recently pulled a crack free dash from the junkyard... was a challenge, had to further destroy the donor car to get the dash out because we could not get the air bag steering wheel off....so we he heaved the steering column down in order to get dash out

Not really looking forward to a job of that involvement, but have to replace some of the burl walnut strips on my dash that someone plied off before this. Since the interior bits are costly, ive even considered replacing them with brushed steel panels rather, since the interior is that darker Thalo Blue interior, and thought it might match okay even if its not OEM.

Thank you for the explanation ! A 1990 wow already 30 years of accumulated dust and grunge inside the air box and squirrel cages - I think it would be worth doing just on an interior air quality rationale like for health reasons. Cheaper than a lung transplant.. I wonder how often rodents get in the area behind the dash in the 126s? We have something around here called Hanta Virus - it is in rodent urine and lotsa times fatal to humans and can be airborne.
