Previous owner has LOVED this thing and so do I now. If an instrument is great, it will get beat up because it will get used.
AI in music ,a thing i quite like is hear a singer pass away 20,30years ago ,so no more new stuffs, cant hear he or her singing any new song again, but AI if good enough make the voice so close so real ,then you can hear the voice singing again, something like that im kind of ok with AI, but only time to time, for a tribute kind of things, when everyone do the same thing and over used , at one point cant be backfire..?
I'm not worried about AI music competing with human-made music - humans are innately drawn to imperfections and emotions of other humans. Those of us that care about music will always seek out music made by real people that we connect to.
I am, however, worried about copyright law with regards to AI. Under our flawed copyright system, AI has the potential to falsely purport to be someone else. Perhaps that isn't a bad thing if the artist(s) being emulated consent and are financially benefiting in some way, but the tech industry pushing this AI explosion doesn't have a great track record for fair compensation for artists.
Nuno? Big deal. There are shitloads of guitar players as good or better than he is. What, maybe two songs that anyone has ever heard that came out 20 plus years ago. He will NEVER come close to Eddies talent and creative ability. No matter what paint job he has on his guitar.
