Some great scenery, long time since I have been to the Lake District. Great to see Helen appearing in your videos and well done to her for overcoming her fears.
The weather looks typical LD fare in my experience - haven't been in that neck of the woods for years but an eager to get back. Fantastic place to hike.
Is it possible to do a video or a pinned comment on the clothing you wear for such a walk. Also what spare stuff you take in your bag. Eg waterproofs. Or stuff for the dogs.
Nice video Eddy. Would you be looking to drag some fellow Tynesiders along some of your walks in the future, like what you offered around the doors, closer to home...?
Oh my god yes what an idea! Eddie you could do walking tours of the lakes mountains for people like me who’s never done anything like it before but are fit. I don’t know why but I find it quite daunting the thought of doing something like this by myself but doing it with someone experienced could open a whole new world to 1000s of people! Keep up the great work pal! Love it 🤜🏻
What a wonderful vista, one of my favourite places in the world, maybe someday when I'm back home I'll do a short visit as I now have relatives in the area, it'll have to be a short ramble, not the man I was now turned 70. Great vlog as always, must be something to have Helen with you, my wife thinks shopping is a hike. Did you find that veteran in Wales building a castle?
@@Eddy-Hope I always do Grizedale first, and all the videos I have seen they do it that way. But each to his own. I used to do Grasmore at the same time, but I was so much younger then !
@@BENTWOONEZERO hi Ben, the point that should come out of this is that there are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ ways to go about walking routes in the hills. I’d hate to live in a country where that was the case. The Coledale and other Horseshoes can be done in anyway that satisfies the walker and are free to add, or miss out, certain points. Indeed, at the beginning of this particular video, I infer that this is a shortened version of the Coledale Horseshoe. BUT it is still the Coledale Horseshoe. I say all of this not as an expert, but as a past mountain leader, winter mountaineer, long distant hiker (including C2C and Everest BC) and a short time in Mountain Rescue. Enjoy the mountains Ben and enjoy everyone that is attempting to inspire people to get into the hills with their videos 👍🏻
I think for most people who aren’t familiar, you’ll need to take a map, compass and a digital map if you can. Nothing is signposted up on the fells, so navigation skillls are essential if the cloud comes down 👍🏻
Great video, very inspirational. Makes me want to make the time and effort to get out more. Not been to The Lakes for a long time but have family living there so it’s still on my list. Thanks again I enjoyed the walk albeit vicariously! 😊

There’s no wrong way around in the hills Ben.

Is it obvious which way you need to go? Or do you need to be aware of the surroundings so you don’t take the wrong turn… 😂
