- Football reaction. Today I react to "The Beauty of Football - Greatest Moments" for the first time. I know nothing about football in all honesty. I've reacted to a couple of football players in the past (Messi and Ronaldo) so I had no ideas who any of these players were. Some great football moments I love how much the fans, players and commentators are so passionate about football. It was a treat to watch and I look forward to doing more moving forward. I hope you enjoy this football reaction video.

Football is a game that is constant action & motion... scoring may not be frequent, but the anticipation and tension provide the excitement when u are invested in a team that is playing... The disappointment of failed attempts; the uproar when a goal is scored ⚽
The World Cup (men's) is the biggest title... to date, only 8 countries have won it in the world since its inception in 1930 and is very hard to win over the decades... The game has transformed over time, becoming faster & more technical w/ more scrutiny using technology. Europe leads the top moneymakers of the game, but football club leagues in the USA, South America, East Asia and the Middle East have been rising fast and producing talents.
5 Europe nations won the WC - Italy, Germany, France, England and Spain... 3 South American nations won the WC - Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
Each continent has its own competitions - UEFA Euro Cup... Copa America... AFC Asian Cup... African Cup of Nations... etc.
In Europe, the 3 biggest club football leagues are Premiere League (UK), La Liga (Spain) and Serie A (Italy) w/ Ligue 1 (France), Bundesliga (Germany) and Superliga (Turkey) the next three... Currently, some of the biggest club teams include - Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal (UK)... Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid (Spain)... AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli (Italy)... Paris St. Germain (PSG), RC Lens, Marseille (France)... Bayern FC, Leipzig RB, Borussia Dortmund (Germany).
The women's football scene worldwide has also been rising in popularity... USA has won 4 women's World Cup titles since its 1991 inception and the 2023 edition is next w/ USA as the defending champions.
So, over this century... many stars of football have emerged. The first superstar was Pele from Brazil... he made the country's WC squad in 1958 at age 17 and started winning Brazil's games w/ finesse, helping them win the first WC title that year... his iconic No. 10 jersey became synonymous w/ any football team's best player... He was injured in the 1962 WC, but Brazil still won it without him... He was injured in the 1966 WC again... but he made the 1970 team as Brazil routed Italy 4-1 to win their 3rd WC title.
Diego Maradona of Argentina made his debut at the 1982 WC, but in the 1986 WC, he led Argentina to a streak of wins and exceptional play to win the title... In WC 1990, Maradona and Argentina were hampered by injury, but made the final where they lost controversially to Germany 0-1. His career came to an end in 1994 after he failed a doping test at the WC. But Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest to ever play football.
Zenedine Zidane of France captured the world's attention in the 1998 WC when he helped France win their first WC title... France failed in the 2002 WC, but Zidane bounced back in the 2006 WC, helping France reach the final. Unfortunately, an incident in the final w/ Italy led to his ejection, and France lost the title to Italy in the tie-breaker penalty shoot-out.
Other stars to check out include David Beckham (England), Franz Beckenbauer (W. Germany), Ronaldo (Brazil), Ronaldinho (Brazil), Diego Forlan (Uruguay), Paul Pogba (France), Roberto Baggio (Italy), Karim Benzema (France), David Villa (Spain), Alessandro Del Piero (Italy).
Lionel Messi of Argentina is officially considered the greatest player of his generation after winning Argentina's 3rd WC title in 2022... his career w/ Spain's club Barcelona won him every title that football had to offer him.
His rival Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal had a stellar career at Spain's club Real Madrid and record goals scored... but he always fell short in the WC and only helped win 1 Euro title in 2016 for Portugal... Neymar Jr. of Brazil is also a stellar player today.
Kylian Mbappe of France is only 23, but he helped France win a 2nd WC title in 2018 at age 19 and was runners-up in the 2022 WC, where he scored a hat-trick (3 goals in 1 game)... He is lining up to be one of the football greats.
Erling Haaland of Norway is only 22 and has begun a stellar scoring career w/ the UK's club Manchester City and will likely make a mark in world football.

It's over a century of great players, clubs and countries. The WorldCup is every 4 years, so to first reach the national team, out of millions of inhabitants, and then play for the world title, is the greatest possible win. It's not always the best tournament, as the South American and European continental tournaments, in general, bring a higher level over all.
We (The Netherlands) played 3 worldcup finals and lost all. Only 1 European cup, when it was with only 8 countries.
Lets just say, it's better to become 3th, then second.

Players play for their country and their club. Countries participate in the world cup and it's the most prestigious trophy of international football.
In club football the most prestigious is the Champions League.
The quality of football at club level is higher, thererfore the Champions League has a higher standard of football. But the champions league is a yearly competition in Europe. The World cup only happens once every 4 years, adding to its prestige.

Pelé was THE first GOAT of the sport and he is considered the father of football and the godfather of Brazilian playing style, Jogo Bonito, which is the style many Brazilian players like Neymar, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Juan Cuadrado, Douglas Costa etc use, its also known as the brazilian flair and it consists of not using the incredibly tactical basic football, but using a ton of tricks, amazing dribbles and skills to essentially become a showman, Pelé was one of the first to play with this style and makes him one of the GOATS to this day, sadly, right now he is in a very poor condition in the hospital and we all know its almost his time 😔😔

The nice thing on that is, that the whole world compete in this challenge just all 4 years. The whole world! And not like in the NFL, NBA or NHL just US teams pretending to be "World Champions" when they won some fantasy Cup. Offcourse winning the real football worldcup is the bigest thing you can reach as a football player. Every little kid and pro player dreams of it. Come out of your US Bubble. ;)

Is kind of pointless to watch this particular video, because is not a video about the most amazing skills and goals, half of this goals were championship-winning goals, so to appreciate this video is better to have more context. For example you miss the "Miracle of Istambul" at minute 7:23, the Champions League final of 2005, where Liverpool was losing 0-3 at half time against AC Milan, the best team of those years, and draw the game 3-3 and went to penalties, just to win dramatically. is considered the best final in the history of the tournament. Or the goals that gave the world cups to Germany and France in 2014 and 2018. And so on. Without context, half of this goals are kind of irrelevant.
