I enjoyed playing in this war. I think if I ever played Hungary again I would prioritize a large transport fleet to engage the ottomans along their coastline like we did here. With an ally like Aragon Italy the ottomans’ coastline is just way too big for them to reasonably hold.
34.6 million casualties in 10 years of war. Truly, the world has gone mad. Also imagine being some DM troops told "We're going to support our Scandinavian and Arcadian lads in Northern Germany", then being in the transports for way too long and exiting out into India fighting against the Japanese.
I'd say it was unrealistic but then again real life is just as weird: "Alright my Ozzy lads we're going to be fighting for the British to protect the Belgians from the Germans!" Ends up in Syria fighting the Turks alongside the Arabs
A good reason for you guys winning could be explained by the enemy being overwhelmed by fronts and not being able to focus on all of the at the same time, causing missplays
Also, they had a better coordination over ALL the fronts, that could also be because front management was better split between the naval alliance countries
Also the great winner of late game mega wars, Spuds alliance had naval dominance, letting them attack any enemy coastline and pull off naval encirclements

Naval dominance always wins great wars it seems. The game doesn’t simulate the logistics difficulties of naval invasions and supply enough to make invasions as hard as they were in real life

If you want a campaign we’re naval dominance failed, look at spuds old Prussia to Germany campaign. I wish it was made into a video as it was one hell of a war
I think a nice addition to the mod would be if Poland or Bohemia could form Zapadoslavia if they control Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland. The PLC needs an alternative route in case it loses to Muscovy and cannot reform the Commonwealth. It would also be a good route if one cares about industry and literacy more than pops.
Video analysis summed up the war perfectly. Basically turned this war into a tug of war where we had the advantage of mobility. Once they moved to any front we had the advantage of attacking from another.
This was one of the most satisfying great wars I’ve ever seen; great strategic and tactical plays! What a joy to watch, thank you for this unique and dope content Spud.
I noticed that the Japanese weren't 1st great power for like 200 points, could they've done prestige research to bridge the gap and steal the spot and start getting fuel? or because it was the DM that was making it, would it have gone to the DM anyway?
@@SpudgunOfficial well, maybe, but in this case it could've easily made things quite different, it's a shame nobody thought of that at the time, specially given that sometimes I see you (so I imagine others do it too) some time without research anything
@@matheusGMN it is a good idea in theory but that is just in hindsight , in japan's position before the war japan was focused in china and was researching organic chemistry which should have given japan the fuel tech but they were unlucky , besides that it wasn't clear which side japan will join i mean they went the entire game just fighting in china with no clear side to ally , so unless japan knew who they are going to join in an upcoming great war far away ,they would just be wasting research on prestige.
@@Antonious_jeffer I mean, sure maybe it was a waste of time researching it before joining the war, but after joining the war it would've been useful, plus, the game has a mechanic in which it's faster to research technology that's considered common/outdated?/well-known, so it's not like they would've wasted much time researching it, specially if they were still in the 1st or 2nd tech levels of prestige
I think it was kind of understated how imporant your naval superiority was throughout the war. Probably what won it for you in the first place. Especially with the ottomans it felt like a death by a thousand cuts. The others were basically landlocked, sure. But having to dedicate troops to defend the coast like Japan did cost them dearly on some fronts. Otherwise they could have singled out a country at a time and just overwhelem them since your "entante" was so separated from each other in contrast to their "central powers"
This war is a perfect example as to why naval dominace is imporant, it allowed for many encirclments and many more operations while the opposing side had to stick to predictable land offensives.
This war was extremely close, with lots of blunders and great offensives on both sides and i really feel that Spud's alliance managed to grab a victory at the last second. The things that decided everything were the ottoman's explosion and the invasion of tatarstan, 2 problems that the enemy alliance had no way to solve but the DM was also about to explode and they did after the enemy surrender. If the timing was different (DM explode before Ottomans or they explode before the enemy surrender) that may have changed things significantly. Great conclusion to a very entertaining campaign.
Ottomans would need to hold for at least a few months longer for DM to explode first. And it's possible that Spudgun's alliance would've still attacked Tatarstan from India. BTW, the Ottomans didn't explode, they imploded.
this was such an epic series can't wait for vic3 to come out to have another great series like this imagine what the war system will be like in vic3 can't wait :D

Gotta say, HRE did a real HeavyLifting during the war, present on 80% of all The fronts, and with huge advantage on numbers. You really dont wanna make ot possible for a HRE to form.
What an absolutely amazing great war, the GC joining with the US probably did over stack the alliance tbh. The whole thing was honestly really similar to WW1.
It's a shame that the Series was cut in half by the Victoria 3 Kerfuffle, i think that if timed better this one could've become my favourite cinematic universe. Great series as always, keep it up chief!

A good war, the front in Germany was mainly a fault of over extension. Otherwise everything was well done. The Turkish collapse was a MAGNIFICENT affair to watch. Now I am sorry if I came off as insulting in my comment in the last video of this series regarding Scandinavia. I don't know him nor his usual play style. And my comments were rude. So again sorry.
The only time you can insult a player is when he pulls a move where he ruins his nation, deletes his factories and destroys the game for the other 10-20+ players in the campaign.
I think its possible, but the AI just accepts peace when it gets to a certain point. So it probably doesn't happen. I think it was designed for the AI to use against a player
If you want to know how people in Texas would be in case they called it Bahia, just think of everyone there loving sleeping as much as they love guns in Texas.

Each tech gives like 30 prestige, and battles contribute way more

How tf did japan lose 3 mil pops in yunnan and still ended the war with 15 mil more than the start of the war?
