- Willie Nelson speaks about cannabis legalization and his expectations for the future in the United States. Nelson believes that Colorado, Washington, and Oregon are pioneering the movement and that the United States will see legalization in all states within five years.
Because cannabis has replaced a few other vices for him, Nelson also believes cannabis is not a gateway drug and though children should not partake, it will not lead to "harder" drugs.
Nelson's new book "It's A Long Story" is in stores now.

@Nonato Macias stfu nobody said it was good for you but he looks alot better at 80 then most alcoholics or tobacco smokers, most dont even make it to his age. He said that it's not good for you but as an adult you can make those decisions yourself. You said because of the stress free life hes made it this long but you do know weed is a stress reliever right? So for us individuals that aren't rich and famous, it can be good for some so stop trying to make it worse than it is and let people live their life. I have not seen a single study, and feel free to educate me, that says marijuana kills brain cells in healthy of age individuals, nor does it lead to worse drugs down the line. Half the shit you probably put in or on your body everyday are far worse. If ciggies and alcohol are publicly accepted and widely used then so should weed disregarding any arguments saying its unhealthy.

Edit: it’s not legalized officially here. You can buy it at a coffeeshop, smoke it on the street, no problem. But the way coffeeshops get supplied is actually illegal. Strange huh?

I began smoking weed because I have ADHD and insomnia. I was also prescribed Adderall, which put my insomnia into overdrive. Pot was only thing that slowed me down and made me feel comfortable. I’m less antsy, more cooperative, and can clearer because I’m far more patient. My wife will insist I light up before we do repair work or she needs to talk bills. I agree with Willie that weed isn’t for everyone, especially children. And it’s safer than alcohol. Banning cannabis is foolish, and our government really should repeal its prohibition.

Truth that hurts my friend
Not sure I'd call the opioid epidemic "racist" considering most of the people who do these types of drugs are white unless the people running the supposed underground trade operations are of different ethnicity. But besides that, marijuana can go a long way with treating things in a healthier way than opioids do and can prevent possible addiction and death to opioids, therefore shrinking the epidemic. I think the legalization of marijuana is more important than ever because the amount of people abusing these opioids is too high. Using marijuana as a medical or even a recreational solution to pills would make such a difference on people's physical and mental stature. My only concerns with this however is people will still find ways to be irresponsible with such a substance, but that can happen with anything. This is just my take on it, interpret it how you want. Weed saved my life.. i was literally die a slow painful death, until weed helped me control my chronic core temperature fluctuations, and my urine doesnt look like rust and smell like sulphur sice smoking weed. My skin is no longer turning like a 90 year old with head to toe dry blistering skin. But im still extremely weak.. but weed has giving me enough energy to go back to school. and quite honestly I hate smoking weed I'm tired of being stoned but I'd rather that than be sick.
