I've used the double-sided sticky tape for installing zippers and it was AMAZING! I first learned inserting zippers on garments; have you ever tried sewing a zipper on faux velvet? Yikes! Basting and bad words were definitely involved! I learned the double-sided tape method when I started making bags & zipper pouches - and LOVED it. I've sewed through the tape and haven't had issues - it should wash out, but it fine to leave in.
I've been sewing for at least 7 years now and I still hate zippers lol! Thanks for the video, these tips and info are all very helpful, especially the one about the basting tape.
Placing the zipper pull in the direction of the teeth going down and starting with the tape on the side that is one tooth taller is incredibly important information for me. Thanks for sharing!

Yay! Zippers look great in projects but getting there can be a struggle!

Some zipper tape will fray if you cut it. Ask me how I know....
