Disk Sander From This Old Saw! Experiments Pt1

- In this video we answer the age old question. Can you make a disk sander from an old circular saw?? The answer is "sort of!" This is a 2 horsepower circular saw that my dad got for me sometime around my 16th birthday and it has helped me build more projects than any other tool in my shop but it is so old and haggard it doesn't cut anything straight or clean anymore so I had to replace it. The motor is still good so it will be perfect for this.

I like to see someone take what they have and make something they need. I’m looking forward to Friday’s vid! I have a small disc sander, but it’s ancient and close to worn out. This could be a good use for an old circular saw that we’ve hung onto... 🤔
Your ability to invent, reinvent and rereinvent on the fly is fun to watch. Looking forward to Part II and how you solved the problems you mentioned.
Great Video. Thanks.
Just kidding I haven't watched it yet. Just have a feeling.
hahaha
@@WyldeWoodworks I was right but saddened I didn't get a real conclusion
Friday!
Awesome! Looking forward to Friday.
great idea. Keep at. You will figure it all out for us, so we can copy it if we need one. Thanks friend
Can't wait!
That’s why my husband never throws anything away! You never know what you might be able to make with it later. 🇺🇸
It's not hoarding if it's organized! Lol
Speed can be solved with a ceiling fan motor speed control switch
💖
1 very important safetyreminder though NEVER use a cutting disk to grind there is no stregth on the width of a cutting disk and they can explode they are stricktly designed to cut
That's true! The 2nd disk I was using was actually a thin grinding disk but it does look like the zip disk doesn't it?
Ok sorry but atleast may help someone else not make that mistake
@@plutoyaldnil4750 No worries! You're not wrong
What would happen if I plugged a motor running on an 18 volt battery into a regular power outlet
Most likely you would burn it out
I can't find your video on how you made your drill into a sander...?? link please!

Would you be willing to share the plans for this project in part two?
I didn't make any plans for it. Do you want measurements?
@@WyldeWoodworks sure that would be great!
