When I do projects like this I first stitch the design the same size on a piece of scrap fabric, then trim it almost to the edge of my design, I then mark the “center point” with a noticeable pen. Once the sample is trimmed I slip it over where my design will be stitched under my embroidery foot, on my current product so i have a good idea of how it will sit. I’ve saved myself so many headaches by doing this. I keep my “sample” design stitches in a swatch book in case I need them again.
Oooh... this has been the Brother Skitch video I have been the most excited for! 🤩 Also, perfect timing as I am sewing some dad caps this week (not that I have an embroidery machine 😅). If you make them yourself I think embroidering the hat before attaching the brim most likely will make it easier to embroider.
I wonder if the adhesive tear away that is not water activated would work for this type of project. 🤔 We use it for hoping delicate fabrics like mesh that needs support along the whole surface while working on it. It’s basically a sticker sheet that should not leave residue on the hoops afterwards but strong enough to do the job to hold the fabric.

How did you upload to iPad? I have the app and subscription. I just can’t understand how to get my iPad to recognize the PES files. I get a lot of my stuff from design bundle and recently I started uploading some embroidery files. But when I go to the app to upload I think it’s only uploading a PNG file or JPEG??? Trying to find help on this. Thank you thank you for this video.
You can download the pes file but you need an application to be able to view/recognize the file. I’m not sure how the brother app works but you can save the pes file and upload to the brother app.

Hi I've been looking up videos on the skitch and been wondering why cant it just place the hat into the hoops and skip the fabric adhesive part?
That won’t really work because the bill of the hat is so ridged it won’t allow you to snap it into the hoop .
