Honestly, The Curious Cat is one of those villains you love to hate, because of how despicable they are and how they’re able to manipulate others to get what they want.

I feel sad for Neo. Her only attachment to remnant died years ago. And her whole reason for living “died” to. She has nothing all over again. It like her song, “One thing.”

However the cat is disposed of, team rwby have enough troubles on their plate back home thanks to Salem. They don't need this monstrous little parasite giving them even more.
It's kinda messed up that some people are blaming Alyx for the Cat's actions. She broke her promise but that doesn't make it okay for the Cat to straight up murder her in retaliation. Like that's classic 'you have outlived your usefulness' villain level stuff. He also continued to manipulate everyone in EA (including Jaune/Team RWBY) for his own ends, like that bird he sent to die against the Jabberwalker.
We also still don't know the full truth. Why did alyx do what she did? What gave her that change of heart? So far, we only have points of view for her. One blamed her, and saw the worst. The other saw her as a tool, not a person. What did she see after the caterpillar that changed her? This is stuff, we may never know, because its reader is long gone. Or, maybe, she isn't. Death isn't the end here after all.
Still had it coming, implied that the poison DID kill Jaune, and from his P.O.V. she's clearly done many other awful things hence why she wanted to "fix" everything, she just didn't had time to realise Karma came in Checker theme this year

This creature clearly has some shapeshifting powers so I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that his feline body was simply a facade to look friendly and harmless and in reality the Curious one is a giant demon or something like that.

I loved the soundtrack and reveal, after the cat possessed Neo. But this scene, the whole body language, acting, the emotional spectrum they display. And then the delivery at the end "Then i put you in the ground". This is so scary and awesome!
Here's what I suspect will happen, Ruby will ascend and come back much stronger and determined than ever, she will possibly lure the cat out of Neo and show that she can no longer be possessed. The cat will then be killed by someone so it can reincarnate possibly better than they were or get it's just desserts by meeting it's death by Jabberwalker, thus ending it's threat once and for all. Ruby will then present the same tea she drank for Neo as a means of Neo ascending and finding her purpose once more, and that's how Neo will be redeemed.
I like to think if anything it'd be Jaune who saves Neo. Since his semblance allows him to directly interact with a person's aura, which is the manifestation of the soul, and since he's had plenty of time to train his aura and semblance, he could probably separate Neo and Curious via aura shenanigans. Whether by boosting Neo's aura to protect herself and shoving Curious out, or outright just pulling Curious out. The only reason why I believe this is because it'd probably be the only way to actually defeat Salem. Jaune literally splitting the immortal human side of her from the grimm corruption. It's an easy and semi-consistent solution that can actually affect the main conflict of Cinder and Salem. Plus it'd give Volume 9 some actual importance to the overall plot, because if left as is, the only change in the main story of Remnant is that Ruby is stronger by basically reallocating skill points, Jaune is older but not stronger, and Blake and Yang are official. For an entire volume we've waited over a year for, it'd be a shame if there was no ACTUAL progress in defeating Salem other than "RuBy StRoNg". For what is essentially a "character development arc", Volume 9 didn't really have a lot of endgame character development and basically gave Ruby a "character development potion" and Jaune PTSD and a depressed hero complex that gets resolved in like a minute. What's the point of making Jaune older but NOT stronger in any way?

He's not gonna finish off Salem, at most he's the one who'll beat Cinder and create an opportunity for Ruby against Salem. And regarding his semblance, if Neo's can evolve from just being mad for not killing Ruby for the third time, Jaune's semblance should have at least gotten stronger over the years. At the very most, it should've evolved from what he's experienced as well. And yeah, Aura Amplification DIRECTLY affects another's aura. So depending on how his semblance evolves or strengthens, theoretically speaking it's within the realm of possibility. And that's much more of a trump card than anything the A-team has right now.

So here's how I think Volume 9 is going to end: Jaune, RWBY AND the Cat make it out of the Ever After, and the Cat goes on to form a big bad ensemble or duumvirate with Salem, looking to gather the Relics and summon the Brother Gods back to Remnant so that the Cat can get their own answers. Also, GOD, the Cat is such a juicy antagonist! :D I hope they really do have more of a role beyond V9. :)
I'd actually love to see the Cat and Salem together. Plus, she' got some spots open in her Inner Circle anyway since all she's got now are Cinder, Tyrian, and Mercury.

This actually makes a lot more sense. When we hear the fairy tail story, even if it’s real, we never think it’s an autobiography story, so having the Brother write the story makes a lot more sense when you think about it like that.
I find it interesting that Neo can't cross the portal because she doesn't have any connection. I wonder if that has to do with not having objectives or something like that. because one would think that after getting rid of Rubí her next objective would be to return and take revenge on Sinder🤔

Considering he's not a humanoid, likely kill him off (reincarnate him) You would think the gods would have been smart enough to create at least two of his kind in case the Curious Cat himself (like now) is broken due to an impossible assignment, and needs to return to the tree again his will to be fixed. (for context, his mission is to understand everything, that is quite literally impossible, meaning he's likely never returned to the three sinds the gods left. That's been how many thousands of years or more? yeah he definitely went insane due to his impossible task and his creators just leaving him with more questions.)

I feel so awful for Neo, and I haven’t watched this series in years. Even from a writing standpoint, she really had no agency once she teamed up with Cinder. Here, she’s possessed and gave up her life to maybe live with a delusional that she’ll have her only friend and family close by. She had nothing but rage and spite, and look where that got her. It’s been so long, but I still like her character. I wish she had gotten a better story.

Honestly the cat screwed himself over by killing Alyx. There was no way that girl was just going to stay in the ever after. She just wanted to fix her mistakes, and once she did she would have gone home. Would it have been annoying to wait a little while longer, yes but she would have still went home after she finished and taken him with her. Hell with his help she could have finished faster and they would have been on their way in no time.
here's my question, even if Neo had something tying her to remnant and was able to go back, why would the tree let her if the cat's involved? why would the tree let the cat leave under any circumstances? thing was created to do a specific job, if he leaves he can't, so why let him leave and not renew him or something?
I see neo cant returns remnat becuases she had nothing to do But when she meet cinder she had to do working with cinder all happen to Atlas but now she can fix to help Ruby rose to defeat cinder and salem neo changes like emerald to help ruby and his friends
I hope if Neo survives this, chooses to do what Alyx wanted and try and help people in the Ever After (like Ruby she has a lot of similarities to Alyx)
Ruby has to find herself in time after seeing her mom’s memory or manifestation and use her silver eyes to kill the curious cat for good so he won’t hurt her friends and anyone who comes to the island ever again. Sure, she would kill Neo in the process, but they have no choice since the cat won’t give up the body that easily
Even after the reveal of what he did to Alyx, I’m not surprised. I don’t really feel bad that he killed her, she basically just welched on her promise to the cat. Heh, don’t know if it’s a pattern, but a lot of the characters make really dumb decisions it’s hard to feel bad for them when they meet an unfortunate end. Truth of the matter was that Alyx was a terrible person before the story that was told about her, and then the sudden change of perspective at the worst time only to get her killed. And the Curious Cat just lost his chill and patience with her. Can’t blame him fully for his actions.

My theory is she IS the Blacksmith. Took her own reset after the Cat offed her and became someone who literally fixes those who are broken.
Perhaps she became the Blacksmith? The tree have her a role so she could help ‘fix’ what she had broken.

I like her as a villain, but don't see how she can easily be redeemed considering what she's already done.
Even more, I wonder what they are going to do with Curious Cat.
Considering he's not a humanoid, likely kill him off (reincarnate him)
You would think the gods would have been smart enough to create at least two of his kind in case the Curious Cat himself (like now) is broken due to an impossible assignment, and needs to return to the tree again his will to be fixed.
(for context, his mission is to understand everything, that is quite literally impossible, meaning he's likely never returned to the three sinds the gods left.
That's been how many thousands of years or more? yeah he definitely went insane due to his impossible task and his creators just leaving him with more questions.)

its interesting because the book always talked about alyx in third person , so either its written from his own pov while not naming himself or he see's himself and alyx as one in the storyline, or he just feels like alyx should be remembered more fondly considering he probably saw her in a better light after the epiphany

So if the cat isn't lying here and she did promise to take the cat to remnant, this was basically alyx's fault. Because she cheated the red king and they decided to be petty as the red prince. :p
Huh? The cat is controlling and manipulative toward pretty much everyone (esp Jaune/RWBY) and also evil af for killing Alyx because she didn't do what it wanted. At least Alyx acknowledged how horrible she was and wanted to atone.

And If the writers wanted to, they could make it where there was a point the cat wasn't totally evil and really trusted that alyx would bring him to remnant, but with Lewis gone and alyx not having a connection to remnant at that point, he got pissed, killed alyx out of frustration and then decided to just manipulate people.

Maybe he has access to the person's memories? Given how he can control his host's body and modify it (blue claws, for example), it would make some sense that he would make good use of his host's body in combat.

I feel so awful for Neo, and I haven’t watched this series in years. Even from a writing standpoint, she really had no agency once she teamed up with Cinder.
Here, she’s possessed and gave up her life to maybe live with a delusional that she’ll have her only friend and family close by. She had nothing but rage and spite, and look where that got her.
It’s been so long, but I still like her character. I wish she had gotten a better story.

Honestly the cat screwed himself over by killing Alyx. There was no way that girl was just going to stay in the ever after. She just wanted to fix her mistakes, and once she did she would have gone home.
Would it have been annoying to wait a little while longer, yes but she would have still went home after she finished and taken him with her. Hell with his help she could have finished faster and they would have been on their way in no time.
here's my question, even if Neo had something tying her to remnant and was able to go back, why would the tree let her if the cat's involved? why would the tree let the cat leave under any circumstances? thing was created to do a specific job, if he leaves he can't, so why let him leave and not renew him or something?

But when she meet cinder she had to do working with cinder all happen to Atlas but now she can fix to help Ruby rose to defeat cinder and salem neo changes like emerald to help ruby and his friends
she is void she wont return besides she hasnt earned redemption
I hope if Neo survives this, chooses to do what Alyx wanted and try and help people in the Ever After (like Ruby she has a lot of similarities to Alyx)

Ruby has to find herself in time after seeing her mom’s memory or manifestation and use her silver eyes to kill the curious cat for good so he won’t hurt her friends and anyone who comes to the island ever again. Sure, she would kill Neo in the process, but they have no choice since the cat won’t give up the body that easily
Even after the reveal of what he did to Alyx, I’m not surprised.
I don’t really feel bad that he killed her, she basically just welched on her promise to the cat.
Heh, don’t know if it’s a pattern, but a lot of the characters make really dumb decisions it’s hard to feel bad for them when they meet an unfortunate end.
Truth of the matter was that Alyx was a terrible person before the story that was told about her, and then the sudden change of perspective at the worst time only to get her killed.
And the Curious Cat just lost his chill and patience with her. Can’t blame him fully for his actions.
