- Rim Locks tend to contain wards or obstructions inside the lock as security to prevent the wrong key from working. However they are susceptible to being opened by skeleton keys. Check out the Brummielockpicker channel to see how you can open these using a couple of nails.
Thank you for sharing your video. Nice lock for a gate. I like the historical European look of the lock.
My husband and I live in the USA. I love almost everything that's European.
God bless 🙏

My grandad was an engineer in a sugar factory in Norfolk. The storesman got fed up with him asking for various keys so he made him a skeleton key, just like yours - it opened even door inside the factory, obviously they were all rimlocks 😄 I have it now !
Great demo mate 👍 Have a great weekend 👍 🍻
Thanks for watching and commenting all the best
Well done Derek

Thank you all good here hope you are well
That is a great demo Derek. Boot seen one of those in a few hearts apart from on Brummie's channel 😂.
My old dad and mum had an old black one of those on the back door. Whenever myself or my brothers would end up with a nose bleed, probably from fighting with each other 😂. My mum used to take the huge back door key, drop it down our backs and lie us face up on the floor. She was insistent it would stop the nose bleed 😂.
Thanks for watching Roy, I bet the key down the back worked probably helped you forget about the nose bleed.
@@DerekMercerlocksmith Crazy old wives tales. 😂
Nice one Derek, I use to have those on an old shed, & it’s scary how fast they pick open.
Thanks for watching mate
