@@LateKickwithJoshPate I've always been a huge cfb fan and just want to say that while I don't agree with (don't want to say most, so I'll say) 'half' of what u say and u wear your SEC bias on your sleeve (ironic I know), I really enjoy your show, and you're 1 of 2 cfb people/shows that I watch on a regular basis
@@scottd1903 appreciated. What SEC bias are you referring to? - JP
11:00 Texas at 5 is what I find so odd, makes me think the twisters movie has you're mind a little twisted. I don't understand you're reasoning for Texas being #5. You said they'll be there every year and are a program that doesn't have to build towards a season. Yet they haven't been there every year while in the big12 and had to build toward last year's success. So what all of a sudden makes them a perineal contender where you don't question their consistency? Or am I misunderstanding the metrics for this? I understand its a prediction for the next 3 years, but I feel like we can't ignore a programs failures from the past, which is why I don't question Alabama, despite not having seen a Kalen Deboer season.
My bold prediction is Big 12, Big 10, and SEC will win their conference. And I did bet on it already. (at FanDuel).
@LateKickwithJoshPate oh come on, u know it's there. Off the top of my head, u had a spot a week or so ago with impact players on defense and only highlighted 1 player from the B10 (a conference built of defense) and like 4 from the SEC and token ACC. Even with the B10 having DLs and DBs projected to be the best in the country at their positions. Also, in this video where u have I think 7 SEC teams in your top 15, u flat out said all the best teams are in the SEC.
The sooner u can admit it and stop with the denial, the sooner u can heal.
The era of SEC dominance is over. While the B10 may (I emphasize may) not be as good as the SEC yet, they're close enough where we won't see anything close to the level of dominance we've seen over the past 15 or so years.
RIP Khyree Jackson.
💚💛💚💛
God bless his family! And his former community college, Alabama and Oregon!

Breaks my heart that he was so close to living his dream of playing in the NFL. I hope his family and him were proud of everything he already achieved in his life
He’s reunited with Allah and the prophets of Islam in Sheol
Rest in paradise brother
RIP Khyree Jackson
Josh been saying Nebraska and Texas A&M been sleepers for 4 years. 4 years later and they the only ones still sleeping 😴
No Kennesaw State University is wild 🤯
As an A&M fan, where is ole miss? Lane has brought them to two 10+ win seasons out of the last three SEC seasons… with lower level resources. Not the mention the WORK that this man has put into the transfer portal. Dart and company are scary this year, and I think that energy is enough for the next 3 years to be top 10. I was thinking spot 5-8, but not even being mentioned was a surprise to me!
Most people I’ve watched said they are building for this year. After they lose this years players they say it will be back to developing players.
I think this is more to do with the sip than the kiffen
Last three recruiting classes, starting with 2022: 27th, 23rd, 21st.
Josh isn't going to put them here because they aren't a blue blood program just my thoughts
I think Josh probably believes, and I would agree, that sustained excellence is built through HS recruiting and development. Kiffin is relying heavily on portal. HS recruiting has been firmly in the bottom half of the SEC, and that’s before OK and Texas entered.
We lost a good man, not just a football player. Life is precious. God bless
RIP KHYREE JACKSON!!!! Also RIP the other 2 young men (I’m a Bama fan idk their names 🫤)
Ole Miss 🤔
"Be Miss 🤔"
Buying Clemson stock over the next 3 years is bonkers to me. Especially when you rank Clemson’s main competitors, FSU, and Miami above them. I think Dabo is one 7 or 8 win season away from hanging it up.
Idk how they are at 10 on the new game. I think that's just as crazy as having Colorado in the top 25 😂
@@crtg_bn6Clemson is expected to have a top 5 defense. Again.😂
Dabo refuses to use the portal at all and cfb has changed. It will hurt them in the long run because of it.
@@crtg_bn6 don’t put word in my mouth. I didn’t say they were top 10. Just trying to help you make sense of the ranking since you seemed confused. Go back to sipping on your baby bottle.
He overachieved by using NIL under the table, while complaining about it to land 2 all time great college QBs in Deshawn Watson, and giving steroids to defensive players. And anyone else not caught.
not a single B12 team to be projected into the top 15?
not every SEC team can be a winner Pate.
Your best content happens in the off season.
LSU under A&M jesus christ man. just do some research.
Did you listen to what he said? Sounds pretty well researched and more knowledgeable than you
Too Low: LSU, Oklahoma
Too high: Texas, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and possibly me
Hahaha
7 for a team that hasn’t done much makes me scratch my head too
🤣
Nebraska's best chance is to hold OSU's offense to under 20 cause they ain't scoring much on that defense. Good luck with Chip Kelly working with 4*/5* players.
LSU being that low is a head scratcher. I can get having concerns for this season but the next 3 years???
Another Georgia Tech mention🔥🐝🐝🐝🐝
I think Texas should be a top 10 program for the next 3 years, but I'm not 100% convinced they're top 5 just yet
probably not yet...but close to getting there. If they can finish in the top 4-6 range this season after the playoffs I think they solidify top 5.
It could be that the ACC and the Big 12 merge to create a third super conference for the NBC Saturday with ND.
If they find a way to kick SMU out that could work.
FSU and Clemson won’t be part of that so what’s the point for the Big12 to divide their earnings even further?
Trying to predict top programs 3 years out in the transfer portal era has to be hard. That list can change year to year, depending on coaching changes and portal moves (probably due to coaching changes). Take Washington, for example. They had a similar upward trajectory as Texas. Coaching changes changed that momentum. They've actually done more on the field than Oregon, except for recruiting. So there's no telling how drastic things can change. However, I'm happy where my teams at right now and going forward, Geaux Tigers! But it seems like you have information I'm not aware of...
Coach K is going to rock at psu.
Not Josh disrespecting tennessee too..Josh we beat a&m and made that famous defense look terrible and we have a top 10 recruiting class
Lincoln Riley is starting to show his true ability. He will not survive the 2025 season.
No Ole Miss is wild
Losing there quarterback after this year, already never had a great defense, and they are also 50th in recruiting and if you watch the show you already know JP feelings about high school recruiting being valued wayyyy more then transfer portal
Par for the course from media. All good - will make winning more sweet.
@@jaxongriffith5321his Auburn is showing and likely historic views of Ole Miss tough to overcome for many to accept they’re a legit good program now.
Im a duck fan and I agree I was waiting for ole miss to come off the board
Ole Miss the 3winningnest team in the SEC. In the last three years 🤔 JP needs some chapstick on for all them blue bloods butt kising 🤣🤣🤣 just joking JP 😳😁🔥
He had LSU at 11 and Caleb had the audacity to ask where’s mizzou??
@LateKickJosh, Is there a graphic that lists the top 15 teams over the next 3 years?
Gator fan here. I'm not sure the Miami game is a must win game, but it is a "must play competitively" game. We had a few of those late last year and kept it close enough.
I enjoy watching you, I'm a Big Auburn fan.I feel that Auburn should have made the list.I think all you guys are overlooking a great coach that's in the mix in recruiting. The only question everyone's having is qb play going to any good? Auburn will surprised this year.
Lifelong Auburn fan but yeah I think we need some on field to verify recruiting uptick before being top 15
Lol i guarantee you the dawgs or bama fans aint doubting yall. Go dawgs!
Also Jordan hare being snubbed top 3 hardest stadiums is wild.
Just to prove JP’s point, a state program keeping in/state talent in a talent rich state, look at LSU. They’re in it every year. They get nearly ALL of the top talent in Louisiana.
Texas is 25-14 over the past three years...Michigan is 40-3...and Michigan needs to proves itself-OKAY??? You could be correct but, relative to Texas and its move to the SEC, this is cognitive dissonance. Texas was 13-12 while playing a "Big" 12 schedule in '21 and '22.
Recruiting
Top 15 Generally well thought out and justified. Very difficult task. Interesting for sure.
LSU is too low, but will prove that in the next 3 years. So won’t complain too much. Traditionally the Tigers play the underdog roll very well.
I’d be ok with this list as a preseason ranking this year.
like they got keon coleman
Love the show Josh!
ROLL TIDE!!
🐘🐘🐘🐘
Georgia tech getting some love on the show 🎉 Go Jackets!!!
As a Jayhawk, it is nice to see the other teams.
Yall in a hell of a shadow these days huh 😂 nah but even I agree. All teams deserve love.
The BIGXII will be so much fun to watch
Go Jackets baby! Hope we can pull out some wins we’re not supposed to get again
Georgia at ole miss is MUST SEE!!
This list is perfect. Josh always gets Utah wrong, so the omission of the most consistent program in America’s Conference (Allstate Big12 Conference) is a good omen for my UTES!!! ❤
1:12:00 “fade into the abyss”??? Cmon man. Was the abyss the packed out stadium you went to in Week 11 last year? Or does that just not exist now that there’s only two teams in the conference now
Josh, if you’re saying that ND and Oregon both are rated higher than LSU or Miami.. did Mario Cristobal and Brian Kelly make a mistake or are Freeman and Lanning just better coaches?
Interesting that your top 2 teams with underrated offenses will meet in Week 2!!!
Holy crap, I didn't realize that Meemaw is Tonya Harding!!
Colin cowherd acting like USC was gonna take back over is the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages
It will be interesting to see if recruits start to realize the impact of all that travel on both their recovery and whatever minor academic work they do.
Just do this... figure out the 15 most rabid fan bases. And there's your 15 best programs. Because rabid fan base = NIL. NIL = player purchases. Smart coaches would rather work with good v bad players.
Whose to say LINCOLN RILEY ain’t the actual problem??? He inherited A LOT MORE at Oklahoma than he did USC! Also look how far OK dropped after he left! Whose to say if he’d have stayed another year, they might have finished 6-6!
UCLA most certainly did start the demolition of the PAC12. It coincided with other movements, but they absolutely were the impet for their part.
As a Tennessee fan im ok with being underrated we prefer it that way. We dont jave 1 5star qb we have 2 with a 4 star sandwiched in there. Defense is getting elite talent and the university is bought in on it.
Rumor has it the Florida Gators ranked in at 47(A)
As a PSU fan, I was surprised PSU made the list. Unfortunately, Penn States biggest obstacle in the current landscape of CFB is itself. And until the admin actually want to play championships we won’t move into that upper tier. Champagne taste on a beer budget.
In order to be a top 15 program it should be a prerequisite to have your stadium on campus 🤣
Hey Late Kick, I am neutral on the idea of expanded playoff. It does have its pros and cons. I really do believe that the expanded playoff is a pro for the fact that it brings value to the postseason that should reduce the amount of opt outs and will certainly bring in more revenue for the ncaa. Not saying I agree or disagree with it but if it brings value to football where we’ve seen people opt out, I think this is a great thing for football in that light.
🦆
No ole miss on this list is Wildddd
I know this isn’t the spot but I don’t have twitter so here we go; I’d bet my money on,Oregon being in Big 10 championship, Utah winning big 12 championship, Stanford losing Acc championship. Never forget the Pac12 haha
One thing nobody takes into account with NIL in regards to USC is taxes. You would have to pay state taxes at 13% so once you factor in federal taxes that’s half your money gone.
Yes indeed, not to mention cost of living in LA. I live in Commiefornia and this place just takes takes takes
We have an Academy Sports going up in my town as we speak!! Supposed to open in December!
😂😂😂😂😂 SEC fan boy JP. 😂😂😂😂😂 exactly what i expected.
After the Oregon game in Lubbock last year, I will cheer for them when they are not playing Tech. Looking at Oregon's schedule, tOSU, Michigan, and Washington are the only schools on the schedule with equal or better talent and Michigan is the only road game of the 3. Washington is in a similar position with only Oregon, at Michigan, and maybe at PSU with tough games. Just because we are heading toward a couple of mega conferences, doesn't mean that parity suddenly exists in CFB. BTW, neither Oregon or Washington play a tough non con opponent, their schedules are tailor made for 10+ win seasons.
10 of Washington's 22 starters last season were 6th year seniors, and Deboer did a terrible job recruiting the last two years.
Do not understand the Oklahoma love. I would put them somewhere between 12 and 15.
I'm calling that SMU will be top 10 to 12 in the next 5 years
No USC? I though they was the mecca of college football 😂
Preseason predictions are fun to think about since hope springs eternal for us all. Reality is that they are year to year bullsh!t. As fans, we just cant wait until Aug 24. All will be revealed soon enough.
Kstate at WVU in week 8 is a nice shoutout.
KU at WVU in week 4 gets things going.
KU - kstate for the Big12 championship with one loss total between them.
If they are both12-1 after the CCG, will the loser of the CG miss the playoffs?
Tennessee OU is my hinge game of the year. Feels like winner might sneak into the playoff and the loser won't. Maybe OU won't be in with a win, but last I checked, their schedule is manageable.
Check that schedule again. OU has a brutal conference schedule.
@@DavidGarcia-lk3cr Okay, manageable by SEC standards this year. But their Nov. is pretty brutal.

2. Ohio State
3. Texas

Somehow we have the same 15 just a different order some ways. After that top 6 it really does become difficult
Ohio State should be #1! Absolutely loaded! 🌰🏈
Oklahoma State mentioned
Hey pate, love the commentary on the big 12 and my wildcats!
How do you have FSU and UT over OU makes no sense lol even ND
Go Big Red 🌽🌽🌽
I think you picked the wrong ACC team for underrated offenses….North Carolina will have another 2 - thousand yard rushers this year….Hampton/Barlow will hammer opposing defenses this year. Huge offensive line. I know what you are thinking …….but they lost Drake Maye……Will not matter. This will be old school rushing offense. You heard it here first.
Hard disagree on the Florida take. This will consolidate it down to the south even further. The sport will not be better. The fix is to balance the spending at the top. Florida recruiting staying in Florida only helps them and harms some of the big boys, but it also harms the likes of Wisconsin and Washington and Kansas. The thing is you want all the players in the regions to stay in their regions and those are not areas where those teams really succeed. Playoff expansion alongside an even spending field is what will create the parity.
The only thing I disagree with pate on, is the order of the best programs in college football, for the next three years! Should be #1 Ohio State, #2 Georgia, #3 Alabama! 🌰🏈
This list is ridiculous
I’m not saying Bama is for sure going to drop off but I’d caution against auto saying Bama is a shoe in, we don’t know.
The same exact thing was said about Billy Napier when he came to FL. “He’s recruiting well, he’s inheriting elite facilities, he’s inheriting a great program and base, he’s proven at his last job”
Again im not saying he will fail I’m just saying the same was said and yes I realize Saban left Bama in a much better situation than Mullen left Florida but Mullen was 34-15 at Florida Napier is already 11-14 he was 40-12 at his previous university.
Hello is this management? We are live…

Is your memaw Tonya Harding ? 🤣🤣🤣 The crowbar to the knee
Josh! In celebration of the new EA Sports college football game coming out next week, can you do a top 10 list of teams to do in a dynasty mode?
He has said previously the game is too niche to cover on the show unless it affects the CFB landscape at large. Other UA-camrs have been pumping out content such as what you suggested though.
Big12 media days are this week.
Most underrated offense will be VT
I don’t understand how Josh wants the old way of suits voting in four teams and maybe leaving the best team out like Georgia last year instead of having the championship settled on the field by the top eleven teams if you’re outside at 12 you can’t really argue about being robbed because you’re not elite it’s way better than leaving a top 4 team out
He doesn’t. He wants people who actually know football voting. Also, if you know Pate you know he’d rather go BCS style anyways.
@@joshuagrooms9636 that’s my point I don’t want anyone voting it should be settled on the field and use a win loss strength of schedule formula to pick the 12 teams
@@gbrown4190 It shouldn’t be 12 teams. It should be six, 8 at max. Anything beyond that are teams that are good and not elite.
@@princeofgreece9054 well it’s not about if they’re that good a 12 team playoff makes sure that there’s no way possible a deserving team will be left out

Based on JPs rankings, Tennessee won’t be in the playoffs. Even #11 won’t make it. It amazes me that the setup of the playoffs is continually missed. You have to include a Big12 and G5 team, so at best there are only 10 spots left.
The other thing that is interesting is that Oregon hasn’t even won in the PAC12.
Wdym hasn’t won in the pac 12 they’ve won the pac12 many times like 7-10 they were the first to win the pac 12 when it was introduced so im confused on what ur saying
Oregon has won the pac 12 13 times so what are you even saying
@jacobwillcox6004
@chicken_sandwich3377
This isn’t a history discussion, though plenty of people didn’t pay attention to JP enough to realize the basis for his discussion. What former coaching staffs have done is not relevant. It’s about the current coaching staff going forward. Sorry about not reiterating JPs criteria in my comment, or is there a Dan Lanning championship I’m unaware of?
Go Ducks!
